Strip off all the inner trim of the tailgate. undo all wiring clips and remove as much of the wiring loom as possible. Then tape all plugs tightly to the wiring loom and pull the remaining loom bacwards through the tailgate at th point where it enters from the body of the car. Then unclip the air struts by removing the spring clips from the ball joint of the strut and pulling them off (tailgate has nothing holding it open now so use a broom or piece of wood to jam it open before doing so). remove the pins from the hinges or unbolt the hinge from the tailgate depending on how it is fitted. It helps if 2 people are doing the job.

I've had a V6, 2005 model year Mazda 6 sport wagon (storm blue, if that matters) for about 2 and a half years. I've kept every single gasoline receipt, and monitor my mpg religiously, so this should be as accurate is it gets:

I drive highway 75% and city 25% of the time, semi-aggressively: left-lane-no-one-passes-me t,ype of driver commuting to/from work but otherwise going with the flow. My overall mileage for a tank hovers around 22-24 mpg. I've had highway trips that got me over 28 mpg, and entire weeks jumping around NYC that put me at just under 20 mpg.

Ouch!...now there's a question. The problem with figuring cost per mile is that there are so many different kinds of "costs" associated with operating an aircraft. For instance, you can have a basic operating cost that only looks at the cost of crew, fuel, supplies for a particular flight, or you can also calculate in fixed costs associated with operating the aircraft such as lease (or interest) costs, insurance, maintenance, etc. Then, too, crew costs vary from operator to operator and expendable items such as fuel and oil can vary wildly from week to week, so a reliable total cost can be pretty hard to calculate. To give you a rough idea, however, we can look at fuel cost per mile for a 747-400 Freighter. Average fuel usage is around 3,200 gph and it cruises at around 585 mph, so a rough average fuel usage for a 747 would work out to around 5.5 gallons per mile. However, we're still left with figuring the cost of the 5.5 gallons of jet fuel, and that again depends on what price the operator is able to buy the fuel at. Today's fuel prices, depending on where and when it was purchased, can range from $3.50 to $5.50 per gallon and more. So, if we guess at an average of $5 per gallon, we get a cost for fuel of $27.50 per mile. This is a very rough figure for fuel costs only, and doesn't include any of the many other costs associated with operating the aircraft. Hope that helps some...

In the show, it is never stated what engine the General has but here are some facts so you can make up your own mind. The best look you get at "the" engine in the General Lee is in the episode "Happy Birthday General Lee". In this episode you see a big block Mopar engine on an engine stand but it's not a detailed enough shot to tell if it is a B or RB block. So in theory, that engine could be any Chrysler big block, including the 350 (YES! Chrysler did build a 350), 361, 383, 400, 413, 426 (wedge not Hemi) or 440. In reality, the only B and RB engines found naturally in a '69 Charger were the 383, 440 and Hemi. So you can safely narrow that engine on the stand down to a 383 or 440. A little more reality rears its ugly head and we find out that the engine on the stand was a seized motor that they painted up for that shot and was not actually put into a General. So what engine did "the" General have in it? The close-up car, the car you were "supposed" to see when the hood was up (although you see the hood opened on many non-close-up cars with various engines), has a 383 in it. Of the surviving cars, the vast majority have 383s but a couple have 318s and 440s. So again, if you have to pick a "the" engine, I'd go with the 383 in the close-up car.

On the cars that went up on 2 wheels it had a 315 because it was lite. The close up cars had a 318 and the cars they did the jumps with had the 440 because the stunt men like the power.

I always figured it was the 426 hemi or 440.

The impeller is either clogged with something, your filter is clogged or your pump motor has a defect. The pump is working very hard so it heats up. You said you vacuumed? My bet is on the clogged filter!

Well, the filter, the large tank, would never have aburnt smell. Ya gotta be talkin' about the pump motor. Turn off the motor, get down and sniff towards the back side of the motor being careful not to put your hand on the motor as it may be hot to the touch. If the motor smells like burning wires then the motor may be getting ready to crash. How old is the motor? Did you empty the pump basket after vacuuming? A dirty filter usually will not cause the motor to burn.

So, the peak power output of ONE engine is approximately 30,000 hp.
