The psi amount will be listed on the inside of your car door. You do not want to put more air into your tire than what is listed.

When the tires are rotated, the system needs relearn tire position. This may also be a problem in the system if the warning on the dash says "service tire monitor system". There is a service bulletin to replace a few parts and re-program the system to correct this. - TechJK

Yes, this happened to me once. Simply reset the dashboard display after rotating tires. The system works on an imbalanced number of revolutions at the wheel sensor of the ABS. First, make sure that the four tires are identical and have identical pressure. Then reset the display.

Assuming you reset the system you may have a bad ABS sensor. Try unplugging each one individually and see if the light goes out.

I recently had my 1998 Sienna serviced and this "flat tire" light/sensor came on several minutes after I drove away from the service garage. I checked all 4 tires and the pressures were correct. The service personnel manager thinks it may be because the car was slightly off-kilter on the hoist. Apparently this light comes on after detection of uneven height of the car; hence if not level on the hoist, the light will come on. The 1998 Toyota Sienna car manual does not mention that there is a "Reset button" located on the front dash at the level of the driver's left knee. To Reset, push in this button: the "flat tire" light will flash, then after a few more moments the light will go out.

there is a button near the hood release. Press it for a few seconds and it will reset the tire pressure indicator alarm.

If all tires are set to manufacturer's specs about 32-35 psi and they are all equal, it should go out by itself. sometimes the spare tire has a sensor also, so make sure it isn't flat.

All I can suggest is to check in the documents that came with the machine, or contact the manufacturer for information.

Recommended tire pressures can be found on the tires themselves. You'll have to look closely, though. Black on black can be difficult to read. Additionally, you can jot down the brand, the model and the size of your tire and call a good tire shop and they'll tell you right on the phone. So can the dealer. If you're on the road and happen by a big tire shop on your travels, they'll almost certainly check and properly inflate your tires at no charge (their motivation being that they might be able to "win you over" and get you to come to them when you need repairs or replacements). Proper tire pressure maximizes gas mileage, and it is safer to drive on them when they're at the correct pressure. But you knew that already.

As a bike, or any vehicle with inflated wheels roll forward, the tire gets deformed, kinda squashed out. Scrunching up the rübber takes energy, and the more scrunching the more energy it steals. With a properly inflated tire the folds and waves of the tire is quite small, so there's not a lot of power lost. But with a flat tire the folds and deformation is bigger, and so is the energy loss.

Car tire rims don't bend easily. I'd say that if your rim is bent you might have hit a rather large pot hole or perhaps someone else who drives your car could have run it against the curb at a pretty good speed as the tire has to almost collaspe before hitting the rim. Might want to keep an eye on potholes.

Underinflated tires wear faster on the sides than the middle.

bought a used 06 uplander and the label is missing indicating correct tire pressure setting. could someone who has one tell me what I should have them set to.

This is called the tread. It must be durable and heat resistant, and its grooves help keep it in contact with the road, especially when it is raining.

28-30 psi front, 36-40 psi rear.
