On my Chevy truck it idles high when its low on antifreeze but if its not that more than likely its usually a vacuum line loose or cracked. good luck.
possible blown head gasket, and a fuel leak /// unless is a diesel engine, in which case it probably running too rich, possible turbo, possible valve timing, possible intercooler
After retrieving obd codes which one do you fix first?
The one with the smallest number. ie: p0200 before p1500
What happens if you accidentlly put a small amount diesel into a petrol car?
Depends how much, If it is less than 20% of the total fuel capacity then fill it up with gas and run it. It will smoke quite a bit but should be OK. Diesel has more lubricity than gas which should not hurt the fuel system. You might want to syphon out the diesel mixture best you can if it won't run any good. Running it should not hurt the injectors or to much just don't work the engine to hard as it may operate at a higher temperature. If it does run hotter then stop and you will have to clean out the diesel somehow. Running it to hot could result in engine damage.
Does the Vauxhall zafira diesel have a flywheel?

How do you know if ecm is bad?
Plug in a code reader. If you get no response, bad ECM or a bad wire/fuse going to or from it. But you may get symptoms of stalling, lack of power, bad fuel milage, and many more things that just don't seem right. But the code scanner will be you best angle of attack.
Where is the fuel filter located on a 1500 dodge ram 1995 5.2?
It is inside the fuel tank, part of the fuel pump module.
What does the diagnostic code P0720 mean in a 2001 Dodge 3500 diesel mean?
Output Speed Sensor Circuit, That is the two wire sensor on the side of the transmission.
Who manufactures the Kia 1.8 engine?
The Kia 1.8 liter engine is a Mazda engine used in the Protege' from the mid-90s. That and the 2.0 liter engine used in 1994-2002 Sportages were used from Mazda and if the timing belt breaks, it will NOT damage the valves, thus a non-interference engine.
What to do if battery is good and car won't start 2002 Chevy cavalier?
because your starting motor don´t work, maybe it is damage
How do you remove an engine on a 94 Saturn sl2 DOHC?
Disconnect and remove the battery, air cleaner and remove as much peripheral hardware as you can. Disconnect the exhaust manifold from the headpipe. Disconnect fuel lines, electrical connections (tag all electrical wiring to make certain that you can put them back where they belong) and the hydraulic power steering lines. Remove the bell housing dust cover (between the engine and transaxle) and disconnect the torque converter from the flex plate. disconnect the motor mounts while supporting the engine with an engine lift. FINALLY, disconnect the engine from the bell housing by removing the bolts that hold the two together.
CAREFULLY lift the engine while watching to make certain that you haven't missed something.
It all sounds a lot easier than it really is.
If you haven't done this before it's often good to invite an experienced mechanic to help you.
Why does diesel cost more than gas?
It's a supply and demand issue.
Demand for gasoline is much greater than that for Diesel.
Therefore, the supply of Diesel is less which drives up the price.
1999 Ford F-150 will not start turns over but does not start?
Clogged fuel filter or line. Don't laugh, out of fuel? it has happened to me.
Check the ignition control module. Its usually underneath the distributor. In my 1993 f150 it is located under the hood on the driver's side mounted to the right hand wall.
It looks like a plastic fork. Sometimes it has small metal contacts that look like teeth sticking out one of the sides. It also has a female receptacle on the end that looks like the head of a fork. That would be where the wires that run to the distributor cap connects to. The wires coming from the distributor cap should be a connector with a male end.
Disconnect the ICM. You may need a special tool to do so. The auto parts store should have the tool on hand. Check the ICM for a white chalky substance or corrosion on the metal plate on the ICM as well as the teeth of the forks. First try to clean the corrosion or chalky substance off. Then reconnect the ICM. Try to crank up the vehicle. Sometimes this may be the issue. It was in my case, I simply cleaned it off and reconnected it. If the corrosion is too bad or the vehicle will not start then you need a new ICM. I believe they run from 30 to 70 bucks with a lifetime warranty.
Another issue might be the air intake/intake air sensor. In most vehicles it is located in the engine air cleaner housing where the air filter is or connected to the air housing ducts that lead to the fuel injector. However in the 1993 ford f150 with a dual gas and propane tanks the air intake sensor is located directly above the exhaust manifold.
Be careful because there is a thermostat located directly in line with the radiator and looks exactly like the air intake sensor. Now the air intake sensor is extremely difficult to remove especially if the vehicle is older and has been exposed to extreme weather conditions. There are plastic tabs that connect the male portion that has wires running from it to the female portion on the end of the air intake sensor. The plastic tabs are extremely fragile and difficult to remove.
Now getting the AIT sensor out on models with dual fuel tanks is difficult. You can just break off the plastic piece on the old AIT and use pliers to remove the AIT. Otherwise I believe you'd need a 5/8 or 7/8 deep socket with an extension to remove the old AIT. If you get the old AIT out in one piece it can be cleaned (very carefully) and re inserted. If not, then you need a new one and they run about $15.99 with a two year warranty.
What to do when you have bad gas in tank of a 1987 Oldsmobile Delta 88?
It depends on how much gas and what you mean by bad. If you have very little fuel in the tank and you mean it is just old gas, then pour in a can of Seafoam or Techron fuel treatment. If you think there is water in the tank and the tank is less than 1/4 full, then pour in a can of a product called Heat. Now fill the tank with at least 5 gallons of fresh gasoline and start the car. Now if the car has over 1/4 tank of bad fuel, then you need to drain the tank. Since few vehicles have a drain fitting on the fuel tank, you'll probably have to siphon the fuel out. Don't even think about sucking on a garden hose to do the job. Gasoline can cause cancer. And if you inhale a mouthful into your lungs, it can easily kill you. Purchase an inexpensive hand pump and pump as much as possible out. At this point you can remove the tank and fully drain it or pour in the fuel treatment and Heat and then some fresh fuel. Depends on how contaminated you think the fuel is. If you decide to remove the tank, keep in mind that fuel hoses can have residual pressure, as well as fuel that can spill out when it is removed. Eliminate pressure by cracking a fuel line loose near the engine or depressing the Schraeder valve on the fuel rail.
Can you replace a 3.0 engine with a 4.0 engine on a 1998 Ford Ranger 5 speed?
Yes but you will need complete wiring harnesses and the ecm for the 4 liter v6 that's the only way.
How do you tell what engine you have in your 99 Mercury Sable?
The VIN number should have an indicator. VIN number references can be found online or in the repair manual for your car.
How much will it cost to have a used engine installed in a 96 Kia Sephia?
This question is probably easy to answer and can also be hard to answer, depending how you get it done. For example, I'm doin the job myself and I obtained a descent 1.8 engine for about $350.00 from a wrecking yard. They gave a 90 day warranty, so I'm installing it between the hours I come home from work. Labor work is by far very tidious and sometimes hard to acquire. Any other person that is installing the engine has their own price, but luckily for me, I'm doing it myself. If I was doing it for someone else I would probably charge by the hour. Depending how much an hour I would want it for. It might be 9.00,10.00, or more and an hour and like I said it all depends on the mechanic that will be doing the job. So be extra nice when time to get your price! Engine prices come in all sizes and range, so do some hunting around before you buy. And when it's time to buy, make time to carefully check out the engine for any damage. Make sure it's a good engine with less mileages. So good luck and have fun!
The 1996 7.3 L Power Stroke produced 215 horsepower @ 3,000 RPM & 450 lb-ft of torque @ 2,000 RPM. The 1999 7.3 L Power Stroke produced 225 horsepower @ 2,700 RPM & 500 lb-ft torque @ 1,600 RPM.
The 1999 7.3 L F-series features an intercooler (not available in vans), a smaller turbocharger, & larger 120 cc injectors compared to the 1996 Power Stroke's 90 cc injectors. The 1996 has a larger non-wastegated turbocharger, while the 1999 is wastegated.
Compression, engine tuning, & rotating assembly is the same in 1996 & 1999 models.
What is the difference between a diesel and an unleaded engine?
A gasoline engine intakes a mixture of gas and air, compresses it and ignites the mixture with a spark. A diesel engine takes in just air, compresses it and then injects fuel into the compressed air. The heat of the compressed air lights the fuel spontaneously. A diesel has not spark plugs. A gasoline engine compresses at a ratio of 8:1 to 12:1, while a diesel engine compresses at a ratio of 14:1 to as high as 25:1. The higher compression ratio of the diesel engine leads to better efficiency. Because of the higher compression ration, a diesel is built with much stronger components and tends to last much longer than a gasoline engine. Diesel fuel is a combustable, meaning that heat and pressure create an explosion, Lamp oil and Jet fuel are also combustables, diesles can opperate on about any combustable liquid if nessisary. Unleaded Gas is a flamable, meaning an open flame or spark causes an explosion, alcohol and propane are flamable as well but gas engines need some modifications to run on them.
IT IS ELECTRICAL CHECK YOUR FUES FIRST YOU CAN FIND IT IN YOUR OWNERS MANUAL IN FUSE SECTION
How do you know if you need to replace the crankshaft position sensor?
If the car doesn't start, but the belts are good, the fuel system is good, the ignition is good, everything is good, but you don't know whats wrong, then its the sensor lol
