As far as i now, having just replaced the water pump on my 90 sunbird LE non-turbo, there are several marks to look for. The first is on the bottom pully which should be alinged with 8 on the plastic timing belt cover. Next after removing the plastic timing belt cover - no simple task as you have have to remove the alternator serpentine belt and tensioner - check that the cam shaft sprocket at the top has its notch at 12oclock which will align it with the 'v' groove in the metal timing belt cover bolted to the engine. If not remove the belt by sliding it off adjst the cam shaft sprocket as mentioned above and put the belt back on. Good luck. PS you may have to remove the passenger side front wheel and inside wheel shroud to better access the lower part of the timing and crankshaft pully. Best bet hit your local library for the Hayes or daynes autorepair manuals.

On a 1993 Mazda Protege, neutral safety switch (also called the shift interlock switch) is located at the top of the brake pedal. It is situated between the headlight relay and the clutch switch.

For a 94-97 (may work for 98) single button remote:

- Flip Valet switch to ON position

- With key in ignition, turn key to ON, then OFF

- Flip the valet switch to OFF, then ON/OFF, ON/OFF (that's twice), and you should hear a confirmation siren chirp.

- Turn the ignition switch On/OFF, ON/OFF (twice), and you should get another confirmation chirp.

- You are now in programming mode. Push button on the remote, and you should hear a chirp to confirm programming completed successfully.

- After 5 seconds, the programming mode will close automatically.

the 3sp is the dog, it has no drain, so need hUGE drain pan.

If your sidekick has automatic locking hubs,step 1 loosen the cover an oil filter wrench works well.2 loosen the 6 mounting screws.3 pull the hub assembly off the end of the half shaft.when installing put a new o-ring,make sure the the tab on the hub,fits into the notch on the spindle.If your hubs are manual,remove the front wheel,remove the caliper,install 2, 8mm bolts into the threaded holes,and tighten evenly.This will remove the rotor from the hub assembly,thread a bolt into the axle shaft,and pull the axle toward you,remove the snapring.then remove the hub. this is right out of the shop manual. Hope this helps.

what motor 8v or 16v

the 8v has 1 , right on top of exh.manifold

the older (pre 96) has 1 at the exhaust collector.

the newer 96+ have 2 , but only the front one controls air fuel ratios.

the rear sender is only a CATCONVerter monitor.

You need to take the valve cover off and set the engine to TDC for #1 and then TDC for #3 and so forth. you NEED a set of feeler gauges, you need the repair maunal to find the proper adjustment clearnces unless it is on your car's engine decal under the hood. (rule of thumb, adjust the valves when engine is under 100 degrees, also there should be a SLIGHT drag of the proper feeler gauge when the its set right.)

The dipstick if you are looking at the engine is on the left side of the valve cover approximately halfway form the front and back. It is located where the cover meets the engine block. The yellow plastic grab loop may be broken off, making it hard to identify the dipstick.

That was exactly where it was on my 1997 Sidekick and it also had been broken off making it difficult to find.

It looked like it was a place to connect for a thermostat or something but no it was the dipstick.

check if you have fuel and spark it needs both to work

driver's side, under the dash. If you remove the left speaker cover and speaker, you should be able to see it and have access to the removal screws
