How do you replace a wheel bearing on a Montana?

first remove the wheel, then remove the brake caliper, then the caliper mounting bracket.then you need to remove the rotor which should just slide off.then you need to remove the axle spindle nut which is in the center of the rotor, then you need to separate the strut from the back of the spindle by removing the two bolts holding it.once you separate the spindle from the strut then there are three bolts that hold the hub in place that you need to take out from the back side of the hub.you will have to slide the axle in a little bit in order to reach these bolts.once you get these bolts out you will have to gently tap on the hub from the back to get it to come free of the spindle housing. then do the reverse to put it back together.

How do you replace fog lamp bulb on 2004 Montana?

You have to remove the splash guard inside the wheel well to access the lamp 1. Turn the wheel to the outside to access the two screws towards the front of the wheel well. 2. You then need to remove two plastic plugs connecting the wheel well splash guard to a "body side" splash guard. Note that there are two screws that connect the splash guard to the bumper. These screws are accessible from the bottom of the bumper. You may want to jack up the vehicle to gain access to these screws. 3. Now note that I didn't remove the entire wheel well splash guard. By removing the screws at the front I was able to push the guard aside to access the bulb. 4. It was difficult to remove the wire harness cable from the bulb. The plastic clip that secures it in place is much like the one on the headlamp and it is located (at least mine was) towards the bottom of the vehicle. You have to release this plastic clip to disconnect the wire harness. 5. Disconnect the harness 6. Then I had to use a needle nose pliers to rotate the lamp counterclockwise to remove it from the socket. 7. Using the needle nose pliers I then inserted the new lamp, turning clockwise to secure it in place 8. Connect the wire harness 9. Re-connect the splash guard Good luck.

How to replace 2001 Pontiac Montana battery?

My Montana is a 2005; but I believe the set process is the same: 1. Some vans may have a hard plastic "protector" located at the corner. If that is the case, remove it by pushing it up by its clips. 2. You have to remove the round bar. There are two bolts in front and one in the back by hood hinge. The round bar slides out of the relay box. 3. Remove the wire connecting to the relay box to the battery by removing the holding nut. 4. Lay the relay box over - towards the motor. 5. Remove the hold-down bolt located on the backside of the battery at the bottom. 6. Remove the batter posts bolts. 7. Remove old battery. 8. Put new one in and reverse the above steps. Good Job! .

On a 3.4L engine there is a metal adapter bolted to the engine that the upper radiator hose attaches to. It is on the right side and is a nightmare to get to. Many parts must be removed to get the adapter off. The thermostst is inside the adapter.

Location of evaporator drain hose Chrysler 300 m 1999?

Preferrably on a lift, look at the angled body sheet metal that would equate to the engine side of the passenger side floorboard. In a space almost impossible to access (behind (aft of) the right side exhaust downcomer pipe) is a boot/curved hose molding. THAT is your evaporator drain hose. Mine dissappeared and has been allowing condensate to enter the car (which smells terrible.....mold!). I just purchased (today) the hose molding from my local dealer ($11.50 + tax). Now I just have to figure out how to get my big "meat hooks" up into that small space????? The service manager overheard my purchase from the parts dept. and did offer to install it for me if I could leave the car for a couple hours for the exhaust to cool off. I'm going to try myself, but may have to let Chrysler do it for me.

Where is the stage 1 O2 Sensor on a '98 Pontiac Montana?

the stage 1 sensor, actually called the pre-converter sensor, is located in the exhaust system before the catalytic converter. the post-converter is after the catalytic convertor.

AnswerI have a 2003 Montana but I believe it's the same. Official service manuals describe a procedure whereby you disconnect and rotate the entire engine forward, then remove various bits from the top of the engine in order to reach the stage 1 sensor from above. I gave up on that and was able to do it by jacking up the front of the van (please use wheel blocks and appropriate jackstands!), and reaching up from underneath the van along the exhaust pipe. The stage 1 sensor is screwed into the top side of the exhaust pipe, facing slightly rearward, about 3/4 of the way up. Go get a real O2 sensor socket (has a slot on the side for the wire). I guarantee that sensor will be seized up VERY tight, so use the largest socket wrench you can fit up there to get enough leverage. It was a tight fit, and I had to do most of it by feel, but it IS possible. I'm a big guy, 6 foot and I don't have skinny arms, and I was still able to reach up there. Definately use some anti-seize on the new sensor threads!

Make sure that you know which O2 sensor your van needs: the California emissions sensor or the Federal emissions sensor. If you get the wrong one, you won't be able to plug it in (beware of plugging the wrong kind in backwards and thinking that it's done correctly!). Remove the old sensor first and take it with you to the parts store, that way you'll be able to directly match the old plug with the new plug. You can distinguish plugs by looking first at the color of them (Gray was California emissions for me), and then **most importantly** by looking inside the plug itself. There are two differently sized plastic pieces in the plug in the California sensor, and only one in the Federal sensor.

Also, you'll need to buy an O2 sensor socket, and there were two at the auto parts store I went to. Only the short one worked for me. The tall one wouldn't let me get a socket wrench on it without hitting the firewall.

Good luck!!

Why does a 1993 Mazda B2200 make a noise when you shift into 5th gear that decreases as you ease off the gas pedal?

Well it is either one of two things based on my knowledge of these trucks over 23years.It is the throw out bearing is going bad,or the bearings in the tranmission itself are worn.I woulld lean more towards the bearings in the transmission being the noise.I have already had my transmission rebuillt a couple years ago due to noise similar to the throw bearing noise but,a whining sound while in gear normally the higher gear like 3,4,5 on average.A simple check for the throw out bearing noise is to listen to the truck running in neutral and it should be quiet in that position from the transmission if not push the clutch pedal in and it should be definitely quiet. Now if the noise persist while driving it is the bearings in the transmission that are noisy.I base this on my own experience could be something else completely.Just my suggestion.
