How do you stop the indicator lights for AC and rear defrost and rear wiper from blinking on a 1998 Caravan?

Why do the middle console lights AC rear wiper flash after replacing the battery in '98 Chrysler Town Country How can these lights be reset?

This problem has bugged many of us T&C van owners. I have found several answers. I have tried them all to no avail. That doesnt mean that you can give it a go. This is one I tried that actually did make things better (two lights now instead of four flash).

a.. Set Blower motor ON HIGH b.. Set Mode position to Panel c.. Open all A/C outlets d.. Set Temperature to Cold (Both slide pots if equipped) e.. Depress WASH and REAR WIPER button simultaneously for 5 Seconds (Until all LED's light) RESULTS: a.. All LED's will turn on for 5 Seconds b.. Calibration Test is running when REAR WIPER and INTERMITTENT are alternately flashing. Cooldown test is running if A/C and RECIRC are alternately flashing. Wait till all lights stop flashing and only the aft wiper light is flashing. c.. Acceptable results is REAR WIPER LED is the only LED flashing. Push Rear Wiper to exit. d.. After all tests have passed, Calibration Diagnostics and Cooldown can be run separately. COOLDOWN TEST ENTRY a.. Set Blower motor ON HIGH b.. Set Mode position to Panel c.. Open all A/C outlets d.. Set Temperature to Cold (Both slide pots if equipped) e.. Depress WASH and A/C simultaneously for 5 Seconds NOTE: Prior to start of test, If the evaporator is already cold, the system will fail test. To correct, operate system with A/C OFF and the blower motor ON high for three minutes prior to starting test.

RESULTS: a.. All LED's will turn on for 5 Seconds b.. Cooldown Test is running when A/C and RECIRC. are alternately flashing. If A/C and RECIRC. are flashing simultaneously, Cooldown has failed. I you.. It did seem to help most folks. Its a shame that no Chrysler dealer in my area is even aware of this problem. If my machanic had known about this he could have dealt with it when he changed the battery. Good Luck!!

How to adjust a belt tensioner for a 1999 dodge grand caravan?

The belt tensioner is automatic and does not need manual adjustment. Put a 15mm socket on the tensioner nut and push downward a few times. The internal tensioning spring should put it back into the tight position on the belt again. If it does not, then the tensioner needs replacement.

How do you replace wiper blades?

1. Buy the correct-fit replacements. Correct replacement windshield wiper blades are not only correct length, but also correct attachment. Never just buy by length only. Always lookup your vehicle in an application guide at the store or now-a-days you can 'lookup wiper size' online. The key to an easy install is correct size/correct part numbers.

2. The new replacement wipers will have step-by-step, illustrated instructions. Take your new wiper blades and instructions out to your vehicle and physically get the old and new wipers in your hands and take a look. The instructions will make 100% sense once you're looking and touching them.

3. Most wiper replacements do not require tools and take approximately 2-15 minutes.

What type of antifreeze should be used in a 2000 Dodge Neon and what is the capacity?

I have a 2000 Dodge Neon myself. The owner's manual specifies ethylene glycol antifreeze. The capacity is 6.0 quarts (6.5 if you count the reservoir where you add the fluid).

Is there a fuse problem if your master key is not opening all the doors of your 2001 Passat on the second click and if so which fuse or what other possibilities?

I have had the same issue with my 2002 GLX sedan. I am having issues with the alternator charging intermittently. This has caused my battery to slowly discharge, with iteventually needing replacement. Anyway, this keyless entry issue seemed to happen to me at times when the car battery was almost dead.

How do you wire or connect a CD player in a caravan?

Easiest way to do it is to buy a $10 wiring harness kit at a parts store and follow the instructions to connect it to your new stereo. This will save you much headache and possibly keep you from damaging you car's circuitry. Plus, you can do the wiring in the comfort of your house instead of the cold garage.

The wiring connections can be twisted together and taped. I prefer soldering and heat-shrink insulation. Once the harness is wired to the radio, all you have to do is plug it into your car's harness and you're good to go.

Why front speakers of dodge caravan 1999 do not work?

Location of cabin filter in a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan?

If your vehicle is equipped with one, it should be located on the passenger side, underside of the dash near the center console. It should be a black plastic snap-on cover about 1 1/2 inches wide by about 6 inches long, that may or may not be marked "cabin filter" (or something similar). Simply pop it off, pull out the filter (pay attention to its correct orientation, the airflow direction matters), install a new one, if necessary, and reinstall the cover.

You may need to use something to pry the filter out enough to grab, and you will likely need to bend the filter to remove and/or install it.

Why would a 2003 dodge stratus die while driving?

alot of things...read up on diagnosis ...

...everyone should have a manual for their vehicle(parts store or dealer), and a local library should have professional shop manuals available in the REFERENCE section for free...make copies of the appropriate sections...read up and good luck :)

I have an 04 Stratus, and have the same problem. Take it to an auto parts store that does code reading (or buy one), and read the codes. I've had 7 errors come up on one, and they all effect how long the car runs.

First, Cam sensor (looking at the engine, its on the left side, underneath the 1 1/2 inch rubber tube. Second, Crank sensor (real pain in the butt to change) Right side of engine--remove air intake. Sensor fits the same plug as the cam, but they are NOT the same--found that out the hard way. 3rd Low battery. Replace it if it needs it. Remove drivers tire--looking at the rotor its on the left side. remove panel, remove battery. and replace if needed. 4th MAP sensor, have not gotten around to replace this yet. 5th (6th and 7th) Barometric Pressure Sensor. No idea the car even had one. Dont know its location either. I've had all those errors, and replaced all but the MAP and BPS, and it still stalls mid-drive. Problem still isn't resolved. Oh, forgot about the random mis-fire on cyl. 5 --have had this problem for a LONG time now..I'd say about 30k+ miles, so I'm pretty sure it doesnt have too much to do with stalling.

Here's some pictures to help explain:

What would cause a vehicle to jerk while driving down the road and after turning off vehicle it won't crank the does not crank also engine service light come on and off at the time when driving?

A flashing service light (called a MIL or malfunction indicator lamp) indicates misfiring has been detected. DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR $$$$$. Get the misfiring repaired, could be bad coil or coil packs, bad wires, bad plugs. Driving with misfire can destroy the catalytic converter.

Where can you find a diagram for a 1998 Plymouth Voyager?

Why does 1991 dodge Caravan vibrate at 30 to 40 mph ONLY when accelerating if it has new tires properly balanced and aligned with good bearings and tie rod ends and engine runs smoothly?

check cv axles. the axle is bad, out of balance. They may not click like you usually have when they are bad.

This happens on acceleration only and will go away when you let off of the gas . replace both, or play one at a time. Chances are they are the factory originals.

Why does the evaporators condensate drain seems to drip a lot 1998 dodge caravan?

The amount of condensation that comes from the evaporator depends on the humidity level outside. The more humid it is, the more moisture you'll have. On a brisk day...you shouldn't notice much drainage. I've also seen a lot of drippage when the evaporator is leaking also. Those are easy to check. Pull the glovebox all the way down, pull the rubber cover containing the fin sensor out and you have a clear shot of the evaporator. Or, if you know what R134 smells like, you can always tell because of the freon odor from the vents.

How do you adjust the camber angle and toe in on a 2000 Dodge Caravan tires worn on inside edge?

I posted this question and thought I would give additional detail. My front wheels are wearing on the inside. The vehicle rides smooth and straight, down the road. I think the only adjustment I need to make is the "Toe". The three adjustments involved in an alignment are caster, camber, and toe in. The actual adjustment of these angles is beyond the scope of the home mechanic and must be performed at an alignment shop. The adjustments must be made in relationship with the vehicle centerline, the ball joint axis, and the ground, it is an exacting process in which expensive machines are used to determine the many factors involved in making an adjustment.

Your dodge caravan 2005 doesnt start and you hear three clicking sounds when you turn the ignition what is it?

We just had the same problem on a 2005 caravan. Auto parts store tested it and siad the alternator was bad. Took it to main dealer and they said the battery was bad. They changed the battery and all is well.

(Main dealer battery $160 so beware!!!!!) Try a new battery from somewhere cheaper.

You can also remove the alternator and take it to an auto parts store where they can bench test it and tell you if it is bad. They can do the same with the battery.

If speedometer is pulsing and causing auto transmission shifting problems on 1995 f250 powerstroke how do I find Problem in wiring harness I've changed speed sensor checked connections at trans also?

Check wiring all along the harness. If the tranny is shifting up or down suddenly and for no reason there could be a short in the harness. 90's ford had a problem with this. May need a new harness or have to make one up yourself.
