A power surge at idle in a 1992 Eagle Summit could be caused by several factors, including a malfunctioning idle air control valve or a faulty throttle position sensor, which can disrupt the air-fuel mixture. Additionally, issues with the ignition system, such as worn spark plugs or a failing ignition coil, can lead to inconsistent engine performance and surging. Electrical problems, such as a failing alternator or battery, may also contribute to fluctuations in power delivery. Regular maintenance and diagnostics can help identify and resolve these issues.

You know that you are not getting any spark and you cant seem to find where anything is And you know that you dont have a distributor How do you find out how to get spark?

...don't you need a distributor? unless you're coil on plug, and computer controlled, it needs a mechanical distributor. apart from that, bust out the repair manual. it will tell you where everything is, usually with a picture for reference. if you still can't find it, you probably shouldn't be working on the vehicle. if the picture helps you find stuff, you need to trace the wires from the ecu to the coil (if computer controlled, ensuring no breaks) and from the battery to the coil, check the coil, if good keep moving up to the distributor, if that's still good, check your plug wires.

Where is the rest button for srs light on a 1994 eagle summit wagon?

My shop manual indicates a special scan tool is used to read the fault codes. If the light is on it is indicating a fault somewhere in the system. This or these faults will need to be corrected for the lamp to go out. The same holds true at start up. If you have no light at start up for a few seconds, this also indicates a fault in the system. Try a Mitsubishi dealer if you have no luck with Chrysler. Summit wagons are re-badged Expo LRV's.

I almost purchased one, basic model, asking price $5,200. Should have purchased it, didn't realize it had rustproofing. I thought the steering was a bit loose and wasn't comfortable with AMC reliability. I ended up with a 1980 Pontiac Sunbird.

What transmission fluid goes in a 1992 Eagle Summit?

Hi there,

I have a 1992 Eagle Summit ES hatchback. I bought the car with the original manual book. The recommended trans fluid (automatic trans) is ATF type "F", this is because the A/T does not use "friction modifiers" that are in the common "dexron" Auto trans fluid used in most cars (ford, chev, etc).

Use type "F" to keep your A/T shifting hard and gripping!
