Usually the loose gas cap problem code will clear itself after starting the engine a few times once the problem is solved. If you want to use an OBDII code scanner, most of the newer model scanners will allow you to clear codes as well.

Yes. Park on a level surface. Start the engine and leave it in park. Pull out the stick and wipe it off. Insert it back into the transmission. Pull it out again and read the level.

Stop light Switch is bad...costs about 6 bucks to replace it....its on the brake pedal itself

I'm reading that this is a cracked cylinder, not the head, so I'd pretty much call the engine CRAP. The engine is not built to have the block welded or repaired in this way. If it's a bad cylinder (piston assembly) then that may be repaired, but as with most things, cost will depend on a lot of factors (area of the country and labor prices, replacement part prices, etc), and it may also require that the entire engine be overhauled. It may be less expensive, and possibly better in the long run, to have a new engine (shops rebuild them for resale, with a like-new warranty)installed. A junkyard engine may have similar problems, and you'll have spent a bunch of money for junk. whatever a new or remanufactured head costs. cracked heads must not be replaced, your welcome, mo the ford tech

I would check the ignition module located immediately to the right of your valve cover. A friend of mine has a Chevy Corsica that had the ignition control module or coil go bad and his car ran terrible. Ford stopped using distributors in Ford Escorts and their other 4 cylinder cars, because

the TFI module on the distributor were notorious for going bad.

Anything is possible. How much money and time do you want to invest.

Pull all of the bolts you can see then take out the side bolts (2 on each side). First take off the inner fender cover. Use a 9 inch extension and a ratchet to take the 2 side bolts off. Once they are off the front bumper cover will come off.

There may not be. Blower motors do not draw enough current to actually NEED a relay. Disconnect power from the blower and see if it will run directly from the battery. If it does, you probably have a bad switch in the dash. If the blower WON'T run with a direct connection, you might just have a bad blower motor. I pulled the blower, and it works great. I am not getting any power to the breaker or fuse box slot for the blower, that's why I was hopeful about the relay. Did you check the resistor pack located in the duct from the blower? It's located where the blower motor plug connects. I had an external wire connector to this pack that overheated and went bad, but wasn't obvious until I looked hard.

It takes special eqipment to flush the PS fluid. Get a turkey baster and suck all the fluid out of the PS reservoir and refill it. Do this several times and you will have effectively changed the fluid.

Try resetting the fuel cut off switch and see if the engine will start

I had to go throught the ford dealer to buy this part and it is one long piece that wraps around the engine. $15-$20 part I think.

I believe if you open the drivers door , on the latch pillar is an information

sticker that shows the original tire size on the vehicle from the factory

Error code P1506 is for the idle air control overspeed. Remove the idle air control valve and clean it with carburetor cleaner and check for vacuum leaks. If the problem persists change the valve.
