I think that has coil packs. Them good? Under them is the ECM. I changed one at 240,000 miles on my 91. Junk yard had it for 20 bucks. I just replied to someone on here about how to change it. Its not the easiest, its on the back of the motor at the base of the spark plug wires. But 1.5 hrs later I got it.
How do you bleed the brakes for a 1991 Chevy Cavalier wagon?
If it has antilock/traction control system, you have to have a professional bleed them for you.
You need: A new bottle of approved brake fluid. A box-end wrench that fits the bleeder valves. A hose that fits over the bleeder valve. A can or jar. A helper.
Take the cover off the master cylinder. It's divided in two sections. One for the rear brakes and one for the front. Make sure it's full. If it gets too low, it will suck in air - then you'll have to start all over again.
Start at the furthest wheel from the master cylinder (rear passenger side). Have your helper push and hold the brake pedal down. Now open the bleeder valve and let the fluid squirt out into the jar/can (small hose over end of bleeder valve). The brake pedal should now go down all the way to the floor. When it's done squirting, tighten the valve again. Tell your helper to release the brake pedal and pump it a few times. Next, tell them to push and hold down the pedal again. Open the valve and let it squirt out. Close the valve. Let go of brake pedal. Pump brakes . . . Keep doing this on each wheel until you don't hear or see any air bubbles coming out of the valve and the fluid looks clean.
Next, do the drivers side rear, then the passenger side front, then finally the drivers side front.
Make sure you keep checking the fluid level in the master cylinder. As you bleed the brakes, you'll have to keep topping it off.
Replace cover on master cylinder (push in the rubber balloon/accordion things under the cover - these pop out as your fluid level gets low).
Dispose of left over brake fluid. Don't save it. Once you open a can, the fluid absorbs water and it's no good after a while.
Check brake pedal movement. It should not go to the floor and feel strong.
Check for leaks. Test drive the car. Slow at first (just to make sure).

How do you find out the engine size for a 1989 Chevy Cavalier?
There were only 2 engines available in the '89 Cavalier. If it's a 4cylinder, it's a 2.0liter If it's the V-6, then its a 2.8liter. There also should be a sticker on the radiator core support. Also the 2.8 has it stamped on the plenum chamber, top of the motor.
Where the coolant level sensor is located?
Normally in the coolant reservoir recovery tank.
If you have the supercharged model it is located on the radiator beneath the filler cap and oil cooler lines.
Where is the heater core located on a 2000 Concorde and how can you fix it?

How do you adjust the brakes on stx38?
I found this while trying to do mine. I just finished 5 minutes ago and here's how I did it.
I jacked up the back end (I just shoved an old car rim under the rear transaxle, but a floor jack would work better) I removed the rear wheel (twist and pull on yellow plastic center cap, remove clip, pull off wheel -- keep an eye on square steel key)
There just in front of the rear axle is the tiny little 2" brake disc. there are 2 bolts and a nut in the center of the bracket over top of the brakes. It may just need adjusted. Tighten the center nut a few turns. Check the brakes then. Once you see where this nut is you can do it without jacking up the rear and removing the rear wheel. For the first time yank the wheel.
If you can't fix it by adjusting, remove the center nut and the two bolts on either side. Slide all that off and the little rectangular brake pad should fall out. There's one on the other side as well.
Good Luck!
Where is the radiator drain petcock on a 1999 Chevy Cavalier?
I just found it on my daughters 1999 with a 2.2 liter engine. It is located on the driver's side, front side, of the radiator at the bottom. If you lay on the ground in front of the car, and push up the rubber body piece under the lower grill on the drivers side, you will see a round green piece with small ears, I thought you had to twist it, but it is not threaded in, it is popped in with an "O" ring. just grab it with small pliers and gently pull it out and the antifreeze comes out a side port and I used a regular open-faced oil pan to catch everything, it just slid right up under the car.
How do you replace the heater core on a 1998 Chevy Cavalier?
Caution:On models equipped with Delco-Loc 2 or Theftlock audio systems make sure you have activation code * Disconnect the negative battery cable * Drain the cooling system * Disconnect the heater hoses at the heater core inlet and outlet on the engine side of the firewall and plug the open fittings * From the inside of the car remove the lower right dash insulator panel and the glove box * Disconnect the ducts from the heater cover * Remove the instrument panel from the passanger compartment * Remove the heater core cover * Remove the heater core clamp bolts and clamps then slide the heater core out carefully * Installation is reverse of removal
on most cars the motor bolts on to the tracking system in the door so you might want to just take it all out oon mine we jus drilled out the rivits and "screwed some screws" into the new motor. JUST MAKE SURE IT'S ALIGNED B-4 ALL IS TIGHT!!
Where is the fuel pump fuse or relay located on a 1993 Plymouth Voyager?
Why doesn't Cavalier cruise control work?
There are two switches operated by the brake pedal. Both have to work for the cruise to work. One is for the brake lights the other is the switch that lets you take the car out of park. Both switches are normally closed. The easy way to check the park switch is to try to shift out of park without having your foot on the brake pedal, if it shifts out of park this switch is bad. Be careful the car will move.
Also check to see if the Cruise Control connector is still connected. That is inside the steering column and is about a 9/16 socket to remove depending on the year of the car, and the number of machine bolts. On a 97 there are 3 I think, I just pulled mine off around Christmas to replace my heater core.
Although the easiest thing is to check to see if the fuse is blown in the car.
Where do you put radiator sealant in a 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier?
**I meant to add that the radiator cap is not to be found on this vehicle. Can it go into the coolant fill tank?
Why would the temperature on a 1993 Plymouth Voyager 30 go up when parking and not when driving?
Because when your moving, air is moving at the radiator, cooling it down, thus cooling your coolant down, thus cooling your motor temperature down causing the coolant temperature sensor to pick up a lower reading and relaying it to the gauge. Depending on how high it is in "Park" you may have poor circulation, a broken or missing fan shroud, weak water pump impellers, low coolant, inactive coolant fans or a bad fan clutch.
I have had the same problem occur on the same year Passat. Previously I had fixed this myself, but this morning it would not lock again.
This is my first fix, I will follow this up with what my new plan on attack will be.
First you must remove the internal felt covering that is on the inside of the trunk. This does take some force, but don't be afraid to pull hard, you will most likely not break any of the attachments on the felt cover. On the right hand side of the truck there is a handle right next to the license plate, it will take some finagling to get this to disconnect. Again, brute force dexterity and a flashlight are your best bet.
You will then need a metric wrench to remove the lock mechanism itself. Remember to support the lock once removed, it is connected to a power supply that released the lock when locked. If you look inside you will be able to see if the spring is broken. I then strung a rubber band around the small arm of the locking mechanism itself. You can fit this on the "arm" from the lock and as I recall then around one of the screws sticking out the back of the lock.
I have not been able to take apart my trunk yet, but I surmise that the rubber band broke. My next attempt will be to find a small "pony tail" holder to which I believe will be more sturdy than the rubber band.
My guess is that something strong and manufactured will last longer than a rubber band.
Good luck to you and me!!
How do you replace torque strut mount on a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier?
Some people call it the "Dogbone" mount. Because that is what it resembles. It is located underneath the engine on the passenger side. It prevents the engine from spinning around when you give it gas and go.Simply remove the 2 bolts (15mm i belive) that mount it,knock it out with a hammer or pry it out with a screw driver(your choice), put in the new mount, put the two bolts back in and go...simple.
How do you replace the belt tensioner on a 1999 dodge durango?
I did this a few years ago on my 2000 Durango. This was very straightforward and a little difficult. Bought the part from the dealer - about $135 if I remember correctly. I then just removed the serpentine belt and unbolted and removed the existing tensioner. This was easy so far. I then tried to put the new one in. Very difficult to get the bolts in. Tried removing brackets in the way - this didn't really help. I just kept at it and finally got everything together. Good luck. I did this a few years ago on my 2000 Durango.
