If I decide to ship my 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac to Zimbabwe Africa are repair facilities with access to Ford replacement parts available in Harare?

Hello: I am thinking of moving to Zimbabwe, Africa in 2010 & shipping my 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac with me. It will have about 100,000 miles at that time & have been covered by Ford's 100,000 mile complete warranty/repair coverage guarantee for the entire time. My question: Will I be able to obtain genuine Ford replacement parts & qualified repair work in Harare, the Capital city of Zimbabwe where I will be living? South Africa is adjacent to Zimbabwe with a common border: would I need to order parts through them instead? Does Ford Motor Corp. have linked business associations with Ford car dealerships in Zimbabwe either directly or through England which used to be the ruling colonial power in Zimbabwe prior to 1980? Does Ford Motor Corp have any parterships with any particular shipping line or in any way recommend a particular shipping line for such a projected voyage? Thank you for your help & advice.

Your 1990 Bronco will not shut off after the key is turned off and removed Is this the ignition switch The check eng light stays on after coil wire is pulled It still has power?

It is very possibly the ignition switch but there are certainly other possibilities as well. In any case, you'll need to learn some electrical diagnostic skills. The ignition switch appears faulty.

How do you check the computer on the 1989 Ford Bronco?

Question needs to be more specific. If you are asking about a "check engine" light, the EEC connector under the hood provides access to the stored codes. It can also be queried with an OBDI code reader.

Where is the fuel pump reset switch on a 1993 ford bronco?

It would be under the dash on the passenger side, its kinda tucked under. Or remove the passenger side kick panel and it should be in plain sight.

Timing diagram for a 1988 ford bronco?

timing diagramI don't know of a "diagran" for setting the timing, i do know this is how its done.I have had broncos from the first year they came out and just finished a 470 Hp 89 full size ground up rebuild. So the information I am going to post should work just fine.

Depending on what you are doing to your motor,if you are overhauling it you would need to set the timing marks on the cam and the crank shaft gears then install the timing chain. If you are just doing maintenance or minor work that requires setting the timing then the following info should be all you need.

On the crank shaft damper or harmonic balancer there will be factory timing marks BTDC (before top dead center) TDC (top dead center)ATDC (after top dead center) Most 5.0L(302) and 5.7l (351w) motors the timing sets between 8-11 degrees BTDC.

Also there are a couple of different ign systems used. Duraspark II-III are the most popular that I have seen. meaning the dist are different. If your truck has duraspark III you have to find a single wire that's capped off somewhere around the dist and un-plug it in order to set your timing. Remove the #1 spark plug and bring the piston to the top of the stroke.

check the rotor to see if it points to the #1 wire pin on the dist cap. if it doesnt then you have to remove and replace your dist to the right position. now you can use a regular timing light to set your timing. that's the way I have been doing it for years and it has always worked for me. hope this helps you out.

Where is the starter located on a 92 ford bronco?

Why would your 1988 ford bronco bog down when you give it gas?

Hi, could be lots of reasons. You do not state the engine size and such so I will be general.

1) Low octane fuel could be a problem. This could be because of ethanol or something like that, perhaps water in the fuel.

2) Vacuum leaks. start the engine and spray WD40 around the base of the intake and over all the vacuum hoses. If the idle speed increases you have found the leak.

3) Timing.

4) plugs are fouled/gap incorrect.

More info from you would help narrow the answer

Looking for the flasher relay location purchased from an Auto Parts Store for a 1998 Lincoln Continental?

FRONT SEATING AREA, DRIVER SIDE, UNDER DASH, MOUNTED ABOVE KICK PANEL. Wrong answer above: The 98' Lincoln Continental does not have a stand alone flasher relay even though the auto parts store will sell you one for around $9.95 it will not work on a Lincoln Continental (works on other Fords though). The turn signals and emergency flasher function is handled by the "Multifunction Light Control Module" part #13c788 and is located to the right of the steering column under the dash. Cost is about $600 at the dealer or $50 at a junk yard.... I know I did the same thing.

Can you put a straight-6 in a bronco II. How difficult is it?

Are you referring to the 300I6 that came in fullsize Ford Broncos? Yes, you can, but it's very difficult. The 300I6 is a long engine, and the Bronco II has a short engine bay. Often, it will require aftermarket electric fans (since the stock fan will go into the grill), and a lift on the Bronco II to help the oil pan clear the frame.

As with all engine's being transplanted into a vehicle they never were intended for, a lot of other custom work will need to be done as well.

That being said, they'd make a fantastic engine for the Bronco II.

How do you remove a stuck distributor rotor on a 98 Honda civic?

shoud be a Philips screw on the side of the rotor. remove carefully using a quality screwdriver.

sometimes the rotor sticks on. get a hammer and metal or wood bar/stick tap at the top behind the rotor to get it to move. it might take a minute but keep at it and it will eventually move . I had to tap mine all the way off the distro.

Or squirt some penetrating lube in the screw hole, wait a few minutes and try to twist it. When it breaks loose it will be easy to get off.

Will a Holley 5200 off a Ford Pinto fit a 2.3 Isuzu engine?

Yes, but if you're looking for performance, you might want to go with something bigger, like a weber dges.

To get a holley 5200 to fit on your engine, you have a few options. The easiest would be to see if you can get a redline weber adapter plate. Check their website, http://www.redlineweber.com/HTML/application_guide/ISUZU.htm and see if your exact engine model is listed there. The weber dgv 32/36 carb has the same base pattern as the holley, the holley is actually a liscensed copy of the weber. Try to get an adapter plate for your engine off eBay or something, and the holley will bolt right on to your stock intake manifold your second option, if you can't find an adapter plate for your engine, is to have a machine shop make a plate or modify your intake manifold to fit the carb. A third option is to build a custom intake manifold, but don't even think about this unless you know what you're doing.
