My CD player on a 2001 Ford Taurus would so "no" when you tried to do do any function on the CD player. I had the battery replaced in the car and the CD player started to work. I have found other referances to ford CD players where the power had to be removed from the radio and that reset the error and it would work find after that

It's not a misfire, it's torque converter shudder, and sometimes it can be fixed with a fluid change or a chemical additive.

When driving the IAC does not do anything because the car is not at an idle

Defective fuel pump would be the most likely cause, but it can be other things.

torque converter clutch solenoid.

check your fuel filter and also your spark plugs.

Could be a number of things. First check if its a fuel problem.Are you out of gas? Sounds dumb but I have seen this too many times before. Carefully put a couple ounces of fuel in the engine air intake. If it starts and runs for a few seconds, its a fuel problem, check clogged filter, fuel pump. Todays cars are so complicated you typically need a "Good manual" like Mitchel try your library and check the troubleshooting section. If you aren't getting any spark you've several choices, depending on the year of the vehicle. Pickup-coil, crankshaft position sensor, ignition coil.

If it is a fairly new car that is controlled by a computer, it is most probably the idle control valve. Other possibilities can be a bad fuel filter, pump or fuel pressure regulator.

Without any information (year, make, model, engine size, symptoms, etc etc...) I'm really guessing here. Possible ignition problem, possible security system issue. One idea is to check on the dash and see if the security light is on and if it is then it's off to the dealer for repair & reprogram. The security system aside, three things come to mind, but this is, like the first , just general stuff. It could be a fuel problem. Clogged filter, pump problem or fuel pressure regulator problem. It could be a "set up" or "tune up" problem, which has a lot to do with the control of the aforementioned fuel system - and the ignition system - which is the second area where the problem may be. Lastly, a big vacuum leak could allow the vehicle to start and then die as it is trying to come up to idle. (The leak allows the negative pressure in the intake to suck too much air past the carb - if that's the kind of setup the vehicle has.

The camshaft position sensor on a 2002 Mitsubishi Gallant is located behind the rear camshaft bearing. It constantly updates the vehicle' computer about the status of the camshaft.

ok i have a '91 miata and cannot figure out why it is hesitating when i push the gas... it seems to do it all/mostly when i am going uphill. i have tried changing the throttle both up and down some, i read on another question about the tps? what is this? i think it has something to do with the fuel but i don't know what. i have a turbo and intercooler... don't know if this will help. are there any tune ups i can do that might help with this problem? AND btw i recently had to change the water pump and the timing had to come off. when i put the timing back on it might be off one or two teeth but idk!! PLEASE HELP

i have the same problem. i have good fuel pressure and new filter. it could possibly be related to airflow sensor or vacuum lines.

Solved this problem with new spark plugs/wires and a new distributor cap, about 100 bucks for parts If a lot of water gets sucked up into the filter box, the paper filter will get wet- effectively choking the engine out of air. Check it out in the rain some Night, In the night you can see if there is blue spark over your engine. It could be cracked ignition wires coming from the spark plugs to the ignition coil/distributor Check the distributor cap and make sure all the spark plug holes are clean. If they are clean and it still does it try replacing the cap anyway. Nissan updated distributor cap and distributor. Try replacing cap first (much cheaper).

The AC pump is bad. When the AC is turned on the pump tries to turn, because it is bad the extra strain on the motor causes it to stall. Be carely this can break or through a belt. In short its like putting a "brake" on your motor.

YOU"RE USING CHEAP GAS DUDE>>>>Use factory specification premium gasoline...When she runs rough like that pretty sure it's the continued use of cheap gas..

It is important to maintain speed while driving, unless coming to a stop. A car would decelerate if there was not enough fuel or electricity to keep the car running.

I drive a 96 mustang,and was told that the 1990-2000 model's body is made from sheet metal and on bumps,or a dirt road it will make rattling sounds. Your exhaust pipe is another explanation if it is loose.

This all depends on the engine application in the vehicle. Some manufacturers offer different motors on different models. My bet is that it has either 4 or 6. It is not real hard to tell. Just look carefully for the coil pack that has wires going to each spark plug. In some vehicles like Mitsubishi the plugs are well concealed in the top of the valve cover with cover caps so look carefully.

Alternator fails to supply power.

Spark plugs, plug wires, air cleaner, PCV valve, EGR valve, loose or cracked vaccuum hoses (vaccuum leak). A little tip - whenever I've bought a ussed car (and I've bought a few) the FIRST thing I've invested in is a Haynes Manual or the like. They've been a lifesaver! finally broke down and took car to a mechanic $400 later problem was solved. it was the mass air flow sensor. car runs great now. no more stalling.hope this will be helpful to someone else. thankyou for the answers we got.
