Open the trunk and pull down the carpet on the left wall. It should be there. It is usually a box about 6" x 3" and about 1.5" high, with a single plug in the center. The plug is virtually square in shape.
The click is the starter solenoid going over but it's not sending main battery power to the starter motor. If it's a preengaged motor (with the solenoid on top of the motor) then the only thing to check is that the very thick (black) cable is tightly fastened to the motor. If that's OK, then suspect the motor. You sometimes can fix this by giving the starter motor a good tap with a club hammer to free up the mechanism. If the solenoid is fastened to the inner wing somewhere then check the thick cable is connected to the solenoid AND the motor. You can test this one by using an old spanner or screwdriver and short out the two large terminals - BE VERY CAREFUL - take the car out of drive first. Also, this will spark a LOT - mind your eyes. In both cases, check the thick battery cables are connected tightly to the battery and that the earth straps are OK. VERY BAD IDEA!!!! NEVER short out a battery!!!! It's quite possible that you just need a new battery. I've seen it many times where there is plenty of juice to power the lights and radio, but not enough to start the car. (It takes hundreds of amps to start a car, but only 10 amps to run the radio). Could also be the starter solenoid as suggested in the previous post, but please use a battery tester instead of a screwdriver to test a battery.

You have to press TA & TP together, then the 1000 appears and you enter the code using the 1-4 buttons then press TA & TP again to confirm (it's a BETA 4 radio).
If it is the current Beta proceed as follows: 1. Switch on: Display reads "SAFE" 2. Enter code using button "1" to enter the first digit of code, button "2" to enter the second digit etc. 3. When all 4 digits of the code are correctly display, press either the manual setting rocker (>) or the search (>>) button for more than 2 seconds. Then release. 4. The radio should then play. If it does not, press either the "FM" or "CC" button. Hope this helps.

I recommend getting the manual since there are many more things you will need it for in the future.

I think I can speak from personal experience here: here at Eaglehawk we have just had bushfires that destroyed 50+ houses. Among other things, we were all explicitly told to listen to the radio, preferably portable (ie battery-powered) for news and updates about the fires. TV:- We found that TV was next to useless because we didn't want to see a pretty talking head showing what had happened on the other side of the State: we wanted to know what was happening right now right where we were and TV couldn't do that. - there was inteference and if anything happened to the antenna it was useless.
