Car Shaking Problems

Car shaking problems are usually the results of mechanical problems. Out of adjustment tires or suspension will make the car shake after reaching a certain speed. Warped brake rotors will also make the car shake when it’s slowing down.

Yes, If you hit something. Rotors are very essential in stopping, that's what the brake pads are pressed in against to bring your car to a complete stop.

Camry shakes when braking what's wrong?

I have 98 4 cyliner automatic Toyota Camry. When I'm coming to a red light, and when I'm braking, the car begins to shake, and the shake doesn't stop even when the car is stopped. Howeverif i switch the transmission from drive to neutral, the car stops shaking. If I switch back to Drive or reverse, it car starts to shake again. What could be wrong?

Your 98 Chevy truck 1500 rear drive Has a shake when braking or turning 45 mph or faster Has new brakes shocks tires and still shakes Could this be a ball joint or tie rod?

If your truck is 4wd, it might be your front axles. A mechanic pushed & pulled on it & heard the noise it did. He told me it was fine. The shake you have on the rear end is the same problem I have. I have replaced all 4 tires, u-goints, shocks, front hub bearings, & so on. The trany, & drive shaft is not @ fault like the book will tell you on trouble shootings. Accidently, I blew out my left rear tire. I put my spare on & it actually went away. My truck recomends light truck tires & my spare is a passenger tire. I do not like the passenger tire but now I have narrowed down my search. If you raise the rear end, have someone get it to speed when it shakes & watch your lief springs & the tires. Then take the tires off (don't forget to have 2 lug nuts holding the drum in place) Sure hope this helps you.

Why does your car wobble?

Check the tires for being round. Sometimes a belt will slip and make the tire egg shaped.

What happens when the emission light turns on in a 2001 Ford Focus?

What does a bad tie rod sound like?

A bad Tie rod usuallydoesn't SOUND like anything, but some good indicators that you have a bad tie rod are incorrect alignment, and uneven tire wear on your front tires.

What causes the right front driver side tire to shake like it's coming off?

First, check the lug nuts and wheel bearing... maybe it really IS coming off.

If both of those are okay, next check the CV joint. Typically a CV joint that's worn that bad will have a torn or damaged "boot". Whenever you see a damaged CV joint boot, just replace the CV joint. After-market boots seldom work.

Why does your car still vibrate on the right side when you just changed the tie rod and wheel bearing?

The frontend most likely needs alignment.

---- Have them double check the wheel balancing while they're at it.

The rotors could also not be sitting cleanly against that nice new hub - pull it and check there's no corrosion build up on the backside. If there is, just wire brush it clean.

Of course, the rotor itself could be a bit out-of-true/round.

And then there's the tire itself - belts that have separated inside the tire can cause a good shake also.

But I agree with Hollyday516, I'd start with the alignment and wheel balancing...

The oil lamp is on although you've checked that you've got enough oil The car shakes and moves forward when the clutch is down Earlier maybe related to this problem the car staggered on even speed?

"The oil light being on full time even when you have sufficient oil" perhaps the sending unit needs replaced. "Car moving Forward with clutch depressed" The Clutch needs adjusted it is not fully disengaging. Good Luck and Remember.

What places change spark plugs?

Any automotive mechanical shop. Expect to pay at least $75 though, depending on your engine make and model. The shop will likely suggest that you replace the spark plug wires and distributor rotor as well, and sometimes the distributor cap itself. This is normal and usually good advice but not 100% necessary if you're on a tight budget, the choice is yours, don't be pushed around. Beyond that, be sure to get second, and even third, opinions about any extra repairs, like brakes or mechanical repairs, that the shop may 'suggest' needs to be done.
