It could be leaking back through the fuel pump check valve or the pressure regulator or even leaking through a damaged or gummed injector. If it's just loosing pressure, the simple fix would be to turn the key on for a couple seconds but not engage the starter, then turn it off then start the engine. That should let the engine start a little easier provided that it's just leaking at the fuel pump or the regulator. Before you throw a lot of money at a fuel pump, injectors and/or regulator, try a little injector cleaner first. It might just be that you have a small amount of deposits on one of the above mentioned parts, and a little cleaner might be all you need. Good luck

Remove the cup holder and ashtray assemblies, pull the dash face off (tilt the stearing wheel all the way down). Then remove the bolts that hold the radio in the dash, pull the radio out and unhook all the wires from the back.

I THINK YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR PASSKEY SYSTEM The charging system or the starter is mostly likely your problem. I just went through this with my Cadi. What ended up being the problem was that the factory alarm within the car was starting to fault. The alarm had to be replaced and a new ignition cylinder, and new pass key. Answer Other posters are correct, the pass key system is malfunctioning intermittently. Over time the black plastic insert in the key wears out causing it to read improperly when inserted into the car. The pass key system then kicks in and shuts off the starter and fuel pump as a security precaution which leads to no starting. My Deville had the same problem so I took it to be tested at a GM dealership (has to be GM, others don't have the equipment) and they will make you an exact copy of the key for between $25 and $60 depending on the place you go to. The key should be replaced as soon as possible or the car may not start at all when the sensor cannot read the key code anymore.

Remove the screws form the door panel. One is in the center of the panel, one is at the top front of the door panel behind the mirror and there is 2 small ones at the bottom. Remove the bolt holding the door handle on. Lift the door panel up. It has hooks molded into it on the back that hold it on. Disconnect the wiring plugs from the back. Install is reverse. Very easy to do and no parts to break off. It's easier to reinstall if the window is down.

Assuming you have an automatic transmission, the dipstick should be located toward the rear of the engine on the passenger side. With vehicle warmed up and parking brake applied the transmission fluid is checked with the transmission in neutral.

I'd try a Hane's manual first. It would be the cheapest way to go. As a side note, if there are vacuum lines disconnected, it's possible that it was done to fool an emissions test to get it to pass. If you need to pass another emissions test, you might want to disconnect them again before the test (or spend the thousands of dollars replacing parts trying to get the truck to pass).

When the O2 Sensors are malfunctioning or missing ,The On Board Computer sets the fuel/air ratio to a default setting. Resulting in really poor gas mileage . Roughly around 12mpg *yuck* (at least this is what I got in a simliar situation on my '96 Dodge Ram 1500) The OBC uses the readings it gets from the O2 Sensors to properly calculate fuel/air ratios ect... So by all means replace them. Unless you like to fill up every two blocks and pay $4 a gallon each time. Hope this helps :)

try checking your engine coil, you can have it tested at an auto parts store. not sure where it's located on your vehicle but if you have the book on it it should tell you. it should only be a couple of bolts to take it off. if that's not getting power or not putting out power your car won't start.

If you have put the distributor back in the proper position and its not out a tooth you might try to disconnect the battery for a few minutes (5-10 to be safe) to reset the computer. I really think you're out by a tooth which has changed the timing though...

i have a 87 dodge Dakota v-6 pick upat the bottom of the bell housing there are 2 bolts one on each side that hook to a bracket.that hooks to the moter.remove both bottom bolts,you will be able to move and bend the bracket on the starter side out of the way,also will be able to pull the sheet metal gauard from the lower half of the bell housing out.take the top and bottom bolts out of the starter you will need to twist and turn the starter to get it out.but its not all that bad.that is the way i did mine hope this was some help to you Dave

Have the jeep towed to your dealer! The jeep has a computer in it that moniters all of the individual computers for all your power options, a no bus signal means that nothing is talking to each other. The bus is the network for all the computers. This is something that the dealer can fix in a lot less time than anyone by them selfs. It may cost more than you want but if you keep working on it without knowing whats going on you will do more damage than good and it will cost way more than you want to pay. So have it towed in and tell them what you know. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There's two possible reasons why this is happening.......the most likely is the Crank Position Sensor and it's located at the back part of the top lip of the transmission. It relays the timing on the top of the flywheel to the computer. I replaced mine myself, but it is a HUGE PAIN TO GET TO.....so it's best to take it to someone to have it done. If you have time to wait for it, you can get the CPS from Quadratech for about $29. The other reason and is VERY UNLIKELY, is the mapping sensor in your dash, behind your guages... Dealerships will probably know both of these, but will charge you an arm, leg and first born to replace it. Hope this helps.....

the code P0123 means, Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit High Input. sounds like a wiring problem to me.

I had the same problem with a 99 Toyota tocoma when i replaced it i had to reset the CPU. On a dodge you should be able to disconnect both batteries for 15 mins to 1 hour and it mite reset.

the best place to find a diagram for this would be to go to a shop that uses the program all data. usually they will print you out a copy there. if not, alldata has a website now at alldata.com here, you can pay to have them give you a diagram.hope it works out for you.

Fuel filter may be clogging up enough to not provide enough gasoline to keep the engine running, but will accumulate enough gasoline in it to re-start the vehicle.
