i accidentally hit the button sometimes and dont know it til i am going. a few times i have gotten into 4low because i hit the button and as i was switching to drive, i passed neutral and it jumped. my 95 you had to hesitate on neutral.

You may try checking the clutch mastercylinder for fluid level. It will be located on the firewall close to the brake mastercylinder. If it's low, it will cause the transmission to grind instead of going into gear. It could also be bad. You can tell by having someone depress the clutch pedal while you watch the clutch slave cylinder to see if it's expanding. It should move out when the clutch is pushed. If those two things work and the transmission oil is at the correct level then you've got an internal problem.

To change front wheel bearings on a 1976 four-wheel drive GMC Sierra, you have to use the proper tools. Either by a mechanic or yourself; but you are required to know the basics. Being that these bearings are sealed and cannot be repacked with grease. It is important to replace the worn bearings, with the new ones. Before they damage the hubs.

Sometimes, but most of the times first gear is stronger than rear.

A 4 wheel drive vehicle must have the same gear ratio in the front and rear differentials including the rim and tire size on all four corners.

The transmission may not be building up pressure until the fluid warms up. Check the fluid level to make sure that its full, then check the transmission filter as it could be stopped up.

You are probably going to be looking at a"rear-end" job in the near future. The rear differential on my '99 1500 4x4, which is a Chrysler 9.25, just went out. When I removed the cover, I found the gears in pieces and a tooth missing from the ring gear. I actually have 171,000 miles on my truck, but from the research I've already done, they have been known to go out as early as 70,000. This is very dissapointing. I have changed my fluid regularly, also and not really been off roading. I use my 4x4 for the snow. Why would they put such a crappy differential in such a good truck? This job which I am going to let a pro handle, is probably going to run me $650 to $1000 for a used rear end. After that I am going to look for a new truck. Good luck with yours.

Each Entex PSE tab contained: * 120 mg pseudoephedrine hydrochloride * 600 mg guaifenesin in a scored, long-acting tablet. Since that formulation is not available from Dura (manufacturer) any longer, you can do the following:

600 mg Mucinex Guaifenesin Extended-Release Tablets (Adams Laboratories, Inc.) taken at the rate of one tablet every 12 hours would be equivalent to the guaifenesin content of one Entex PSE tablet taken at the same rate. Since the Entex PSE is "long-acting" and Mucinex is "Extended-Release," I would argue the rates are equivalent.

30 mg Non-Drowsy Sudafed (Warner-Lambert Consumer Healthcare) taken at the rate of two tablets every 6 hours would be the equivalent of the pseudoephedrine HCl content of one Entex PSE tablet taken at one every 12 hours. The Sudafed is not a time-release formula, so you should expect to take the 30 mg tablets more frequently in the smaller dosage (30 mg). You will have to sign the registry at the pharmacist counter in order to purchase the Sudafed, but as long as you do not have a "Meth-lab" in your home, you can probably feel safe in registering your purchases.

I am not aware of time-release formulations of Pseudoephedrine HCl, but you should be cautious of additional ingredients such formulations may contain.

If you were accustomed to breaking the scored Extex PSE, you should be aware that Mucinex tablets are not to be "broken." There are other brands of Guaifenesin available over-the-counter, so you could adjust to a lower dosage by purchasing one in a lower strength. I have found 400 mg guaifenesin, but I don't recall 300 mg tablets. Beware of Guaifenesin containing additional ingredients which may not be advisable in combination with Sudafed. If you are looking for a replacement for Entex PSE, stick to the ingredients of Entex PSE --- that makes sense, huh?

In any event, do not exceed the manufacturers' recommended dosages of either and be watchful of potential side-effects of both drugs. It is likely the side effects of the "roll your own" version would be the same as that of the Dura tablets you were taking, but there is no guarantee of that.

If you follow the shifter down to the bottom of your Durango, you will see that the "C" clip that holds that shifter to a transition bar that goes back to the gear case has fallen off. The bar should still be dangling there and you can replace the clip. (hopefully) Gene

On a typical 6X4 truck a third differential (power divider) is provided to distribute power evenly to the front and rear differentials. It compensates front to rear just as an axle differential compensates left to right. Power dividers can be automatically or (most likely) manually locked (via air pressure) when traction loss occurs on one or more wheelsets.

There is a plu8g on the center of the diff. Remove it and stick your little finger inside. If you feel fluid then it is ok, if not add some. Add through the same hole until some runs out. the bottom of the plug opening is the proper level.

Crown wheel bolts 58Nm, use `Loctite Studlock`

Bearing caps 90Nm.

governor on side of transmission inoperable,not spinning its a centrifugal switch.

I would check the u-joints on the drive shaft, they could be going out. Good Luck and Remember.

If the clutch is slipping, chances are you probably won't fix the problem by adjustment anyway. Most late model cars have either hydraulic or cables to operate the clutch and are not adjustable, other than to possibly add fluid in the hyd system or to take up slack in the cable.

it's simple on auto locking hubs YOU CAN'T UNLOCK THEM!!! LOL if your still stuck in 4wd then you need to replace or remove a acuator that is located on the front axle it should have a plug and or a cable on it if not then you have a vaccum setup which is harder to config. there are four vac line going to the tranny one goes up front from tranny one goes to engine for the vaccum and and another goes to the tranny and one more goes to the front axle if one leaks then if you had it in 4wd and it leaks you stuck there if in 2wd and leaks your stuck there but this should help you
