Refrigerators and other kitchen appliances usually don't come with wheels but are equipped with what are called elevator bolts. The bolts are adjustable to, well, elevate (or lower) a corner of the appliance on which they are installed. They have threads, and they screw up into the bottom of the frame of the appliance. They have a round, flat pad on the bottom for a head, and it is sometimes capped with a little rubber boot. The weight of the appliance is supported on the heads of the elevator bolts. At the bottom of the elevator bolt just above the round base is a hex shaped shoulder that is specifically shaped and located so that an open end wrench can be slid in to turn it. With an appropriately sized wrench (and a torpedo level, if one is so inclined) a fridge or other appliance can be set (so it won't wobble on its feet) and leveled within a few minutes.

Yes, balancing is matching the tire to the rim. No two tires or rims are exactly the same and so balancing is always required when mounting a different tire to a rim.

Take your vehicle to a tire repair shop, or service center that specializes front end alignments and wheel balancing. They will remove the wheels, put them on a machine, and check that they are balanced. They might also verify if there is too much wear on a particular section of the tire that might cause problems and require rotating or replacing your tires.

If your vehicle alignment is in specs, nothing. Just keep your tires rotated every 6,000mi on average and everything would be fine. Of course, if the alignment is out of specs, you are going to have adverse tire wear leading to premature replacement. No way to tell unless it's put on a machine and the alignment verified. Rotating tires religiously is the best way to ward off most adverse tire wear. This is one of the most neglected services I see on a daily basis. Buy your tires where they honor FREE lifetime rotations, rebalance and flat repairs and life is good. They will normally look after your brakes, front end, and other points of interest while performing these services as well at no charge. Of course this is where they make their most money on the mechanical side of repairs. But it's nice to know someone is looking after your safety and that they care. If you are floored by their findings, just take the estimate and tell them you will take it under consideration. Hope this maintenance insight helps.

Shocks and struts are more for the ride not the alignment. Tie rods, ball joints and how the front end is adjusted are the alignment. Jack the front end of the car off the ground. Grab the wheel at the top and bottom and see if it wiggles. If it does, that is the ball joints. Grab the sides and do the same. That is the tie rods, idler arm, pitman arm or drag link on rear wheel drive. Tie rods or the steering rack on front wheel drive. Having someone wiggle the wheel while looking at the steering linkages should let you see which part is worn.
