Peace

The future of the peace process is uncertain because of:

1. The intransigence of both sides;
2. The uneven balance of military and economic power between the Israelis and Palestinians;
3. Incursion of Jewish settlements into the West Bank;
4. Division of Power in the Palestinian terriories

One of the reasons for the intransigence is that the politicians on both sides are not free agents. They can not make important concessions because these would be opposed by their own electorates. Also, the Israeli side knows that time is on their side: the longer a settlement can be delayed, the more Jewish settlements can be built on Palestinian land.

The uneven balance of military and economic power means that one side can act in a way that some would see as arrogant, and at the very least demand concessions that would otherwise be seen as inappropriate. It also means that the Israelis can dictate to a large extent whom within Palestine they are willing to negotiate with. The use of military and economic power to lower the quality of life in the Palestinian territories may have once been intended to encourage as many as possible to depart, or to make the Palestinian Authority more amenable to an uneven agreement, but the outcome has been to increase the hostility of Palestians towards Jews.

Unless the Jews building settlements in the Palestinian territories see themselves as future citizens of a Palestian state, each settlement is really the theft of sovereignty, as well as the appropriation of a productive resource. The incursion of Jewish settlements into the West Bank not only creates resentment, but steadily makes Palestine less and less viable as a separate state. Unless Palestinians can see a future for themselves in a viable state, their hopes for a successful resolution are reduced. Sooner or later, it must be accepted that a two-state solution means the return of the settlements to the Palestinians.

Government of the Palestinian territories is split between Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Fatah in the West Bank. This makes it even more difficult for the President to negotiate on behalf of all Palestinians. This was not always so - in a relatively free and fair election, Hamas gained the majority of seats in the Parliament, but Israel and the West refused to accept the Hamas victory, with Israel making it clear that they would never negotiate with Hamas. Whatever the past, this is an abnegation of democracy on the part of the very countries that deride Arab nations for supposedly being unable to build democracies. Hamas was denied its role on the West Bank, but was able, in response, to create an autonomous dictatorship in the Gaza Strip.

"Known as the 'peace sign' throughout the 1960's and into the present day, this symbol is the Teutonic rune of death. 1950's peace advocate Gerald Holtom may have been commissioned by communist sympathiser Bertrand Russell to design a symbol to unite leftist peace marchers in 1958. It is clear that either Holtom or Russell deemed the Teutonic (Neronic) cross as the appropriate symbol for their cause.

"Throughout the last 2,000 years this symbol has designated hatred of Christians. Nero, who despised Christians, crucified the Apostle Peter on a cross head downward. This hideous event resembled the Teutonic cross and became a popular pagan insignia of the day. Thereafter, this sign became known as the 'Neronic cross.'

"The symbol's origin in history proves it to be the visual mystic character for 'Aum' (the split 'Y'). This is the sacred word to the Hindu. Chanting 'Aum' is supposed to help awaken 'the serpent power of Brahma' at the base of the human spine. Occultist Albert Pike also identifies this symbol as mystical in his book on Freemasonry Morals and Dogma.

PEACE SYMBOL or NERO'S CROSS: A broken, upside-down cross. To Roman emperor Nero, who hated and persecuted the early Christians, it meant destruction of Christianity. Revived in the sixties by hippies and others who protested nuclear weapons, Western culture, and Christian values, it now symbolizes a utopian hope for a new age of global peace and earth-centered unity. But many of heavy metal rock fans would agree with Nero and use it to mock Christ and His followers.

The 'law' simply says DO NOT BREACH THE PEACE. The courts on the other hand have added a few fine points to the intepatation. IF the debtor refuses to give you the car, leave; If the debtor tells you to get off the propert, leave; if the car is behind a locked gate/door, leave; basically if the debtor objects in any way, LEAVE. Most repo company trucks are equipped with cameras and recorders to video the proceedings. That protects the agent AND the debtor. Chapter 6. Default

§ 9609. Secured party's right to take possession after default

(a) After default, a secured party may do both of the following:

(1) Take possession of the collateral.

(2) Without removal, render equipment unusable and dispose of collateral on a debtor's premises under Section 9610.

(b) A secured party may proceed under subdivision (a) in either of the following ways:

(1) Pursuant to judicial process.

(2) Without judicial process, if it proceeds withoutbreach of the peace.

(c) If so agreed, and in any event after default, a secured party may require the debtor to assemble the collateral and make it available to the secured party at a place to be designated by the secured party which is reasonably convenient to both parties.

In Sanskrit every word has it's particular use-form, as in English the root- form of verb is'to eat' and then use-forms are is eating , ate, has eaten etc. Sanskrit is very particular about root-form and use-form.

Here Shanti is root-form and shantihi is use-form. So both means peace. But in Sanskrit the word shanti will never be used as it is.
