It could be that the oil pressure switch has failed and caused the oil lamp to come on,this is common and easy to fix.Initially though,check the oil level,and if low, top it up to max. You don't state what car or engine but the lamp means low oil pressure and a big bill if you continue to drive without investigation. Some cars when servicing is poor,will by-pass a blocking oil filter and trigger a warning,you may just need an oil and filter change?

1.-You need two keys, if you only have one key then you can go to the dealership and pay close to $20 for one with the Volkswagen logo or less than $2 for a generic one.

2.-Take the control remote that you want to program (I have three controls in total). With one of the keys turn the car on without turning the engine on, just so the radio works.

3.-Then, introduce the second key in the driver's door and turn it all the way to the LEFT and hold it there until there are two beeps (about 10 seconds.)

4.-Then press a button on the remote control, press any of the buttons or keys.

To test the remote remember to remove the key in the ignition key.

I had the other two remotes in my pocket and they were all programmed at the same time. Also, one of the toggle keys in one of my remotes was not working, so I opened it and saw that the button to open the trunk was broken off, so I soldered it to the board and now it is like new.

I feel that is very fair business practice that if I buy a remote from the dealership the programming would be included, and that if I take my control to them to be reprogrammed they would do it for free with the hope that I will gain trust on their fairness and come back to do my work with them. Right now I will avoid their service unless absolutely necessary, and will share my experience with all my e-mail and Facebook contacts.

So the moral of my story . . . is to be wary of the mechanical services at the dealership.

Take it to A shop if you are not familiar with mechanical repairs, It sounds like you may have A bad wheel bearing.

I believe you will find it has a chain instead of a belt. You did not list the year so I cannot say for sure.

from recent experience of a few 2.0 AGG engines, you should get between 18 and 25 around town, 25 and 40mpg motorway, dont believe WHICH or GLASSES figures as they are incorrect and just an average!

lower control arm is where the camber and caster adjustment is. you cannot change camber without changing caster. the vehicle has to be aligned. to answer the ? the front bolt on lower control arm. to raise pull under to lower slide out

My MX6 was just doing this on the way home. If I stepped on the gas, braked, or turned it would stop. The frequency of the knocking noise would increase with the speed, but seemed louder the slower I was going. The brakes were just done last week. Anyway, in my case the wheel lug nuts were loose, I could just unscrew them by hand! I will be calling the garage tomorrow to let them know.

The oil pressure will depend on the condition of the engine. If you have 10 lbs at idle when engine is hot with this mileage, you are within specs. I would use 10W-30 oil. oil pressure of 10lbs and up is acceptable at hot idle. i like to use havoline 30wt oil. have never had a problem with it.

it could be that the fuel isn't coming up due to it all draining back to the tank and if you are trying to start it with the 5 year old fuel in it then the fuel could be dead so try draining it and put fresh in,and if the fuel side of it is ok then check for spark.

Switch on the ignition the release the stalk.

Then TURN the stalk from under the taco clockwise and hold in position. Horizontal dashes should appear in the odometer.

Finally switch off the ignition whilst holding the taco stalk in the clockwise position.

The system has now been reset. When you switch on the ignition the service message should be cleared. Not a job for a one armed person ! Let us know if this works as I have never used this method.

I see no listing for the Daewoo Matiz. Other Daewoos are all Interferance engines, and as such if the belt breaks severe engine damage will occur. It may be the DMF has gone, mine did the same. The DMF is the dual mass flywheel, when its replaced the clutch has to be replaced as well, so its an expensive job (£1000+), luckily I had only just bought the car so the dealer paid under warranty. Best to take it to a VW place and get them to check...
