How do you locate a starter in my 1996 eagle summit?

The easiest way is to first remove the air intake hose. This is located on the left side of the engine compartment when looking from the front of the car. One end of the hose is where you're air filter is located. The other end of the hose connects to the intake manifold. I believe it is only one screw for the clamp that connects it to the intake manifold. There is also a sensor that is plugged into this section of hose that will need to be unplugged to remove it. Once this hose is removed, you will have increased visibility behind the engine. The starter is located behind the engine just under the intake manifold. You will see a "lump" on the edge of the transmission case toward the top of the transmission where the starter connects to the flywheel. There are only two bolts holding it in place -- one on each sice of the lump. Remember to disconnect battery power before removing the starter. This will prevent shorting the wires.
