Why does your 289 Ford engine vibrate at 1700 rpm?
mine vibrated when the 'cotter key' wore down. the harmonic balancer was causing vibration at about 45-50mph. i guess i learned to ignore it and it warped my crank.

A cylinder misfiring can cause this sympton, check/replace spark plugs and plug wires. Also, sputtering and shaking can be caused by engine timing, have the timing checked. Another cause can be fouled fuel injectors on fuel injected vehicles.
What happens if you keep driving on a warped rotor besides hearing the warped sound?
YOU WILL WEAR YOUR PADS OUT PREMATURELY AND MAY CAUSE HOT SPOTS TO FORM IN THE ROTORS. HOTS SPOTS BECOME HARDER THAN THE REST OF THE ROTOR AND WILL CAUSE THE PEDAL TO HAVE A BUMPING FEELING WHEN YOU APPLY THE BRAKES. THE ROTOR WILL THEN HAVE TO BE REPLACED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. ALL IN ALL YOU SHOULD HAVE THE PROBLEM CHECKED AND REPAIRED ASAP. BRAKES ARE NOT A GOOD THING TO GAMBLE WITH FOR SURE.
yes, because two and zero are even numbers. it goes like a pattern starting at zero to the top.
Remove the instrument cluster and tear it down, re solder and points on the rear 20 contact points that appear flawed.
What could cause the steering wheel to shimmy on a 98 4x4 tacoma other than tires or wheels?
Tires can be either out of balance or have a slipped belt and cause vibration in the steering wheel. Wheels can be bent and cause it. CV joints can be almost to the point of failure and cause it. Excessively loose steering components (ball joints, Rack, idler arm (if present), struts... Either the front or rear drive shafts could be out of balance most likely the front
Whats the problem when you hit the curb at 10 miles per hour and the car feels like it wobbles?
The problem it the loose nut behind the wheel.
As a temporary repair, replace the tire and rim that hit the curb.
Why would your car idle rough stall and sometime overheat?
Its idling rough because you probably have a blown head-gasket and lost compression at two cylinders you need to remove all spark plugs and check each cylinders compression.
What is a push to brakes switch?
A push to brake switch is a switch were it cancels out the circuit so that the electricity cannot flow through the circuit.
Check the air pressure in all tires.
When your check engine light come on and your car start to jerk which sensor is it?
Impossible to say. You need to have the ECU scanned with a scan tool. The tool will retrieve the code that has been set. That code will help to find the problem if you know what you are doing.
sounds like you have a leaky intake manifold
What happens to a car if you do not replace bad rotors?
removeing bake pads and roader from a 99 ponitcia gtp do yu have any pic to show how
What would cause my new to me Mazda 1989 929 to vibrates while accelerating and braking?
Wheel hubs or bearings or could be the CV shafts.
If your vehicle has disk brakes, then this is a sign the rotors are warped, not flat like they need to be. When you apply the brakes, the brake pad comes in against the rotor and as it rotates, it should stay flat against the rotor, but yorus must be warper and as the high and low spots rotate by the brake pads, this pulses the pedal which you feel.
1 out of balance front wheels or tires when were they last checked 2 out of round front tires do u hit a lot of potholes 3 worn cv joints does it sound like your engine is knockin while turning and at high speeds?? 4 The motor mount is unlikely but a possibility but what is being described seems more like worn cv joints
What would cause shaky movement?
* Bad Tires * Bad wheel
* Failed or bent suspension parts Have the tires & wheel checked first.
Why does car shake when ac is on?
The engine management system may not be adjusting for the extra load of the A/C. Can also be the A/C compressor is seizing up. Have this looked at by a professional.
I would start with wheel balance but the front end steering and suspension needs to be checked also.
new rotors can have high spots have them turned also if lug nuts are over tight it can do the same thing i always use a torx stick when installing wheels back on the car or truck
Why would the steering wheel go the right when you apply the brakes?
I am not a mechanic but I have owned a lot of problematic cars. I have come to find out that a car can pull to the right while braking due to various reasons. Such as, a caliper that gets stuck and does not work properly, uneven brake wear--get brakes pads, rotors, calipers checked-- an outter tire rod may be worn--unbalanced or uneven wear on tires--or it could be your alignment. All or one of these can contribute to this. Take it to a mechanic and get it checked to be definitely sure.
You might need to get your tires balanced, or you may need some front end work done. Getting your tires balanced is the less expensive of the two though so I would try that first.
What are symptoms of broken engine mount?
In a standard the shifter may move excessively from side to side or up and down, in an automatic you could have someone put in in drive or reverse with the break on and see if the engine rolls excessively to one side or the other on such a light load. The fan may also make noise when being impinged upon.
