More expensive well made fluorescent lights limit the amount of interference and should not be a problem. A loose ground wire will also cause the light to hum and interfere even more. High Intensity lights are best for an unheated garage.
Unfortunatly I have not been able to find a radio station that plays muse songs regularly. If you have satalite radio, you can sometimes get lucky and catch "Uprising" on these stations. "The Blend" and "The Pulse". But that's IT! I have only heard Uprising on the radio! And they barely EVER play it! I think that Muse should be more regularly played on the radio! : D

I had the same problem. The fuse for the radio either needs to be cleaned or replaced I believe it is the third fuse from the bottom on the left side of the fuse box. It effects the relay in some way. I changed the fuse (which was not blown) and cleaned the fuse contacts, haven't had a problem since.

I had the same problem in my 1988 celebrity. All I had to do was look at all the fuses under the steering wheel and replace the burned out fuse that controled the radio. I've discovered that the radio is not only controlled by its own fuse, it also gets power via the courtesy lights fuse. Either one can kill a radio. If the radio is aftermarket, check its own inline fuse if it came with one. Don't forget the ground(s). Some require both the black (negative) wire, AND the chassis to complete its ground.
