The viscosity of power steering fluid is not relevant to it's job (within reason) but more it's ability to function under extremely harsh and high pressure conditions. All these fluids are merely hydraulic oils as is ATF with Honda fluid containing an additional lubricant additive needed for their speed sensitive steering gears. Use exactly what the manufacture of your vehicle recommends and nothing else.

Before replacing the thermostat or any other component of your Windstar's HVAC system, be sure to check your blend door for functionality FIRST. The most common issue with heat or A/C in the late model Ford windstar is a broken blend door. A broken blend door actuator is almost as common as a broken blend door itself. Typically, the fix requires disassembling the entire dash and replacing the whole plenum box, which can be a costly repair.

Check the fluid reservoir. If the fluid level is low, you have a leak in the powering steering system. The problem could be a damaged steering rack. You will need to replace the entire steering rack.

The IRMC is located behind the serpentine belt on the top of engine block it is 3x3 black box with one electrical plug going to it,it controles a set of butterfly valves on each side of the intake. It also has some linkages that connect to each other the little plastic clips that hold these linkages together will get hot and break causing the vavles not to open and close. The clips are around $8.00 4 ea. from Ford.

If the hole is at the bottom of the water pump, the water pump seal has failed. It's unlikley that a freeze plug has rusted through, although it is certainly possible. Freeze plugs tend to be larger than a half dollar and press into the block at various places.

Sounds like a timing issue. Maybe the timing belt jumped. Take it to an Autozone, I think they do a free chek on computer codes.

If a Ford Windstar only drives in neutral, it may be due to a blown fuse. It will be best to check the neutral safety switch or brake pedal switch.

According to page 181 of the Owners Manual (see below), the maximum trailer weight is 3,500 lbs.

default is of course 'on', does your overdrive switch not work? Overdrive should be saving on gas mileage...To change, you would likely need some way to access the cars computer. Goodluck with that.

The MASS Air Flow sensor can certainly cause a problem if it's not functioning properly, but you should connect it, then run engine diagnostics to see what the COMPUTER says is wrong.
