In the novel I conjecture that he died of the Black Death in 1348.

Society secured an individual from natural disasters and from wild animals. Society feeds, grooms, secures when an individual lives. It provides a sexual partner and helps to reproduce. Man is a thinking animal, only after his social behaviour improved. Thinking process depends on the language of the society and the language is a great gift and impact on an individual. As the language grown, his brain got developed to hold words, phrases and ideas.
Society allows the domination of individuals and ruling. Religion is the binding energy of a society. A society will be as strong as the logical strength of the religion that binds them. Religion is the medium of exploitation for thousands of years, even now. Ruling religious people created God(x) as a single answer for all unknown problems. God was very convenient answer that a ruler can manage the reasoning power of human beings.
