What would be a cheap way to fix a cracked head as long as the crack is not severe?

Actually, Heather, I don't think there is such a thing as a cracked head that isn't severe. Any crack is severe. Get a head ffom the wrecking yard and have it machined is the cheapest. There are machine shops that will repair heads but they are gebnerally more expensive unless you have a caterpillar head or something like this.

Your 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 L Automatic Transmission is not shifting properly in order to get it to shift from 3 to 4 you have to shift it into neutral for a second and then back to Drive.?

This is a very common problem on Dodge transmissions and I'm about to fix this problem myself on my 1997 5.9L 1500. It's most likely being caused by faulty ATF selenoids. Replacing these selenoids will fix your problems, but most likely only temporarely. They usually become clogged due to metal shavings getting caught in the screen filter of the selenoid. I'm not positive where the metal shavings come from, but I would say the torque convertor. For a long-term fix I would recommend replacing the transmission with a lower mileage tranny. problem: could be a damaged abs or transfer case????

solution: could be a wheel bearing even though you suspect sensor

How do you change front turn signal on Chevy Venture?

Hi,

The hard part about changing the turn signal bulb is getting the light assembly out. But that is not really that hard. There are three "wing nuts" that hold the turn signal and headlight assemblies to the frame of the van. You have to remove the wing nut that is closest to the outside of the van and then pull the turn signal and side marker assembly straight out. This will allow you access to the bulb sockets at the back of the assembly.

At that point you just remove the socket, pull the bulb straight out, and put the new bulb. I always like to test that the bulb is working before putting things back together. Once you have verified that it works, line up the tabs at the back of the assembly with the frame hole and push it back in place. Then reinstall the wing nut and you are all set.

There should be a link on this page that shows pictures of this area and the operation. Take a look!

Good Luck.

How do you remove key cylinder on a 1997 Lincoln mark viii?

There are two (2) torque screws that hold the cylinder itself onto the car.

Remove both and the cylinder should fall out. (this is the hard way)

How do you locate and replace the fan relay on a 1997 Chevy Venture LS?

On my "2000" Venture there is a black plastic box under the hood located near the battery that has many fuses and RELAYS in it. The inside of this box lid has a list of the of position and type fuses and RELAYS. These items are so closely mounted to each other in the box that I had to remove a few other RELAYS to be able to get my fingers or a pair of ajustable pliars on the one that needed to be removed. Look for a plastic box mounted on one of the wheel wells inside the engine compartment for the RELAYS.

How do change the rear wheel bearing hub assembly on a 2003 Chevy venture with drum brakes?

the rear hub assembly comes off rather easy. 1 remove wheel, 2 remove brake drum, 3 locate 4 bolts going from outside in, 5 obtain a 15mm short socket; 2 or3" extension and ratchet, 6 turn all 4 to the left to loosen(may need a breaker bar or a cheater bar on your ratchet), 7 remove bolts,8 carefully tap on hub as to not tear up brake componets; at the same time catching hub in hand and disconnect the ABS connection from the rear of the hub, 8 replace with a reputable aftermarket component, 9 assemble in reverse order torqueing the bolts to Mfg. specifications.
