It could be many things: If you turn on the car and hear clicking and no contact it could be your starter. The clicking could also mean your battery is dead. You have obviously caused flooding of gas and that's why the smell of gas in the car. OPEN YOUR WINDOWS when trying to find out what is wrong with your car. To check your battery lift up the hood and you'll see a square box with 4 big screws on the top (talking woman talk here) but they are called "terminals" and if you see white flaking clumps around the terminals (those big screws) then they are corroded and this could be your problem. BE SURE YOUR CAR IS SHUT OFF and take a rag and clean these terminals. Then reattach them. The prongs are easy to slip around each screw (terminal) without a problem. Get back in the car and try starting it. If that doesn't work then try to get someone to use their battery charger to see if that will get it going. If this works it's time for you to get a new battery to be on the safe side. If it's your starter then you will need a good male friend or relative to help you with the starter and if that is not possible then you will need a mechanic to check it out. ALWAYS GET A FULL ESTIMATE FOR WHAT THE COST WILL BE BEFORE HAVING THE WORK DONE. Ask a neighbor or a person at work who they use as a mechanic so you don't get a high bill when it's not necessary.

It does not have a cold start relay. It sounds more like a fuel pressure regulator has failed or the injectors are dirty causing excessive flow. Have a certified technician check for these things as they can be a little hard to diagnose without the proper equipment.

A mechanic can charge the a/c and then diagnose the a/c unit. Sometimes all it needs is more freon "charging it" or it may have a leak, or a broken part. They can be as much as 1200 to fix. Charging it cost around 75 bucks or you can get a can at auto zone that is fairly easy to use for maybe 10 bucks and try to do it yourself.

Its possible that the oily fumes are from your a/c system..some models use same evaporator core for heater and a/c..if there is a rupture in the core, oil will be carried by the blower into your car interior..check your 134a or 12 refrigerant levels of the a/c and test pressures, if low or no press. theres your problem..hint: the a/c oil has a foul smel.. luck It sounds as if you have a heater core leaking. If you check the carpeting over on the passenger front side of the car, it will probably be wet. The fumes you are smelling are ethylene glycol, and the mist does not feel good in your lungs.

R-134a has a strong, unique odor, that does not smell at all like propane. I have even seen one picture of a system that was literally blown to pieces by the use of these explosive substances in automotive refrigerant systems. Why would a car smell like gas while its running?
- Using a good flashlight start at the tank check the tank and all fuel lines carefully working your way to the filter and on up to the engine. Check the areas directly around the fuel injectors where an o-ring could leak. The fuel may be evaporating quickly, you may want to do this while it is running.
- I recently had the same problem. It started out with just the smell of gasoline. As time went by, I noticed a leakage. Gas leakage. At first the garage told me it was the fuel sender that needed replacing, after a month or so, it was the gas tank, fuel sender and fuel line - it ended up costing me $600.00 Canadian. Although, I will probably save that much in gas over the next few months. Do you also smell the gas when you get out of the car? If so, you will need to get this taken care of. Eventually you will.

In the third month it happened more often and the "check engine" light came on intermittendly when accelerating or stopping. if you can smell gas whether the car is running or NOT that means you have a leak in your fuel system if it was not a leak, you would not smell it when not running . first thing is check under vehicle after overnight parking and see if there is fuel on the ground if there is , this will give you a starting point where to look for gas leak
