Where is starter relay switch 2000 SATURN?

Starter relays are mounted ON the starter. They are a part of the starter and are always replaced when you install a new starter.

In general, it's recommended that you replace them as a pair anyway, since the starter solenoid (relay) and starter motor generally wear out at the same rate.

What would be the problem if you found oil in the back spark plug chamber on a 2000 Kia Sportage?

Answer

Hve you noticed any other leaks like anti freeze spilling into the passanger side foot rest. also if you bought it used if the rad mixture is chalky, someone mixed a sealant compound in to temporarily fix the leaking head gasket? if it is it could very well be a faulty head gasket, once they break oil can get into alot of places. get that checked before you get an 850$ repair job like i did. Goto mechanic asap.

Could be the valve cover gasket leaking there.

the problem is the valve cover gasket on the inside part has let go allowing oilo to leak into the spark plug tubes. Clean oput oil and replace gasket for valve cover.

How difficult of a job is it to replace an intake manifold gasket on a 99' Saturn SL1?

If you have a general automotive knowledge and some metric wrenches and sockets, you should be able to do it. Might take you 1 - 1.5 hrs to remove it. Not to difficult really except that it is behind the engine and some of the lower intake mounting bolts may be tough to see.

What if you cant unlock your drivers side door with your keys recently used a slim Jim to open car because keys were locked in How can you fix this 95 Saturn SL1?

The way door locking mechanisms works is usually done with long metal rods that go to the locking mechanism from the various handles and what not.

What has probably occurred is when the slim Jim was used, it pulled the metal rod free (they are held into the mechanisms with a piece of plastic that is a slip lock.)

Just look at the rod that connects to the key lock and follow it and see if it's unhooked. Yes, you will need to take the inner door panel apart completely.

Where is the starter relay on a 1998 saturn SL2?

The starter relay is attached to, and an integral part of, the starter motor.

The Starter relay is located in the center of the dashboard just under the dash pad. The dash pad can be removed by popping the two screw covers from the inset area of the upper dashboard. Two 7mm screws hold it to the consul frame, while large pressure clips line the very front edge, use a larger flat blade screw driver to remove the clips. remove the upper dash pad and place it in the back seat. pull back the protective foam, and the relay is mounted closest to the firewall just to the left of dead center.

Where can you find the neutral safety switch on my 1995 Saturn SL2?

find where the shift linkage connects to the transmission, on some model cars the neutral safety switch is there, it may be a multi switch also controlling the reverse lights.

Why won't your car recognize it is in park and unlock the key?

This can be a silly problem,

If your car is a console shift (on the floor) there is a cable or other device that will manually be depressed when the shifter if moved forward to the park position.

That is to say that a tab located under your shifter cover that is a part of the steel body of the shifter itself, moves forward and pushes in on a little small button at the end of a cable, the cable is usually "hardmounted" with two nuts that are threaded on a steel jacket at the end if the cable and fully adjustable. if you need a visual look at a set of brakes on a ten speed bike, you can see how the cable is adjustable at the brake body itself. If you back off 1 nut, you can tighten the other to apply more pressure to the cable as the brakes wear in, and the second nut is used as a lock / retainer nut. You will need to remove the center console cover to get a look at the shifter and it's base. If your cable is visible and it should be, if looks like an oversized speedometer cable, it will disappear under the carpet. if you back the nuts off you can remove the cable and try to depress it with your thumb with the key in the ignition to see if that's the problem, (just not being depressed fully to release key) or is there a problem in your steering coloum. If it's the cable, just adjust the nuts so the button if firmer against the shifter tab. This info is limited as i have only encountered this on fords, but i hope i was of some help.

AnswerTry moving the steering wheel back and forth as you try to get the keys out . Mine does this sometimes but the keys come right out with steering wheel movement right ot left. Not the tranie just the key ignition maybe

What is a performance switch on the shifting lever of a 1996 Saturn SL?

Assuming it is automatic, it will make the transmission shift at peak RPMs during acceleration instead of shifting at lower, more fuel efficient RPMs.

AnswerActually, the manual says that it shifts in a firm short manner rather than blending from one gear to another. Personally I can't tell any difference. AnswerWell i have a 95 Saturn sw2 and the manual says that it makes the transmission shift at higher rpms. it reduces gas efficiency but it will make the car go faster.

---------------------------------

When the Performance Shift button is activated the transmission will shift harder, faster, and at higher rpms. The switch resets back into normal mode once the car is turned off.

Correction: on a 1996 it does NOT turn off after restarting. It is a rocker switch that simply stays in the mode you leave it. BTW, I find it makes my '96 SL not only shift harder and jerkier, but it seems to leve it in lower gears (higher rpm) longer, being more reluctant to upshift.

_________________________________________________

The "perf" side of the switch adds just that: performance. It's a setting for the fuzzy logic computer that controls the automatic transmission in the 96-99 Saturn s-series vehicles. Switching it to "perf" will give it a racier shift pattern, and is more sensitive to your movements with the gas pedal. Floor it, and your Saturn may shave 3 seconds off the 0-60 mph time as opposed to when it is set to "norm".

Hope this helps.

How do you replace the tensioner on a 1998 Saturn SL2?

I had the tensioner and belt replaced on my 93 saturn. Before hiring someone I looked into it online. My advice is that unless you have the tools and basic skills for mechanics (the basics yes, the tools no) I would suggest you take it to a mechanic and since you are doing that you might aswell have the serpinine belt replaced and tightened too. Good luck
