How is trigonometry used in ultra sounds?
The computer processor in the ultrasound machine calculates the angle at which the sound beam left the probe and the angle and speed at which the beam is reflected back at the probe. From this the depth of the reflecting tissue and the shape can be determined based upon simple triagulation, which is a trignometric calculation.
What is 'presenting part' and 'lie' in maternity notes?
the presenting part is the bit of the baby nearest to the cervix - usually the head - in which case it will be recorded as a 'cephalic' or 'ceph' presentation, less often it is the fetal bottom - noted as 'breech' and rarely another unusual presentation such as shoulder/ arm/ foot/ or forehead (brow).
the lie relates to the direction the fetal spine lies in - usually 'longitudinal' or 'long' which means straight up/down, 'transverse' or 'trans' means the fetus is laying horizontally across the womb, and 'oblique' is a diagonal lie.

When and why did people start dividing months into weeks?
People first started becoming educated after farming was invented. Education and passing down knowledge becomes more possible when you stay in one place. Hauling around clay tablets is a little hard for a nomad. When you have shifted from nomadic herding to agriculture, the most important thing you need is a calendar, so you know when to plant your crops. The first "civilized" (or shall we say sedendary) people were the Mesopotamians. They needed to know when to plant their wheat. The religion of that time was very much tied into the stars. People at that time thought that the Sun, the Moon and the Stars were very important. Now, we know that Months are based on the phases of the Moon, because it takes about a month for the moon to go through its different phases. So the question is, "Why are Months divided into Weeks?" Well, here is my answer. Almost every culture in the world decided that seven was the magic number. The reason for this is simple. If you look up at the sky, there are seven special heavenly bodies. The sun, obviously, is very special. The moon, also, is obviously pretty significant. So the Sun and the Moon were assumed to be Gods. But there were five things in the sky that didn't follow the rules. You see, the Sun rises in the East, and sets in the West. The Moon rises in the East and sets in the West. All the stars rise in the East, and set in the West. Well, almost all the stars. You see there are five special stars that don't rise in the East and set in the West. These five stars are of course the five planets which are visible to the naked eye: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. These "stars" dance all over the place---or at least they appear to. That's because they are in the same orbit around the Sun that the Earth is. Consequently, the Astronomer-Priests of the time determined that these five "stars," actually planets, were probably Gods. Hence you have 7 being the perfect or lucky number. Seven then, became the number of the main Gods in most religions. And since most people across the world were astronomers in ancient times (hey, there was no television, and most people spent more time outdoors) you have almost every culture on Earth deciding that seven was a significant number of magic and religion. Consequently, most places had seven major Gods. Therefore, people would worship one God a day. Sunday-worship the Sun. Monday-Worship the Moon. In Spanish, the word for Monday is "Lunes" which you recognize as a form of the word Lunar, meaning pertaining to the Moon. Tuesday--The German god of war, was some guy named Tyr. He was equal to the Greek/Roman God of war Mars/Ares. In fact in Spanish, Tuesday is called "Martes" after "Mars" the God of war. Wednesday is the day of worship for "Wotan" which was the name Saxons gave to the Norse Father God "Odin." Wotansday became Wednesday. Jupiter or Zeus would be the Latin/Greek equilvalent of Wotan. Thursday is of course "Thor's Day". Friday is named after a Norse God named Freyr so it was sort of "Freyr's Day" I think Freyr was some sort of fertility God of the Norse. So in English, most of the names of our days of the week are based on Saxon pronunciations of the Germanic/Norse gods. Your one exception is Saturday. This of course is named after the Roman God Saturn. So that day was Saturn's Day. Every other day of the week is Germanic, except for Saturday. So why is Saturday the odd man out? Well, Saturn's day was usually celebrated by the Romans with a rip snorting no holds party called Saturnalia. Any one in the Roman Empire who saw the Roman Troops party down on that holiday was noticibly impressed. The German God of the Underworld was a ugly girl named Hel, whose father was the Norse troublemaker Loki, and whose mother was a wolf. And the Norse underworld was freezing cold, not hot. So Hel sat all day long on a block of ice. So English people had a choice of calling Saturday, Helday after Hel, or they could name it after this great partyday Saturnalia. Guess which one they chose as more memorable. So there you have it: Why a week has seven days.
I replaced the crank position sensor in my 90 Lumina 3.1L! It was on the back side of the motor and with a little patience I was able to R & R!! I went from the bottom of the engine between the block and transmission! I didn't have to removed any splash guards or other items just needed patience
ANSWER......... It's in a hard to find place; got it from under the car, its in between the oil pan and the trany. At the top of the oil pan in the block on a downward angle. There are two other thinges in the block just above it to the right. (looking from under the car)
Why would a 92 Dodge Colt E100 not start after sitting for five months?
Check to see if your getting fuel at the Multi Point Injection Intake disconnect the Fuel line and then turn the ignition on and see if your getting fuel coming out of that line. If not then you have a fuel pump problem. I discovered with my 92 Dodge Colt that after it sat at my mechanics place for seven months and I finally got it back cause he never fixed it, the fuel pump doesnt work now and the tank got drained empty so I suspect the pump got corroded or rusty because of the tank being empty. You have to see if it is getting fire and fuel and has compression. The gas is porbably bad and neeeds replaced.
What are the fluid levels for a Harley Davidison 1989 1200 Sportser?
levels are 20w 50 oil, synthetic is best, change filter, add 3 quarts 20w50 in oil tank,, then drain primary which also feeds transmission, replace drain plug and add 1 quart of same 20 w 50 in primary, it used to be a separate special primary oil. but now it is changed to simplify the procedure, so for complete oil change you need to buy 4 qts 20w50 3 for oil tank 1 for primary and an oil filter,. hope this helps
jc
For tactical use, no. The frequencies are too high to be used for anything tactical. They are often used as part of machines for cleaning mechanical parts aboard ship though. Submarines use sonar (sound navigation and ranging), in much the same way that airplanes use radar (radio detection and ranging).

When does life startFirst breath or first heart beat?
This may best be answered with another question, Does a being that has a heart beat live. When cells divide and start the construction of a being is that being alive. Is an adult more alive then a new borne. or is a 100 year old more alive then a 30 year old. the answer probably lays in the convenience of the beholder. RB LIFE starts at conception.........way before first breath or heart beat. Without LIFE the seed cannot grow..it is alive, it is LIFE.
If you have your show does that mean that your baby is engaged?
With most women, yes. Only a small percentage of women will find that the baby's head is not engaged by the time labour starts.
If two scans early in pregnancy say the same they are extremely accurate. Your pregnancy gestation was 14 weeks and 1 day as pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last period (if you have a 28 day cycle) it was 12 weeks from conception.
My aunt and uncle grandpa and two sets of cousins are twins What are my chances of having twins?
There are two primary types of twins, Identical and Fraternal.
Identical twins occur when the egg splits after fertilization. To date no indication of a genetic link has been found.
Fraternal twins occur when more than one egg is dropped during ovulation. This trait can be inherited from the mother's side of the family. Studies have shown that the chances are also increased by being overweight or older.
Is it bad for a vehicle not to be driven for three weeks?
Three weeks is no biggie. If it makes you feel better disconect the battery before storage and check the tire pressure and oil level in addition to leaks under the vehicle before driving again. Longer storage will require you to empty the fuel tank and change the oil right before storage.
How can you improve the chances of having twins?
There are two primary types of twins, Identical and Fraternal.
Identical twins occur when the egg splits after fertilization. To date no indication of a genetic link has been found. Anyone has a chance, though small, of having identical twins.
Fraternal twins occur when more than one egg is dropped during ovulation. This trait can be inherited from the mother's side of the family. Studies have shown that the chances are also increased by being overweight or older.
Is their a big difference in a 5wk ultrasound scan and 7wk and 5 days scan?
Yes. The ultrasound at five weeks will show the yolk sac. The fetus may or may not be visible yet as a small tube shape. By seven to eight weeks, the scan will show a little triangular shape embryo with the body cavities visible, and a beating heart.
If there was no buoyancy in fluids would everything sink in fluid?
Buoyancy is not a characteristic of fluid but rather it is the upward force on the object that the fluid provides. The only way a fluid could have an effect similar to no buoyancy is if it couldn't provide an upward force great enough to provide the object to stay on top of the fluid.
