How do pull a engine out of a 1996 Chevy Camaro 3.8?
you can pull it from the top but its a lot harder you have to take off the plenuman ac comp. an all that.. the easy way (if you have the means to do so) is from the bottom. that's the way the factory installs it. ive done it three times now an it takes like 2hours to drop the engine if you know what your doing an have the tools from start to finish. an i normally take a break while working because im lazy ha. but its like 6 bolts total on both sides of the subframe 3 on each side an 2 on each side for the sway bar. 4 on top on each side for the struts but i take thoughs out last. undo your fuel lines which will take a specail tool undo all the wiering that you see that leeds off to the body powerstearing lines need to come undone or just take off the powerstearing fluid container. UNDO your break lines, don't forget because when you drop it it WILL ruin them.. undo a bolt on the stearing shaft an when the engine is ready it will just pull off. undo the trannie cross member an the tourtion bar that runs to the rear . undo the exahost an then drop it but ou have to be able to pic up the car body over the engine, an that can be hard, actuly the hardest ppart i think.. wel i hope this mess of words have helped somewhat. an doubble check every thing b4you drop it..
