Why would an automatic car make a short squeak noise while shifting between 3rd and 4th gears while accelerating hard?

This sounds like you have a loose or worn drive belt. Check all the belts and their tension.

This will depend on its condition. If the condition is very good, you should be able to sell it on eBay for anywhere between 30 USD and 60 USD. If it has autographs of drivers in there, it's worth a lot more, of course...

What the best spark plugs to use in 02 grand prix gt Pontiac?

The original factory plugs were ACDelco plugs (I believe Iridium) and were top notch! I would highly recommend another set of ACDelco iridiums simply because they perform well, consistently, and are well proven. P# 41101

1995 mercury villager cranks over but wont start will start briefly with a shot of starter fluid any ideas helpful?

Did this happen suddenly or did hard starting come on slowly? Several things come to mind. If the car was bumped, usually a pretty good jolt, the fuel pump shut-off switch may need to be reset. (red button normally located in the kick panel beside the park brake) Fuel pump fuse blown.(located in the power distribution box under the hood) Fuel pump not working. (if the fuse is not blown, remove the gas tank cap and listen at the fill spout while someone else turns the key to the ON position. You should hear the pump run for about 10 seconds) Blocked fuel filter, blocked injectors, bad fuel regulator, non-existant signal from the computer to the injectors. (testing and/or replacement of any of these conditions is best left to your local garage)

Where is the transmission dip stick on a 2000 jetta?

When my 1999 VW Passat seemed low on fluid, I discovered the manufacturer's theory it would never need fluid, hence, no dip stick. A dealership wanted $200 to change the fluid, and if it was ever low again, same problem. I dropped the pan and changed the filter, drilled a 7/16 hole in the front of the pan, tapped the hole 1/4 NPT, screwed 1/4 x 2 brass pipe nipple into hole, and installed pan. I then pushed 1/2" x 3' heater hose onto nipple, clamped it and brought the end up to hood level. I put in 5 quts. Pennzoil Muti-Vehicle ATF. That was one year/15000 miles ago- no problems.

Are 2004 grand am gt 3.4 liter head gaskets known do blowor just earlier years?

Any head gasket can blow......but to be honest the 2.8, 3.1 and 3.4 aren't really known for blown head gaskets. Sure it happens, but the biggest problem with some of the late 90s early 2000s was a weak lower intake manifold gasket. Not the head gaskets.

Where is the fuel pump located in a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire?

The pump is located inside the fuel tank. The entire tank must be dropped to replace the pump. I suggest picking up a Haynes or Chilton manual for the car and following their directions. There are several safety issues that need to be addressed, as you're dealing with volatile fuel.

What does it mean ify car starts smoking Should you change your oil?

It never hurts to change the oil, however it may no solve your problem.

What color is the smoke:

White---condensation- normal condition

Excessive white--could be a bad (leaking) head gasket allowing coolant to enter the combustion chamber.

Black-- could be raw (unburned) gasoline due to an overly rich mixture (ratio) of fuel to air. or cylinder that is not firing properly

Blue- oil being burned through the combustion chamber--due to internal wear of engine parts (piston rings or valves).

How do you tell if your fuel pump is bad on your 2004 Pontiac grandam gt?

You first need to see if the fuel pump is actually running. In order to do this you will need a helper. Open the fuel filler door and remove the fuel cap. Have your helper turn the ignition on without starting the engine while you listen at the fuel filler door. You should hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds then shut down. If you hear the pump running this tells you the fuse and relay are good. If the pump does not run check the fuse for the pump and fuel pump relay. Even if you hear the fuel pump running this does not mean is actually pumping fuel. The only way to test this is to perform a fuel pump pressure test at the fuel rail. Make sure to replace the fuel filter in either case.

Whole saler sold car no title?

I'm guessing you're asking how to get a title, if your car didn't come with one. It depends the state, you need to call you local Department of motor vehicles to find out. If it helps, in Ohio, you cannot get a title for a car that was sold with none.

How do you check the transmission fluid level on a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am?

Piece of cake. With the engine warm, pop the hood and find the transmission dipstick. it will be inside a long tube that's attached to the transmission. Remove the stick, wipe it with a clean cloth, reinsert in in the tube, pull it out and read it. If it's brown and stinks, have it changed. If it's red, clear and stinks, it's fine. If it's low, add dextron transmission fluid a quart at a time, reinsert the stick and check it again. Add one quart at a time until it reads full. You may have to wait between quarts for the oil to run down the tube to get an accurate reading. good luck.

There is no dipstick for the Transmission. Plug on rear side of motor. Best thing to do though is take it to Delta Sonic or someplace like that and just have it changed but be sure to ask them not to back flush the system for that causes alot of problems. Also I guess you could ask to see if the fluid is low so you can prevent future problems.

How difficult would it be to put a manual transmission in a '99 Grand Am GT?

I know that answer is the one you were looking for but just in case you really want to know, If you havent done it before or have someone helping you that has then your best bet would be to leave that to someone that really knows what their doing. You can do it but there is ALOT to change and I know your not taking in to consideration that the computer is NOT the same from auto to straight shift. You would be better off to buy the straight shift and sell the car you have. The straight shift is alot cheeper car than the automatic is and you would probably come out with money in your pocket after you traded. Ray
