The calipers need a 7 mm hex wrench. The Caliper holder to remove the rotors takes an 18mm socket.

This is a 2003 Ford escape..apparently it's the same as a Mazda tribute.

34mm for 2001 non-AWD

It is a metric size. Crawl under the vehicle and try different sizes. Start with a 17 mm. Use a 15 mm i just changed my oil its a 13mm no doubt

Hand tools as suggested by the name are hand powered. Power tools all have a motor, usually electric.

This week, I have changed the brake pads on two vehicles that I have never worked on before. I jack them up and get in there with a full set of Allen keys and small wrenches within reach. I look and see if it needs an Allen key or wrench and approximately what size. Then I try tools that may fit till I find the correct one -usually within 2 tries. - This is not a complicated exercise. . . .

I thought my system had star bolts, not Allen bolts. You may need star wrenchs. I think mine were 10mm stars

I'm pretty sure that takes a 7mm Allen key.

They should be 7mm but sometimes replaced with 10mm so could be either hope this helps!

it is a 6mm allen wrench. A ball type allen works best to get to the plug.

The plural of wrench is wrenches.

A wrench is a wrench. A screwdriver is a screwdriver. Two different things, one cannot be in the other.

In most cases you just have to experiment. Try a wrench that looks about right. If it turns out to be too large, try a smaller one.

T50 or T55

to remove the front brakes you need a 7mm hex socket and a 10 mm hex socket

A wrench touching ONLY the negative battery post/terminal will not produce a spark. For the battery to short circuit and generate a spark, something must act as a bridge between the two pots/terminals.

If the wrench in question were to touch both terminals, or to touch the positive terminal and a ground (typically the chassis of the vehicle) you will see a spark because the metal body of the wrench would create a path for the electricity to travel.

Intentionally creating sparks in this manner is highly UNRECOMMENDED as it will quickly drain the battery and also generate large amounts of heat. I severely burned my hand last year by touching the negative battery terminal when my starter motor died. The inside of the motor had created a short circuit which caused the rubber covering to melt off of the involved wires in just a short time. Luckily I was able to remove the terminal and end the short. The burn I sustained was small in comparison to the amount of damage the battery and vehicle could have taken from it.
