How do you tell if your transmission is out or if its the torque converter?
Usually the tranny will go first, but it really doesn't matter. Take it to a shop that specializes in tranmissions, or if you want to experience the pain of replacing it yourself, take it out and haul it to a reputable transmission rebuild shop. Either way, they will tell you to replace the torque converter as a wise precaution even if it's not the problem. As there is no way to clean out a torque converter, any muck or metal shavings left in it will just get into your newly rebuilt tranny and ruin it fast. So count on a new converter no matter what. Also, if you replace it yourself, be sure to fill the new converter with fluid before assembly and flush out the cooling lines before hooking them up. One last thing, be sure to spin the converter when you push it into the tranny. You should feel it go in steps, about 3 or 4. If you don't get it in all the way, the converter will shatter the front pump assembly when you tighten the tranny to the engine. Then you'll have to take it back out and get it repaired, and it WON'T be under warrranty.
How do you change a water pump on a 1995 camaro?
Drain coolant, loosen water pump pulley bolts and remove serpentine belt. V6-remove power steering pump bracket, remove hoses from water pump, remove water pump pulley and unbolt the water pump.DO NOT PRY the pump away from motor. If its stuck strike it with a soft face hammer. V8- Remove cooling fan, Remove radiator and heater hoses from pump. disconnect the electrical connector and unclip it from the water pump. Unbolt ignition coil bracket and carefully move it out of the way. it is very fragile. move the air injection pump. Remove the water pumpmounting bolts and detatch it. A gain,DO NOT PRY. For installation, Make sure all old gasket material is removed with a scraper or razor blade, and then apply a thin layer of new gasket sealer, place pump in position and finger tighten bolts. When tightening make sure not to overtighten or they will strip and leak. Then simply reverse removal, reill with coolant and start up and check for leaks.
It could be the lifters. Depending on the mileage and care as far as frequent oil changes one o rmor eof your lifters may be making a tickign sound. As the oil pressure builds up..........say after a minute or two does it go away? Try this....just turn the engien on and let it on and see if the ticking goes away when it warms up. If not, then it is probably not the lifters. The lifters are hydraulic and they maintain a certain oil pressure and as they get old they gum up from infrequent oil changes and they lose some of their ability to hold the pressure so they tick.
How much horsepower does a camaro SS have?
factory numbers will always be off. 2001-2002 LS1 f-bodies have the LS6 intake manifold so they dyno a bit more than previous years. For a STOCK LS1 At the Crank we are looking at about 350HP, and to the Rear WHeels we are looking at about as low as 290 and as much as 325, depending on location and condition of vehicle maintinace ect...and for the record SS models only have a 2-5HP increase over a Z28. The SS package is just an apearance Package NOT a performance package! 305 Hp
Im not getting any power to your rear lights on your 96 camaro z28 i check the fuses over and over.?
you need to check the ground wires of the brake lights they have a separate ground out of the wiring harness it grounds on the left side of the rear fender well it is a braided wire.

Where are the Grease fittings on a 2001 Camaro v6?
A lot of the newer cars do not have grease fittings in the suspension. It's what is called "factory sealed". You can't grease them.
The 1985 stock 305 TPI was rated at 215 horsepower. The 1986 had a milder cam and slighty less horses, I belive 205. Correct....the HP is rated at 215, but it produces a lot of torque. A quick way to add about 15 hp is to install an air foil for about $70.00. The air foil installs where the hose connects to the air intake on the engine. It's a quick and easy install. I added a Flowmaster catback exhaust and K&N air filters and a hyperchip. Not impressed with the chip. The Flowmasters and K&N filters did much more than the chip. Engine runs much cooler.
What is the best way to repair the holes in the door that the window regulator rivets go through?
I'm guessing you mean how to install a new regulator? Nuts and bolts with either lockwashers or stopnuts are fine, it does not need to be rivited. Put the bolt in from the regulator side. If the holes are torn out, you could weld washers over the holes if welding is availible. If not using a fender washer to cover the hole and tightening the bolts very hard should work.
How do you find or identify or relate the firing order to the firing order on the distributor cap?
You can't always go by the absolute distributor cap position. Sometimes the gear has been turned over the life of the engine, so if you have removed all sparkplug wires and have to start over there are a few simple things to try: Turn the engine by hand until you see the #1TDC mark comming up. Cover the sparkplug hole with your finger and then continue to turn the toward TDC. If you feel no compression as you turn the engine, the crankcase is 360 off and the distributor is 180 off. If there IS compression, you're comming up on TDC. When the timing mark comes to top and you're building compression, the distributor rotor is pointing at #1. Does a cracked flywheel cause stalling?
You may find that it's easier to liltghy rev the engine just "blip" the throttle, then let out on the clutch as the engine RPM is falling back to idle .this is MUCH easier on your clutch disc, promoting a smoother engagement. It may be too, that the first car you drove had a small engine and would stall if you didn't feed it some throttle, whereas your father's car may have had a more favorable power to weight ratio and been able to leave a stop from an idle.
Is there a turbo kit available for a 95 3.4 camaro V6?
Yes, you just have to look around. I just saw a website that had a turbo for sale for around 2 grand, its used but it'd would probably give you 5-6PSI which is like a 40% increase in overall power. they are hard to come by and i don't know why, doesn't make sense to put a turbo on a V6, just buy a 350 V8 5.7L engine and drop it in the F-body, then get a turbo. you could pump out a good 400 horses with just that, add a chip, bore out the cylinders, and some other performance parts and you'll be one fast dude.
help any?
A turbo on a V6 will outrun any 350 any day. Considering that the turbo is designed and installed correctly, you can possibly triple the horsepower of the V6
Oh by the way,,,adding a decent turbo to a 350 V* that is designed properly can give you 700-800 horsepower.
And a decent 350/5.7 in practically new running condition will run you about $4000. Cheaper and more efficient to turbo the V6
Explain 5 advantages of 4 wheel steering when compared to 2 wheel steering?

Where is the fuel pump on a 1982 Z28 cross fire injected 5.0 and is it electric or mechanical?
The fuel pump is electric. It is located in the fuel tank. I replaced mine this past winter. Exhaust andrearend need to be lowered out of the way.I did this on jackstands would have been easier if the car had been raised higher in the air as you have to twist the tank to get the filler neck out of the rear qtr. I bought a GM pump ($80)from the local Chevy dealer --as a note it did not include the in tank filter ($16)which goes on the pump. I had to order it afterward and it held me up a couple of days.

Why would a car make a humming noise during acceleration and deceleration?
You may have loose hub bearings. My wife hit a curb and jerked the alingment out. This went unoticed for awhile then the hum got real bad. Take it to a tire shop and have them check for loose wheels. If the bearings go out the car will go one way and the tire will go another. NOT GOOD!!
