Power Steering?

My '91 has a new engine, but they used the old head without a rebuild. I had some lifter noise, which is normal with the 4.0. Recently it became a little noisier, and I drained a pint of oil, replacing it with a pint of Marvel Mystery Oil. Within 30 miles it was much quieter. From what I understand, MMO has solvents that clean out the gunk that cleans out the passageways in the lifters allowing them to maintain pressure. I would bet that almost any lifter solvent/cleaner would do the same thing. I use MMO because it's worked for me before.

6 by 9 in the back dash and 6 1/2 in the doors

Could be your alternator problem.

Most commonly that would be the fly wheels within the transmission. It is advisable to see a mechanic for this problem to avoid a blown transmission.

A siren.

Usually insuffucine power to starter caused by bad or undercharged battery. Try jumping it.

You might need a battery or alternator.

A bad starter can also do this.

Many parts store can test for free and all repair shops can test for you but might charge a few dollars.

Buy a exhaust with a larger circumference, the larger the circumference, the louder the noise.

probably something wrong with the transmission like a gear fault or a transmission glitch or overheat. Take it to a repair shop or do some test maitanenence yourself.

Souinds like a bad CV joint in one of the front axel shafts,

If it clicks when turning hard right then it will be the right outer CV joint.

If it clicks when turning to the left then it's the left outer CV joint.

I had the same problem but it is really not a big deal . T went to my dealers and they said that it was just a drive belt ratating . Just oil evey belt once and a while and you should be fine . If that does not work , contact your dealer .

Well most of the time its due to the cam size,on most race engines the cam lobes keep the valves open longer..Compression is also a factor,and including exhaust or turbo/super chargers.. hope this helps. A lack of mufflers would also account for the noise level.

Does the noise happen all the time you push on the gas pedal or only at certain speeds?

Normally a wheel or halfshaft bearing will whine at speed and will grind at all speeds, when severely worn.

The problem ended up being defective spark plug wires. sounds like rod bearings. It couldn't be the rod bearings, because the engine would run for a few miles and then quit. Rod bearings tend to go quickly.

The most likely cause is the belt on the power steering pump. This is especially likely if this occurs when the car is not moving and you turn the wheel. The load on the pump is causing the belt to slip, and squeal. Adjust the belt. If it persists you may need to replace it.

No, power inverters aren't good enough for Home audio equipment and the power supply inside your amp/receiver will buzz like it's going to blow up due to the power inverter. Trust me, been there, tried that.

maby one of the crankshaft jornals or main or rod bearings have a little more wear than normal . don't worry unless it knocks after it warms up run thick oil 30wt in summer 20-50 in winter will help cushin the gap between bearing and jornal keep your RPMs no higher than 3500 youll be fine for years to come ; you can ask for Steve at auto zone in lake city ga
