What is the trick for removing the starter, from the engine, I have the starter unbolted but has a small compartment that stops me removing it from the engine?
Probably on the bottom of the timing cover on the front of the engine.

You will need to remove the tire and wheel of your 1998 Oldsmobile. Remove the brake pad assembly. Tap on the brake rotor with a hammer or mallet. Slide the brake rotor off. Reverse the process to install the new rotor and pads.
Remove the Digital Insturment Cluster from the dash. Take it apart and check the solder connections on the 14 pin IC chip located on the printed circuit board. This is the most likely cause. Resolder the pins. If that dosent work, resolder every thing on the board. Other than leaking capacitors ive never found anything wrong in these units other than broken solder connections. Usually the unit will flicker on and off depending on ambient temperature and bumps in the road or hitting the dashboard. This is due to broken solder connections on the Integrated Circuit (IC) listed above.
Hey Kevin==It depends on your engine but I think it is on the fromt by the balancer. GoodluckJoe the crank sensor is on the back of the block above the starter motor It has a green 2-wire connector to it.
It is called the ambient air sensor and it costs 3.50..Open your hood and the sensor it located between the grill and the radiator. It is black and can be seen when looking down in that area.It is not easy to get out but small hands make it easier..I fished mine out with my fingers and replaced in less than 3 minutes
After you have fixed the issue that caused your check engine light to come on, you can use a pocket scanner to erase the code, but this causes your computer to reset and during an inspection will cause many unready codes failing the inspection. You must drive your bravada 5 miles at a non-stop 55miles an hour to clear the computer, sometimes it just takes a few days of driving to get the reset to clear all codes but normally the 5 miles at 55mph will do the trick.
If the secondary air injection failure code comes up you shold propably check the air pump fuse. I think it is call the air pump. The fuse is rather big. Sometimes water gets into the air pump and causes it to trip out. the fuse is loacated on the front pasengerside close to the bumper. Some people say that you will know that the fuse is out on the air pump because the hood light goes out. That's not really true in all cases.
You have to take the inside door panel off to get to the bolts. To take that off start by popping off the plastic trim piece inside of the interior door grab handle with a small screw driver. Take those two screws out and then take out the plastic keeper that looks like a screw that is behind the actual latched handle. This is done by actually backing it out like its a real screw until it comes out. After that take that plastic piece out that has the handle and the lock cased in it out by prising on one side of it(it just pops in). Then take the trim piece that the window controls are in apart from the door panel. Now start at the bottom of the door and start pulling the door panel away from the door. Sometimes its hard to get it but its just little plastic keepers that hold it so pull hard. Once you have it pulled away everywhere but on the top, lift the panel straight upward to pull it out of the window slot. Now just look for three black rubber/foam plugs right across from the mirror on the inside of the door and pull them out. Your bolts for the mirror are right inside of those holes. Just do everything in the opposite order that i described to put it all back together.
my best friend owns a 92 bravada with a 4.3 vortech v6. he was getting around 6 to 8 miles to the gallon. There were two types of injection systems used for those years. multi-point and center port. his was center port. this is by far the worst injection system ever used, hence its very short production. we found out through diagnostics that the injector was leaking fuel inside the plenum and causing a very dangerous fuel puddle to develop. three cylinders were being starved so the CPU tried to compensate by dumping more fuel. Obviously, this only made it worse. its not difficult to fix, but it could be expensive. the injector alone was almost three hundred dollars. but, this is something you can fix yourself with a few common hand tools and a couple of hours. you only have to remove the upper intake plenum, which is easily accessed, disconnect the feed hoses from the injector, transfer them to the new one, and repeat the steps in reverse. be sure to connect ALL sensors to their rightful places before trying to start the motor. and your good to go!
In the 1996 and up 4.3 they have Central Sequantial Fuel Injection there is no spider assembly and you are able to replace each injector. These injectors have poppets that can leak and cause higher fuel consumption. Leaky fuel pressure regulator.
Typically a inconsistent heating in cars is caused by a low coolant level. Most heater hose takeoffs are on the top side of the engine, so if the fluid level is low the last place for the coolant to flow is through the heater hoses.
I have seen this on various makes and models. It is by far the cheapest thing to try too.
Refer to your Chilton's repair guide/get a Chilton's repair guide.
there is a fuse, but 9 out of ten times it will be the motor.
It means that the vehicle cannot be repaired economically (it is a total wreck). The frame is the chassis onto which all the other parts of the vehicle are attached and it's alignment is crucial for the correct inter-operation of the various parts of the vehicle, the way the vehicle moves on the road etc. when the frame is bent you cannot expect the vehicle to work properly.

I FOUND THE ANSWER @...bimmerfest.com/forums. UNDER REPROGRAM THE CHEVROLET GARAGE DOOR OPENER. WORKED FOR ME. CHECK IT OUT.
on the driver door there is a few buttons if you look down. there usally at the bottom of the door but it depends on what kinda car you have.
