Why does my 2001 dodge Dakota stall on occasion when put in reverse?
Does your transmission seem to shift at weird times as well? Could possibly be the throttle position sensor. Good Luck! transmission also pull-off in second gear
First thing, check battery, alternater may not have been charging and it simply ran out of power. Depending on make of car, there are either 3-4 main fuses 3/8" X 5/8" that are either on the positive cable at the battery or in the fuse block on the drivers side inner fender. One of these may be blown. You may have fuseable links instead. This is a loop of wire that does the same thing as the fuses. Should be one of the two places. You can feel if these are burned thru. If this is the problem, what caused it must be found. Alternater likely susspect, but could be anything.
Where can you find a hose diagram for 1982 Datsun 720?
The vacuum hose routing diagram for this vehicle is located on the underside of the hood.
I had this problem whenevery the gas cap was loosely fit back and my car would be sluggish or stall. I was told to firmly cap the gas each time because the pressure could otherwise release. perhaps pressure is released after you buy gas and needs to pressurize to run properly.
Probably your ECM capacitors need to be replaced--do it your self pretty cheap. pay for someone to do it--about $250-400--they'll do it in about 10 minutes.
Can a plugged Catalytic converter cause excessive backfire and loss of power?
Yes, along with low fuel pressure, a misfire, improper timing,...... Also a bad coil will have the same effect. Actually this has happened to me 2 times, once in my 1991 Chevy Blazer and again in a 2000 Chevy Tahoe. Both times back firing and loss of power it was the coil. in cooler weather it takes longer to go completely out. In southern states in the summer goes faster. The first time it happened to me was in Alaska and took me a long time to figure out what was going on, changed the catalytic converter, injectors, O2 sensors, plugs and wires. Finally took a multimeter to everything under the hood and it was the Coil. Good luck
Why does your 93 c1500 6-cylinder almost stall when you brake?
You have a vacuum leak. there is usually i vacuum (i know i cannot spell that word, and i really cannot think of another way) diagram in your hood. follow all the hoses around looking for one that is not hooked up. if they all are, rub them down in mr bubble, start your car, and watch for little bubbles to form. usually vacuumn hoses is a feet cents a foot.
Will a bad crankshaft sensor make car stall while driving?
A bad crank sensor will definitely cause the car to stall. Eventually the car will stop starting up again, or if it does, it will die down around ten minutes. A good thing to do if you're sure it's the crank sensor, replace it.
Why does a car make roaring noises while driving?
It is probably a wheel bearing if it only does it while moving.
What makes brake go to the floor on a 2006 Chevy silverado truck and abs light come on?
Sounds to me like you have a brake fluid leak somewhere in the system. Check the level of brake fluid in the reservoir. If the reservoir is full you may have a bad master cylinder with a "blow-by" condition.

What would cause the catalytic converter to clog on a 6 cylinder 1995 Pontiac grand am?
Do you need a new battery if sometimes your car starts and then dies right away?
From the symptoms you describe, the answer is NO you don't need a new battery.
The fact that the battery had, and holds, enough charge to crank [takes a lot of power] and start your engine indicates that the battery is OK. And once it is started, and with the starter not engaged, the ignition system should take very little battery power, and thus also indicates the battery is OK.
The fact that the engine dies after starting suggests that the problem is elsewhere, such as [for a few examples only]:
There could be a bunch of other reasons that I can't think of at the moment, but it sounds like you need to get your vehicle into a good auto repair shop that has a diagnostic computer which can troubleshoot all the systems [fuel, ignition, sensors, etc.].
What could cause a 1990 acura integra to shut off while driving?
Replaced answer...
For no reason would a car mysteriously die and shut off at a snap of a finger from a "going dead battery" and alternator.
Good to check those but check your main relay's grounding/power source.
Why is my car stalling when you come to a stop and losing gas mileage?
Do you have a "service engine" light? Stalling could be caused by a wide variety of problems, such as a faulty sensor, ECM, or even the need for a tune up. Reading fault codes can narrow down the problem, if you take it to a local autozone, they will read the codes for free.
Car starts but cut out when foot taken of accelerator?
Sonds like the idling speed is too low - it can be adjusted (Usually with just a screw driver) if you know the right screw to turn to give the engine higher idling revs.

Is there a Tax credit for washer and dryer?
Unfortunately there is no credit for washers and dryers. There are for other appliances with an energy star rating (HVAC, insulation, solar panels, roofs) though. A bill was submitted to include washers and dryers, but was never passed.
What would cause a car to stall on the first attempt but start on the second?
If the fuel pump doesn't get a chance to build pressure before you crank the engine, you might not be getting enough fuel when you crank the first time. To test this possibility, turn the key to "on" for a couple seconds before you try to start it, THEN see if it starts on the first crank. If that turns out to be the case, the vehicle might just be leaking down fuel pressure when it sits for a while. It's more of an annoyance than anything seriously wrong.
I am getting the EXACT same problems from my 2005 Saturn Ion. Only have 53K on it and having huge problems. I have had the ignition switch and ignition cole replaced. Any help would be great?
