What causes a rapid turn signal on a 2002 blazer?
It has been my experience that a rapid turn signal indicates there is a burnt-out signal light bulb (either front or rear) on the side of the rapid blinking signal. If the right signal is blinking rapidly, the problem is in the signal lights for the right side (front or rear) of the vehicle. Turn the rapid signal on and step out of the vehicle to find which bulb is not lighting.
If the locks and rear window hatch on a 1998 Chevy Blazer lock and unlock by themselves, there is probably a problem with the fuse or a short somewhere. The locks are supposed to lock when the vehicle gets put in gear. Perhaps the system that tells the locks when to lock is not working properly.
May I suggest that you start by draining out the automatic gearbox oil or fluid and completely refill. Even 50% might be enough, but if so it'll need doing annually to keep it refreshed. It's probably about the shear strength in the oil being reduced to the point it won't drive this very low gear any more.
Years ago I had the same issue with a Granada Scorpio and the fluid change fixed it, but mine was nearly completely drained and filled with good quality Auto Transmission fluid.
Good luck - a lovely car.

What transmission is in a 1997 Blazer?
The 1997 Blazer came with a 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission. This transmission is electronically controlled, which is particularly good to know when dealing with the 1997 year model. The 1997 Blazers are known to develop faulty connections in the electrical ignition switch that can interrupt the power to the transmission. When this occurs, it makes it seem as though the transmission has gone bad, when in fact the ignition switch is the real culprit.
I had the same thing go wrong with my '99 Blazer a few months back. Luckily it was under warranty because the transfer case had to be replaced. The little button lights on my dashboard that would tell me if the truck was in 2-hi or whatever else were out too. When I took it in, the guy mentioned that he already saw a few of these same exact issues within the last month too. BK I am currently going thru this myself on a 4 wheel drive Jimmy. It turns out that GM has a problem behind the right front kick panel.{At right of passengers feet}. There is an electronic control module there screwed onto the sheetmetal behind the kick panel. The electrical plug and connections corrode on this module{about 4"x6"with blue plug. Mine had the wires rotted off. This module operates the transfer case. It is about $500.00 but usually can be repaired at the connections. It is a stupid place to put it but the first place to look for trouble.
The harmonic balancer for the engine may be worn-out or loose, check it out! The noise is likely to come due to the friction.
Blaming the harmonic balancer for this problem is a real reach. The belt is slipping. Tighten the alternator to tighten the belt. There should be less than 1/2 in deflection(amount the belt moves when you push lightly on it) if that doesn't help much, change the belt. Sometimes if they have been slipping for a while, they build up ma glaze on them that will continue to allow them to slip[ and squeal.
Sounds to me like a main or connecting rod bearing seized. If the engine now fails to crank over when you try to start it, it's seized.

How do you unlock the theft lock on a Chevy Blazer?
GM DELCO THEFTLOCK RADIO UNLOCK CODE:
1. Press and hold presets 2 and 3 for about 5 to 10 seconds until you
get 3 digits on your display. This is the first 3 of 6 digits you will
need, so write 'em down.
2. After doing step one and writing down the code, immediately press
the
AM/FM button to get the last 3 of the 6 numbers you'll need, and write
'em down. (if you wait too long between steps 1 and 2 and the LOC code
displays again, just start over).
3. Call this number, it's a prerecorded message, so don't worry about
having to talk to anyone...1-800-537-5140. The voice will ask if
you're
calling for Chevy, Pontiac, Cadillac, etc... When you here him tell
you
to press "2" for Pontiac, press 206010 (account number invalid; 11/25/2008) and hit the # key. He'll ask
you
for the 6 digit code that you've written down. Enter that and press
the
* key. He will then give you a code, and the option to get additional
4
digit codes, but one should be sufficient.
4. Follow the normal procedure in your owners manual for unlocking the
radio with your new code...press the hour set button on your radio
until
you get the first two numbers of the code, then press the minute set
button until you've entered the last two numbers. Immediately press
the
AM/FM button once the correct code is entered and the code SEC or
"secured" will be displayed on the display screen. Now, just turn the
radio on, and your ready to roll.
There is an additional step you can take to remove all codes from the
radio and start from scratch by entering your own personalized 4 digit
code so that it won't get you in a pickle again! Just repeat step 4
and
you should get a display screen that reads ---. This means the code is
out, and you can now program your own code. Of course, once you
receive
the 4 digit code from the GM recorded message, just keep it in a safe
place, because you can use that same code again and again should you
have any more problems with it in the future. Good luck, and yes, it
does work.

If you fail to enter the correct code eight times, the radio goes into INOP mode. You have to wait an hour with the ignition on before the radio returns to LOC mode.
What does a fuel pump relay switch do?
A fuel pump relay provides power to turn on fuel pump. A relay allows small current to control high current-
example- a starter relay-- If you didnt have a starter relay- the big thick starter wires would have to run to the ignition switch, and then back to the starter.
with a relay- you only have little tiny wires running to the ignition switch... when you turn the ignition switch on, a little bit of current goes through the tiny wires to the relay- which powers a coil- which then makes the contacts inside the relay connect- which then allows the high current to run through the big wires to the starter.
kinda simple- but can be confusing.

Why wont my 2002 Chevy blazer accelerate normally and vibrating when idle?
First try changing the Fuel Filter. If this doesn't fix the problem you have a few options.
A) If your check engine light is on take it to Auto Zone or local auto parts store and have them read the code so you will have a better idea of what to approach next.
B) If your spark plugs have over 100,000 miles on them you really need to change them also. Might not do anything, but it's inexpensive and will help the vehicle to run smoother after.
C) Check to make sure the air filter is clean and free of any blockages.
D) Might be your catalytic converter??
E) Might be a bad ignition coil??
I'm not sure how efficient you are around an engine, if this seems to much take it to a professional!
Will a stop leak fix a antifreeze leak by the intake manifold?
NO additives are recommended by any good mechanics. Only the full repair is best especially whem dealing with coolant leaks. Usually intake leaks are from years of corrosion the coolant will turn to acid in most oif todays cars if not treated you will have much internal damage. the external leaks will only show up when damage is done. Dont write off the vehicle it ,will be much cheaper to repair than pay the extra cost for insurance ,interest loss of value for new cars.....

How do you remove a dashboard for a 2000 cavalier?
Answer If it is the same as a 2000/2001 - You will need a "Torx/Star" drill bit or driver to remover these screws.
(STEP1-)Open drivers door
(STEP2-)Use flathead screwdriver to pop-off panel where the fuse door is. (Pop the whole thing off...not just the fuse door) (
STEP3-)Unscrew the screw closest to the A/C vent
(STEP4-)On top of your dash, there are 2 or 3 screws with the Defrost vent...remove them and the vent
(STEP5-)Open passenger door
(STEP6-)Repeat step 2 (minus the fuse door
(STEP7-)Repeat step 3
(STEP8-)Open glove compartment
(STEP9-)There are 2 or 3 screws on the top perimeter of the glove box...remove them
(STEP10-)Using a long screwdriver or nutdriver, unscrew the two "brass-looking" screws INSIDE the glove box(on the roof of the glove box) they are right in the middle. DONT DROP THEM OR THEY WILL BE GONE FOREVER!
(STEP11-) Just start pulling it off (If you here snaps, its normal. Because it is also held in by clips) (STEP12-)Unscrew the screws all along the top of the front dash trim
(STEP13-)Now start pulling the dash trim away from the dash
(STEP14-)While it is off, you will have to unsnap the dimmer control (from behind) and unplug the cig lighter (From the back. Also, the actual lighter stays in the dash trim)
