How do you remove the ignition switch on a 1989 Suzuki Sidekick?
RULE 1, all cars, DEFEAT ALL AIR BAGS first , can kill any mechanic.
89 dont have them but... other read this and get silly.
pull wheel. (yes, the plastics, come off, that is on all cars.so... obvious, no ?)
yes remove the big nut first, and yes, like all cars, use a center punch and mark
the center shaft and wheel so you dont have to do the drive and find center trick.
wheel off.
loosen bottom 4 nuts where column hits fire wall . (at toes) 4 turns each, about.
remove top and bottom covers plastic.
remove column clamp. bolts 2.
column drops.
see antithieft bolts on top, take a small cold chisle and wack them ccw.
they unscrew. , remove lid.
pull switch assembly from column.
now you can work on it. no other way. its is anti-theft protected so pin locks are on the rear.
the puller is , a flat bar or angle iron (HRS) you drill 2 holes that align with
the 2 matching holes in the wheel. the buy 2 long metric bolts. ACE hardware!
bingo , a puller.
details 2, some guys must ham fist it off, banging hard upward with too fits.
wear a hockey mask so nose dont get broke.
this poster below never read my list, it says "remove top and bottom covers plastic." not clear?
Getting started part 1First thing u need to do is remove the plastic from around the steering column and after that u should be able to see the ignition switch inside their and.... well i dont know anything from here on out. good luck. What is the method to connect two hubs together?
you will need a crossover cable to do it. Just plug it in
Gaurav Phade
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You will need a crossover cable to connect hubs that have no uplink ports. However if the hubs have uplink ports you can get away with using a normal CAT5 ethernet cable. Some of the larger TP-Link hubs are usually designed so that every port on the hub can act as an uplink port!

Did look in the glove compartment for the hood release it's not there But thanks?
Hood releases are not in glove compartment, that's trunk release. Hood release is usually on the drivers left side either right underneath the dash board or on the immediate left floor board, of the seat. If it's not in the interior, then look through the grill on the car for the lever and either pull it up or out depending on the car.
AnswerHello There, I just went out and poped my hood with the factory release in the glovebox. It is just inside at the top and slightly to the right of the glovebox door latch. On mine you cant see the release unless you almost put your head in the passanger seat and look up. Have a nice day.actually it's in the glove box on the top right hand side its thing u pull you can't see it but u'll feel it
How to replace front rotors on a suzuki sidekick?
just wondering if anyone can suggest how to remove the rotors on my 96 sidekick>
sure. this wiki has way to many questions. and most are redundant. wheels off , on jack stands. chocks on rear wheels
see rotors. see the 2 screw holes at the rim of the rotor top hat.? insert a 8mm screw in both , turn them evenly. until " pop."
that is it. (all zuks)

Can low compression be caused by faulty ignition coil?
Low Compression is a mechanical problem, not electrical. A poor coil CAN create misfires, jerking, poor mileage, low power, etc. because the spark is insufficient to ignite the gas vapors properly. Coils must be replaced. I had to do so on my 1993 Sidekick and it is not a difficult operation. You can even buy a aftermarket version for much less money than going through a dealer.
As to Compression, that is due to the condition of the cylinders, pistons, valves and rings. A bad compression ring or a leaking valve seat can cause low compression. You might want to have your valve clearances checked. Tight clearances can cause valves to not close properly and therefore "burn" them.
If you can get your hands on a compression tester, test it on each cylinder and record that. Then squirt a bit of oil into the cylinder and try again. If it is higher, it could represent bad rings. Oil burning can also show bad rings and/or loose valve guides especially if it is during initial startup or deceleration. Any of these latter problems must be handled by a qualified mechanic.
Sometimes you can reduce the low compression, at least temporarily, with Restore added to the oil. I have personally used Motor Silk as a long term additive that I feel works. Some people do not. But these additives are only that and cannot repair mechanical failures. Good Luck!

How do you install the timing belt for a 1993 Suzuki Sidekick?
http://www.kick-fix.com/
see timing belt section. for both motors , 8v and 16v.
It is a pretty big job and if you want to tackle it I suggest you get a manual from a parts store for about $18 and it will have pictures and everything. You also will have it for the next repair. Good luck.

What kind of freon to use in a 1991 suzuki sidekick?
I have a '92 and it is Freon 12.
There are a couple of ways to tell.
1. There is a sticker under the hood that will tell the type of freon and the amount.
2. The best way is to look at the freon input connection. Freon 12 is a 1/4" flare fitting and freon 134A is much larger.
A freon 12 system can be converted to 134a with a kit that is very available. They make these kits because freon 12 is unavailable and is now illegal to sell.
What is the millage for replacing the timing chain on a 1997 Suzuki sidekick?
Most 4 cyl. sidekicks should be replaced at 100k.
The timing belt broke and now you can't get your 94 Suzuki sidekick timed what do you do?
http://www.kick-fix.com/t-belt/tbelt.html
no need to buy an FSM or post this answer a million times. so i have it here.
1 time.
valid for 89 -98 1.6L Suzuki' sidekicks and Geo trackers (same motor )
By 'right' I'll assume you mean passenger side.
I think what you are describing is the carbon canister for the fuel emissions system.
Where is check engine reset button on 1991 Suzuki Sidekick?

How do you charge AC system on a 1993 suzuki sidekick jlx?
with or with out destruction of the ionosphere. ahahahaha
your freon has been banned, R12.
in 94 suz went to r134.
so you need to either upgrade (expensive)
or
find a new universal refrigerant type.
common topic , million words on this....
Where can you get R12 freon
first off , don't bother asking a professional to do something illegal.
he will lose his /her license. so he will decline you.
expect that.
what you do in the darkness of your garage is your business.
no surprise what you seek is on Fleebay.
sold as SuperKook and other sexy names.
will say , compatible with r12.
what you will get is Propane.
it works, but don't get in a crash. "crash >>> burn>>>boom"
there are 3 issues. (besides morals) buy , selling and DOING.
the law covers the DOING. IMHO
Google " Freeze-12 " do your one research and make you own decisions.
finding , friendly labor is an other matter.
some pro shops have recycled R12 and is real expensive.
if near Canada one can get it there or done there.
and the best for last.
read carefully
http://action.publicbroadcasting.net/cartalk/posts/list/2125123.page
note how the government actions ,ended up making many just dump their freon 12 in to the air.
how sad that is, another gvmnt boondoggle.
answer 2:
drain out the whole system. using your best method.
pull a vacuum on the system per spec.
add the new oil and r134. (exact amount of r134 is in the FSM of 1994 and 1995 )
the new 134 is slightly less efficient.\
but you will never know the difference.
answered by my sidekick (person not car) how does this (id do only electrics)
a new receiver dryer is important. Moisture in the system is bad news.
