How do you remove the intake manifold on a 1988 vw jetta?
Just an update, we didn't want to take the time in removing the fuel system so we held it to the side and unscrewed the 8 bolts holding the intake in, after that it was pretty simple to detach the intake manifold and "finagle" it out. However, i did run into a problem with the chosen header going in to replace the old exhaust manifold and had to grind the outsides of the intake manifold around the bolt holes in order to make the exhaust manifold fit correctly.

Why won't a car start when it's cold?
The majority of the time this is due to the "Cold Cranking Amps" in your battery. Most batteries are only good until it gets down to a certain temperature. After the temperature reaches or goes below the minimum temperature, the car isn't going to start. Generally speaking, the battery will tell you on it's sticker or label how many "Cold Cranking Amps" your battery has (aka CCA Rating), and what temperature is the minimum temperature the car will be able to start at. Most of the time, it's limited to 0oF.
More information:
There may be water mixed with your fuel. water + cold = frozen fuel. get some HEET from a local gas station to remove water from your fuel during the cold months.

How much does a new pool cost?
You are not going to get a good answer until you put in all the perameters that you want in, on, around your pool, pool equipment. Type of finish in the pool, type of decking, automated elaborate systems to run and manage the pool. Do you want round, rectangular, oval, free form, lap pool, extra deep end for diving, rocks or fountains, fire pits, slides, diving board, landscaping, lighting, fiberglass, plaster finish, vinyl lined, type of fencing, pool covers ( bubble, bubble with a reel system, automatic with hydraulic open/close system). Do you want to have the pool equipment enclosed with a fence or a shed or a some sort of building or do you want the equipment in your garage? With the lighting, - do you want low cost low voltage, or conventional and elaborate lighting in and around the pool? What about a sanitizing system - salt, etc. -- automatic pool cleaner? Well, I think you get the idea.

Why key wont go into ignition?
Try moving the steering wheel back and forth. Usually the wheel locks itself when the key is out so the holes become misaligned
"Spark plugs are typically designed to have a spark gap which can be adjusted by the technician installing the spark plug, by the simple mechanism of bending the ground electrode slightly to bring it closer to or further from the center electrode. The belief that plugs are properly gapped as delivered in their box from the factory is only partially true, as proved by the fact that the same plug may be specified for several different engines, requiring a different gap for each. It can depend on the engine: new spark plugs might be pre-gapped for a V-8 engine, installing all 8 plugs unchanged; however, for a 6-cylinder engine, all (6) plugs would be re-gapped." strait from wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spark_plug

Also has 2 multiplugs attached to it big one has 4 female spade connectors within numbered for your convenience 1 through 4 looking at engine bay from front of van Left to Right, 1 2 3 4 glow plugs/cylinders. Can test with a multi meter set to ohms value of 200milli (next one up from the continuity beep test notch). Test each plug from spade connector to earth (can use the allu lump to right of engine) should get a reading for good glow plugs of 0.6milliohms anything lower than .3 to 000 and they want replacing (can be one bi*ch of a job).

2000 VW Jetta air bag light stays on?
I have a 2000 VW Jetta.I was driving and the air Bag light came on.For no obivious reason.Thank you
I had this happen on my 2001 VW GTI, the dealer said the sensor was dead in the seat belt female end, I had it replaced.
The light come on when the system detects a problem and sets a trouble code. You should have it diagnosed by a trianed technician. The airbag system is not for do it yourselfers.
The light is on because there is a problem with the air bag system. When the air bag light is on the system is not working and will not deploy in the event of an accident. When the air bag light is on the system has set a code(s) in the computer. A scanning device can retrive the code(s). The code(s) will give you a clue where the problem is. Many auto parts stores will read the code(s) from your vehicles computer for zip if you purchase the parts necessary to repair the vehicle from them.

How do you replace the alternator on a 1999 Hyundai Sonata 6-cylinder GLS and where is it located?
It will come out of the engine compartment through the top in the left rear corner as you are looking from the front. You will have to take a wiring harness loose and bend a little metal piece up that was holding the wiring harness. It's a tight fit but it will come out. You do not have to take out the pivot bolt just loosen it up and then it lifts straight up out of the bracket it slides through. I found that to be the hardest. If you remove the right front tire and the plastic housing in the wheel well you can get to the bracket easier.
