my 91 Chevy Camaro RS V8 engine will not rotate when I turn the key the battery and the starter have been checked

The turn signal switch is mounted in the steering column. Unscrew all 5 screws in the bottom of the lower cover and remove the lower and upper covers. You should now be able to see the switch itself and how it is mounted to swap it out.

Probably a weak fuel pump. Keep in mind that the #1 problem with these cars is fuel pump failure once the are a few years old,

Just about all GM cars have a Vats theft system in stalled on them. The little button on your ignition key (the black plastic tab/button with a silver pin is a resistor. when you put the key in ignition this resistor is checked for the correct resistonce (there are 15 different ones) Any way if there is dirt on key or inside the igniton switch the Vats system thinks your tru to steal your car. It resets after the three minents. The key seating in the switch for these 3 mins will probly make enought contact to read the risitor correctry. All you have to do is spray some contact cleaner on key and into the igntion key hole. some times just some WD 40 will clean it enought. Hope this helps, Ben Parker, San Jose,Ca. I've had a 97 Olds Achieva since August 2005. Ever since the beginning I've had problems with the security light/starting problem. Invariably when I needed to go somewhere or was in a hurry it would cut out and wouldn't start, or I had to wait 7-8 minutes for the security light to stop blinking. Just this last week the solution came! First off, if you turn on the key and if the lights on the dash lights don't go on, wait until they do. When they go on, if the security light is blinking, wait until it stops. Then wait until the bell stops ringing. Wait until the 'groaning' sound stops. Wait a few seconds more. The code 45 means that you have a o2 sensor that is reading that the engine is burning.

Disconnect battery. Then the electrical connection on the starter solenoid. Remove the starter bolts and the starter. Note the location of the spacer shims. Installation is the reverse. Don't forget the spacers shims or you will get noise when starting the vehicle.

when your car runs dry, the fuel pump has no load and can burn up. It has happened every time for me. It can take a few months to happen or break the first few minutes of pumping air.

Throttle position sensor That would depend on what year and make of the car you have. If it's an older vehicle that's carbuerated, you simply adjust your idle screw on the side of the carbuerator (look for your throttle cable where it attaches to the carb) until it idles at the proper speed. It could be a dirty air cleaner or bad fuel filter. It could be a vacuum leak. It could be missing on several cylinders - does it shake as it tries to idle?

Buy a haynes manual which will explain everything to you. You can pick one up for about 20 bucks at a local auto parts store.

I am guessing you mean overheat. To "heat up" is normal. We want the car to heat up, but to go any higher than about 225 degrees would be to overheat, and that would be bad. If that is what you mean, then there are a number of things that could be causing it. It could be as simple as to high of a concentration of anti-freeze to water mixture(should be a bout 50%), to something as costlty as a blown head gasket. The water pump could have the impellers rusted off and not pumping, the radiator could be stopped up, there could be air trapped i the cooling system, there could be an obstruction to air flow in front of the radiator like leaves trapped in front of it, the cooling fan may not be working, even the thermostat you installed could be defective or installed backwards. It boils down to this: You either have a coolant flow or an air flow problem. (I am including the blown headgasket in the coolant flow catagory) As simple way to narrow it down is when then car is running hot, put your hand on the radiator. If the radiator is hot, then you probably have an air flow problem, see if the fan is working, or there are leaves in front of the radiator. If the radiator is cold, then you have a coolant flow problem, something is keeping coolant from flowwing into the radiator. (water pump, ai in the system, stopped up radiator, etc)

try reseting comp. disconect battery for an hour or 2 if that dose not work go to libaire get the chiltons guid to your f-body and see if theres another way to reset Your not going to like this but the only way to get the anti-theft system to disengage is to get a dealership to hook it up to a machine and the will reprogram the car's engine brain or ECU so the engine and be started.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe it stands for Rally Sport; just like the RS in Chevrolet's Camaro RS. Although it is not widely circulated, this abbreviaton could be due in part to Mitsubishi's huge Rallying program in the 1980's and 90's. Mitsubishi placed quite a few Pajeros (aka the Montero in the U.S.) in the Dakar Rally and other Rally and Off-Road Races. Even today, the Pajero is still competing in the Dakar Rally and has clentched the Overall Win more than once. Hope that helped!

The lock switch has nothing to do with the window. If you have power windows and the window switch is bad, you can operate the window by jumping the wires on the switch plug. On my 91 Camaro RS, the window regulator (motor) stopped working. I bought a new regulator at Napa and replaced it. Replacing the window regulator requires drilling out the factory rivets. IMPORTANT! Before you start,you should drill a hole through the door and gear then install a temporary nut & bolt to lock the window in the up postion. This will prevent the window from falling while your fingers are near the gear.

fuel pump is in fuel tank.if pump runs with key off replace fuel pump relay

There shouldn't be any difference, they had the same body styles so the should be the same.

You may have air trapped in the cooling system.This will cause the gauge to spike. Try this: remove the radiator cap and allow the engine to run for about 20 minutes. Add coolant as necessary. If this does not work I would replace the stat. Finally, I would check the actual cooalant with a thermometer to determine the actual temp. I hope this helps you. Mark

if the fan motor is still good, find a mechanic that knows how to bypass the thermostat and run it to a switch on the dash, thats the cheapest option, and would take far too long to explain on here . Just had the same problem with my 99 camaro and it was an 8$ relay that is in the fuse box under the hood
