im no mechanic but that happened to me ,,i tuned it with after market wires/plugs and it didt help ,,,put ford factory wires and plugs no more problem

In some specs of cars, the type of petrol listed may be unleaded fuel, if you use leaded fuel, this will be detected by the engine activating the check engine sign. Tio eradicate this problem, you may need to drain your whole petrol tank and replace with unleade fuel only.

i have a 2002 sentra spec-v and i dont know if your problem was the same as mine, but i forgot to put the gas cap on all the way when i filled the tank and the service engine light came on. i put the cap on all the way and drove the car for about 10 miles and it went off. dont know if it will fix your problem but make sure you tighten the gas cap til it clicks so this wont happen to you. good luck

The light and the speedo are probably the same problem. The VSS vehicle speed sensor is located at the back of the transmission by the right drive axle Check if the connector is secure If ok replace the sensor.

My guess would be a bad ground, but that is just an educated guess. The check engine light should have nothing to do with this. The check engine light indicates an emissions problem. Good luck finding the electrical problem, as these are the hardest problems to find. You need to have the computer scanned for fault codes.
