Not sure about that year but for others it's no 4 in box under hood. Ford does have all owners manuals online for free. Fuse box layout and circuits will all be there if you no longer have your manual-if you do, that info. is in it.

Easy depends on your mechanic skills, and available tools. All the power and manual window parts bolt on and can be changed from one type to the other.

Are you sure it's not the switch. But I have taken off lots of Mercedes door panels. There should be a couple of panels that need to be popped off first to access some screws. One is behind the airbag piece depending on the year. Then there are a couple behind the door handle trim. Also remove the upper trim panel first.

Sounds like you have a bad power window motor. If that is not the case then the switches could be bad. Check them out with a test light to see if they are sending a signal. If they are then replace the power window motor.

unless you do this for a living don't. sunroofs are the bane of all car owners. basic sunroofs are bad enough but i suspect yours has 3 settins, tilt, slide etc. it is always the seals that are the problem i have never come across a diy job that has worked, and i have seen quite a few where they have been done in the shop and they have had to go back numerous times for correct refitting. do your homework and ask friends and family if they no of a shop that refit them all the time. but preferably go to a vw dealer and pay the extra they will charge to have it done right first time. there is nothing worse than going on a long drive and finding out the seals are not water tight. believe me the extra you will pay to a vw dealership will save you time and money in the long run.

Try looking at the fuse that corresponds to the things that are not working. Take the actual fuse out of the fuse box, and look at it, examine it. You will be able to tell immediately if the fuse is blown or not by the way it looks. If it is blown it will have some gray matter or black in there.....or the fuse will look messed up, or both. I just replaced the power window switch in my 98 Nissan Altima and it is very simple. I slide a flat blade screwdriver under the front edge of the housing pushing in the clip. Pulled up on the switch housing assembly. Unplug the connector and plug the new switch assembly in place. I bought a factory switch online from an autoparts warehouse for about $90 including shipping.

It is hard to do but it is possible.

I had to do this on an Audi S2, where I had tried to change the motor and hub whwhere the cables run into just pinged out of the motor gear assmebly and the cables unwound. I tried to restore this while it was still in the car and concluded it is impossible.

1. Do not attempt to do this in the car, you have to remove the complete regulator from the door frame. (remove the door trim, locate the regulator frame, usually 5-6 big nuts, lift the regulator and glass out of the door panel.)

2. The wires must be extremely tight, there are usually 2 maybe 3 tensioning springs which you have to fight against to get the wires back on the drum.

3. Set the window position to the middle of the run, ie half way up.

4. Wind the cables back onto the drum whilst maintaining tension. Complete 1 side first, then flip the drum over and start the other cable.

5. Check which way the drum fits back onto the winder gear and make sure the drum housing is the right way up.

6. Pull the second wire onto the drum, normally have to do a 180 flip or wrap the wire round and drop it into the channel.

7. Set the drum with the cables wound round, into the centre of the housing and locate one of the cable springs against the housing lug. Cable tie this so it does not slip out.

8. Holding the drum secure, pull the second cable tight until you can get the retaining clip over the housing. Cable tie this up.

9. Fit the top cover of the hub housing, making sure it slips under the two retaining clips.

10. Before fitting back onto the motor, check that when you move the window up or down he centre drum rotates correctly and pulls one cable in and the other one out. If not then you have the cable wound wrong, so you'll have to start again.

11. Place complete drum housing back onto the winding gear (motor assembly), you might have to move the window up or down to locate the driving gear sprockets into the hub sockets. Normally there are three spokes on the winding gear. Make sure the rubber dampers are included in the hub socket.

12. When the motor is alighned you will b able to close it all up and the job is nearly done.

13. Put the regulator frame back into the car and check functionality.
