There is usually a sticker with a small diagram of the belt path on the fan shroud or somewhere near under the hood near the nose of the truck. You'll probably need a 3/8 or 1/2 extension and rachet to move the idler pully into position for slipping the belt in place.

My truck is a 1995 Silverado but I would imagine they are the same. Open the golve box. On the outer left side you will find a cable attached. Slightly close the box and slide the clip forward to remove. You will then be able to squeeze the top of the glovebox a little and lower it down to remove.

You add fluid the same place you check the fluid level. If you have a newer GMC the transmission may be a sealed unit with no place the check the level or add fluid.

clean/replace distributor cap clean/replace spark plugs replace spark plug wires fuel injector cleaner may help, if equiped with a TBI or injection carburetor cleaner for carbs. check timing change fuel filter. replace catalaytic converter. does it smoke. if so what color? (blue, burning oil, black flooding,etc) does exaust smell like fuel (first5),rotting eggs(cat.conv.). does it backfire or diesel ( timing,incomplete burning).

to remove the dash board all you have to do is grab the trim around the gages and pull slowly work your way around until it comes off. all that is holding it on is some clips.

Open the hood, see the long hex shape screws going down into the headlamp assembly. Remove the bezel retaining screws. Pull the sealed beam unit forward and discount the plug from the rear. Change bulbs,but DON'T use bare hand to handle the new bulbs. And don't crank down on the screw when reinstalling. I did, and have to get a new headlamp assembly fram b/c I cracked it.

Remove the dash.

It bolted to the firewall directly behind/above the glove box.

If there is a trailer wiring harness on the vehicle for towing unplug harness under drivers side rear tail light to eliminate the trailer wiring that's probably the issue then plug factory wires together

The 3500 series dually with the 7.4L gas engine and a 4.10 ratio rear axle had a maximum factory tow rating of 10,500 Lbs. With the 4.55 rear axle ratio the rating increased to 12,000 Lbs. for the 4x4 and 12,500 for the 4x2.

Some non-dually 3500 series trucks came with the 5.7L engine. Their maximum tow rating was 8,500 Lbs. -- same as the 2500 series trucks. All diesel powered 3500 series trucks in '98 and '99 were tow rated at 8,500 Lbs. maximum.

The weak link for the 7.4L dually is said to be the OEM torque converter used in the 4L80E automatic overdrive transmission. With an aftermarket high performance towing specific torque converter and added transmission fluid cooling the 7.4L '98 and '99 GMC 3500 dual rear wheel trucks with a 4.55 rear end can easily tow a 14,000 pound fifth wheel or goose neck trailer provided at least load range D tires are used. OEM brakes (disc front, drum rear), suspension components and springs are adequate for this weight range.

Do not overlook your hitch rating. 10,000# is the max for a 2" receiver with a 2-5/16" ball and weight distributing spring bars. The 2-1/2" Titan receiver is rated for 12,000#. Fifth wheel and gooseneck hitches rated for up to 25,000 pounds are available.

Your 8" Bose Subwoofer is located in your center console, when you turn your music up loud, place your hand on either of the sidewalls, you will feel it. I used to have a 2005 Silverado 1500, 5.3L Stage 2 Chip, leather seats, all the works.. what I'm getting at is, that is a nice stereo setup, do you have the 6 disc changer in dash as well?

I would go to wal-mart, get a 4 sale sign, and park it in the front yard.

Check to see if you have a defective bulb. Turn signals/parking lights,and tailights a double filament, if one is bad (Both filaments touching) they will backfeed

The GMC is the vehicle that has the Sierra model.

A "bigger" cam without other engine mods like: Larger exhaust and intake system is a waste of money. While you had the engine apart did you port and polish the intakes? Did you do a valve job? Deck the head? Balance the per cylinder volume? Improve the flow characteristics in any way?

Oil filer is located under the engine on the driver's side, right next to the oil tank. It's hard to find and bearly visible if you are lokking under the hood. Crawl under and looking at the oil tank drain nut. you will see that the oil tank has a curve to accommidate the oil filter.

You don't reset it. One or ore of the sensors are bad, or something in the main brain is broken. You must fix the problem in order for the light to go out.

There's 1 on that truck and it is screwed to the side of the block beneath the exhaust manifold.
