If the car Has a 3.1 V6 its 1-2-3-4-5-6 for a 3.8 it's 1-6-5-4-3-2

I'm not positive on '89s but on '90s (I'm almost positive they're the same engine) its on the passenger's side. You should be able to see it by opening the hood. Its right next to the intake plenum/manifold and it has a pipe that connects just behind the throttle body. Hope that helps!

According to Haynes, code 36 is either (5.7L) Distributer Ignition System or (3.4L) 24X Signal Circuit Error...faulty circuit error from coil pack to module.

Yes but you well need to get new fenders a new hood new headlight assemblies and some other stuff

Generally speaking you can clear trouble codes by either removing the fuse to the engine control module or by disconnecting the battery. In either case the ignition should be off.

Yes. you need to change the engine mounts a bit, and the pcm and the ecu need to be replaced with the v8 ones, tranny, rear end, alot of things need to be done, i recomend just buying a car with a LT1/LS1 with it in already in it, like a Formula/Trans Am/Z28 Camaro/SS Camaro

yes the map sensor will keep the car from running.map stands for manifold air pressure and if the ecu cant get a reading it will not start and run.

should be able to take off inside door panel too unhood linkage then there should be a bolt on door jam you should see when you open the door.loosen bolt and slide handle out from the outside.

I'm having the same problem right now, I scanned the car and got the same code po420 (catalytic efficiency below threshold bank 1) it's usually the catalytic converter, but it can also be a oxygen sensor. usually if its the cat converter your car is really sluggish and doesn't have much power, also the floor under the passenger seat gets warm because the cat converter gets really hot and its located in that area under the car. If the car isn't losing power I would check the oxygen sensor after the cat converter and see if that fixes your problem. Good luck.

the 1973 f body fuses are separate for park lamps and dash lamps, so it must be in the light switch itself.

I am also having the same problem with a 96 Firebird. I traced it under the dash, then asked my mechanic. He says it is the turn signal switch.I haven't swaped it out yet, but it's my next attempt. Hope it works.

17 gallon for 3.4L v6 15.5 for a formula v8 Filler neck holds .5 gallons. I was able to put 16.1 Gallons of fuel on a dead empty tank. The .1 may have been what ended up on my shoes however.

Remove wheel, remove the two bolts that hold the caliper to the bracket, use a C-clamp to compress the piston back into the back caliper and then remove from the rotor.

Which engine? V8 18436572, V6 123456, L4 1342 distributor rotation is clockwise for all.

If it is automatic transmission you can use any brand of tranny fluid as long as it is AF fluid. If it is a manual transmission then use dot 3 brake fluid unless you can find clutch fluid, both work the same.

too much, that engine was a POS from the factory, I know I own one. get a nice 350, 400, or 455 Pontiac if you want to go retro. Turbos work just fine on them and there a whole lot cheaper and more reliable than that 301
