How do you change sidelight on Daewoo Matiz?

I found by trial and error the easy way is to take out the headlight bulb and push out the sidelight bulb and holder. Pull the old bulb out and replace then put it all back in reverse order. It is possibly easier to remove headlight from the car which is easily done by removing body coloured trim under the headlight then remove three ten mm bolts, detach wiring and lift unit away.

Where is the thermostat housing located on a 1997 Daewoo cielo?

it is located near the time belt, to get to the part you need to pull the camshaft out. that means taking the timing belt out.if u need a manual just leave your email and I'll mail the full repair manual for your daewoo cielo at this site thanks.

If it's a twin cam 1.5 engine the thermostat is at the front of the engine the radiator top hose is leading to it.To remove it there are two bolts holding the housing to the engine one bolt can be seen easily the other is hidden underneath.Remove the housing the stat is inside, now you must separate the two half's of the housing but is will be seized, soak it in realise fluid for a few hours.then carefully using two screw drivers or similar lever the two half's apart, inside is the thermostat.

Before assembling clean the housing with a wire brush so the two half's go back together easily coat the parts of the housing that slide together with copper grease anti seize compound then re-assembly is reversal of removal.hope all this helps.note: you don't need to remove the timing belt or covers.

What would make a Daewoo not start?

Most probably its the starter coil. That's evident if on turning the ignition key, there is a clicking sound. It may be also bad alternator with a worn out battery

No fuel getting to engine or spark plugs not firing for some reason. Sorry, you have to find out which.

How do you replace the camshaft position sensor on 1999 Daewoo and where can you find one?

You can find a camshaft positioning sensor and any other Daewoo parts through Lipscomb Mitsubishi. How to change it I don't know if anyone has the answer please E-mail me

--I have a 2000 Nubira (2.0L engine) and the camshaft position sensor is located inside the timing belt cover, on the passenger side of the engine, and behind the timing belt. The right engine mount bracket has to be removed so make sure you support the engine first--the alternator seems to have a pretty stout bracket to place the support under. The sensor is located towards the very top, behind and between the two camshaft sprockets/gears.

Rear seat removal 2000 daewoo laganza?

If someone has done it, please confirm or correct.

Do daewoo kalos 1.4 sx dohc suffer from sticking engine valves?

yes my 2004 auto SX does, it has just 38000 miles on the clock. The sticking valves symptoms started at 29000 miles. I get a multiple missfire and it affects the auto transmission. I read the Valves will cosy £800 to replace, I will not bother, I will trade it in before that!

Would a failing O2 sensor cause excess fuel consumption on a daewoo cielo?

Yes it would. O2 sensors work with the car's ECM to tell the car how to burn the fuel and how the fuel is burning. This is a strong possibility.

How do you change the clutch cable on a Daewoo matiz?

probably best to get a manual .I didnt have one and spent a long time.(I do most of my own car mechanics and found it a sod.)The problem,as typically on my car is very tight access and corroded fixings. First get a new cable and study it and look under the car to follow the course of the cable as it isn't obvious from the top where it enters the engine compartment .(You will need to jack up the car a little and secure safely with axle stands to get to the clutch end. )The stirrup end attaches to a notch in the clutch pedal arm and this is kept in place by the end of the spring that tensions the clutch pedal. I found it necessary to take the whole clutch lever off its bush(14 mm socket)but note carefully which way the spring goes on the shaft and where the 2 free ends locate. If you don't it might take you along time to work it out. The outer cable is attached by a bracket with 2x 10 mm headed shouldered nuts and is very difficult to access with spanners as very little room. I used ratchet spanners and it was very awkward ;perhaps an1/4th drive socket might have worked better. Dont lose the nuts. Pull the cable off and you will note there are 2 little spacer bushes that go over the studs on the bulkhead .Dont lose these either as the new cable wont come with them and you need them to reattach the nuts properly, which will dig in otherwise. At the other end the cable passes through a holder and rigid bracket to the left front side of engine .You will find a threaded rod that goes through a pivot pin in the clutch actuater arm and is fixed by a special adjuster nut This might be corroded on and if so you will need to saw through the threaded rod.If you are lucky you may be able to get the nut off the remnant with heat and a vice.I couldn't but 2x10 mm bolts will do (one will act as a spacer in the arm) leave the old cable roughly in place for now.

Guide the new cable behind the engine by the old one. Use a piece of bent wire from the cabin side to draw in the stirrup of the cable and make sure the cable is the right way up. Connect the stirrup into the notch and grease and reassemble the clutch pedal pivot and spring the correct way !!.Then reattach the outer cable bracket with the 2 stud spacers and shouldered bolts. I found it difficult to get the nuts to the studs due to the space constraints and dropped them several times.Whenyou achieve this go to the other end and insert the cable end though the brackets and into the pivot pin .Then force the rubber cone into its bracket and do up the adjuster nut on the clutch arm until there is only a little free play in the arm . I found that the clutch pedal was high initially then the cable slacked off considerably after a few miles and had to readjust hugely (my daughter was 10 miles away by then )This is easy however

Possibly i was having a bad day. Should be 15 mins ,took me 2 hours!!

How to set the timing marks in a Daewoo Lanos 1.5 L 1998?

If this is a single overhead cam, possibly A15SMS (engine type):

If you have everything stripped down and can see the crank shaft gear, you will notice an arrow stamped into one of the gear teeth.

this arrow must point towards the bottom, you will notice a mark (notch) cut into the housing, line the arrow on the gear with this notch. remove the four 10mm bolts that secure the top cover of the timing belt, gently open the cover (not removing it) to see the Cam Gear. You will not be able to remove the cover because of the design.

The Cam Gear should have a line stamped into one of its teeth, this should be pointing up and towards the top. On the inner cover you will notice a notch in the casing, line both up together if it is not already. You can check the following if unsure:

Remove # 1 spark plug (nearest the Cam Belt) and place a long screwdriver in the hole carefully to feel the piston is at the top, #2 and 3 will be down and the last one #4 at the distributor end will also be up. Remove the rocker cover and you should see the Cam loabes on #1 piston free, (no pressure on the cam shaft) meaning the valves are closed.

I have a daewoo espero 1.8 CDI Auto the problem i have is i cant seem to find the crank sensor legend has it its in the dizzy unit is this true if not then where is it cheers?

Most Daewoos have coil distributor packs on the side of their engines(especially E-Tec motors). If yours has one then you will have a crank sensor which is usually located behind the crank pulley next to what you call a timing wheel(which is magnetic). This sensor is made out of thin coated wire made into a coil which produces alternating current that the ECU interprets. The ECU then converts the current into on and off DC signals which is sent to dist coil pack and injectors to time your engine correctly. Therefore the crank sensor(usually black in color and cylindrical in shape) tells the ECU the position of crankshaft. If you have a distributor with a rotor cap, the sensor will be inside it therefore your car won't have a sensor on its crank.
