Why won't my clutch disengae on my 95 Geo Tracker?

`By disengage I assume you mean you can't change gears or get it out of gear. You may be able to change gears if it is not running. If this is so, it is one of several possibilities. You have a hydrolic clutch. The master cylinder can be empty, or more likely, the slave cylinder located on the transmission housing is bad. You should be able to see the slave cylinder. Have someone push the clutch in and see if there is any movement in the slave. The clutch disc can be screwed up, but that's a long shot.

Master cylinder common failure, can be replaced with a cheap trailer brake cylinder.

96 aspire with a man trans the bracket that holds the clutch and brake pedal broke you replaced it and 1500 miles later the new one broke also the clutch pushes down easy enough any ideas?

Similar thing happened on my 94 Aspire. The bracket is made of several pieces of sheet steel, put together with spot welds. Every time you push the clutch the steel flexes. After so many times of pushing the clutch, the spot weld snaps from metal fatigue. I'm betting the replacement bracket you got was from a junk yard, so it too had been flexed alot. If this happened with your bracket, take the two pieces and line them up in their original position. Use vise grips to clamp them together and drill a hole for a bolt. A 1/4" bolt should be enough. Make sure it's short enough that it doesn't interfere with the travel of the the clutch or brake pedal. It's just about impossible to line up the bracket pieces and drill them when they're in place on the car. There's just not enough room to get a drill in and around everything under the dash. A flexible spring-type extension for a drill might work if you're lucky to have one. If you're a pack-rat, you saved the first bracket. You can fix that off the car and swap it out with the broken one. Either way you'll probably have to take out the one that's in the car now. You may want to think about disconnecting the negative battery terminal while fooling around under the dash. If you you slip with the drill and catch the wrong wire you could get unlucky enough to set off the airbag.

***Me as a professional TRUCK driver driving a Mack (Volvo) with a powerful tranny (Eaton Fuller) we must change gears without using clutch (only take off so 1st gear).. In order to do it has to be familiar with ur vehicle and works in certain RPM ( about 1200 -1300) in relation playing with the gas pedal, but every truck is different when rpm is decreasing from 3000 rpm is when u do and This style is called FLOWING GEARS u can shift up or shift down. to be honest this style helps alot when u r in the city..

I tried with my 2 personal cars nissal altima stick shift and a 92 manual Honda civic as well they are fun if u do it correctly other wise u will be grinding gear is not good for the tranny!! like i said it required a lot of practice and be focus on the road while u flowing gears.. U wont damage tranny if u do it correctly just play with rpm and gas pedal.

first engaged 1st gear to take off as normal then when u r about to shift up decelerated slowly with the gas pedal at the same time while u try to shift up from 1st to neutral to 2nd has to be smoothly... good luck
