It has two busted gears, Either get a transaxel rebuild kit and do it yourself, Or get a new transaxel. alot cheaper to do it yourself.
What is the engine life expectancy on Plymouth Breeze?
Most of this is routine Maintenance with parts one would normally expect to wear out. Some, such as the Timing Belts may not have needed replacing, but I didn't want to wait for them to Break. Great Car, the most reliable vehicle I've ever had, I love it! I hope to get well over 200,000 miles with it!

Answerthe highest i have seen one go is 162,000 miles but that's just looking around not to be exact
AnswerWe have a 1996 Breeze with 175,000 miles on it. Repairs in the past 3 years have included 2 timing belts, water pump, both oxygen sensors, and other non engine repairs such as 2 fuel pumps, wheel bearings all the way around, tie rod ends, etc.
AnswerMy girlfriend's Breeze had a head gasket replaced at around 44K miles, and another one at 75K. The car is at around 80K now and needs a new transmission. Sad thing is she drives it like an old woman. Throughout the life of the car we've had to replace numerous electrical sensors and components, including the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) a few times.
If you're looking for a reliable car, a Breeze/Stratus/Cirrus/Neon/Sebring are about as far as you'll get from it. We're currently selling the car to buy her a Civic as a replacement.

How do you set the clock in a 1994-1995 Plymouth Voyager?
If the clock/radio is anything like the one on the '93 Plymouth Voyager, here is how you set the clock:
First turn on the radio, then press the set button. When it shows the "P" hit the select button, and it should change to just hours. Turn the Tuner knob to forward or back to set the time you want. Hit the Select button again to go to minutes, and do the same thing with the Tuner knob. Hitting the select button a third time will save the clock settings. ..

How do you change the transmission fluid in a Plymouth Breeze?
Hi, I own a 2000 breeze with the 2.4 liter and automatic transmission. I change my transmission fluid about every 30,000 miles or so. If you have jack stands or ramps it will make the job easier. Get a catch pan and get under the transmission pan cover. I believe there are 14 bolts to remove. I always start at the bottom and work my way up. No matter what you do you will get some fluid on you. After you remove the cover you will see the filter. Simply grab the filter and softly twist it back and forth while gently pulling on it. Grab your new filter and put it in place in the rubber grommet. Clean your cover and place gasket in place and reinstall in reverse order. I'm not 100% sure of the refill capacity. Ask at your auto parts store. They should be able to look it up. Have fun!!! The trans filter is held in by 3 locations: 2 friction type plastic pins and the rubber O ring. Pulling the filter off causes more fluid to drain out. When you put the new filter on, make sure the O ring is on the filter prior to installing and make sure the old one is removed from the valve body. When installing the filter, line up the o ring and then line up the 2 plastic pins. Make sure you are lined up and then slap the bottom of the filter with your hand to seat the filter. It should NOT rock on the valve body. If it does, you are not fully seated. It took me 2X to realize this. Tighten pan in a criss cross manner in 3 stages. I do the final tighten until I just see the rubber gasket start to squeeze out of the pan. Refill in 6 oz turns with the motor running and the trans in N as the torque convertor will fill up before the pan does. The convertor may not fill in P so N is where you should fill at. Check after every 6 oz. but itll take an entire bottle off the bat. Recommended after every 10K but that is from the filter manufacturer. Some trans are sealed forever and never require maintenance.
Low power steering fluid in the reservoir, bad power steeing pump or bad rack and pinion, hope for the first but if its low, fix the leak. That noise is normally caused when air gets into the power steering fluid requiring "bleeding" of the system .
Its normally fairly easy to do basically you jack the front wheels off the ground
have a friend turn the steering to full lock and hold it there while you open the bleeding nipple .
have some tubing connected to the nipple to collect the fluid, it does come out with a bit of pressure. clear tubing is good so that you can see the air bubbles and when they have stopped .
keep topping up the fluid reservoir as you bleed it off otherwise air will get in again.
the engine needs to be running to pump the fluid while you are carrying out the bleeding operation.
the exact method may be in the workshop manual for your particular vehicle
How do you change the timing belt on a 1997 Plymouth Breeze?
This is no easy task.and if this is your first time ,it is advised that you have someone who has knowledge od replacing a water pump with you . It's not as simlpe as it was ,say, twenty five years ago!
First loosen the lug nuts from the front passenger side tire, jack up the car and place on jack stands removethe inner Splash guard ,Remove the Drive belts from the alternaor and Power steering pump. After all this is done Drain the Anti freeze from the Car.NEXT wedge a large screw driver in the Crankshaft pulley to keep the pulley from turning when you take the pulley bolt off ,to remove the pulley. always turn the This clock wise .and make sure you have something wedged to keep the the crankshaft from turning counter clockwise, once the pulley has been removed your going to have toreplace just the bolt that held the pulley in place, so that you could turn the crank shaft by hand to align the timing marks on the Camshaft and Crankshaft after removing the timing belt cover!
After removing timing belt cover and Aligning timing marks you could remove the timing belt tensioner and belt,at this point it would be wise to replace the timing belt with a new one when it comes to putting the timing belt back on! and now you could remove the Water Pump! you could either purchase a new Timing belt tensioner or you could place the old one in a table vise and push the pin back into place and stick an appropriate size drill bit in the hole to keep it in place when you bolt the tensioner back into place! PUT EVERYTHING BACK IN the way you took everything off!,and be very careful not to turn the Crank or Cam Shaft Counter Clockwise if you need additional help check out the Haynes Manual for the Plymouth /dodge ,Breeze/ Stratus it could explain the procedure alot clearer ,but has a tendency to jump from chapter to chapter to take off certain accessories!
Good Luck!
What is the location of the thermostat in a 2000 Plymouth breeze?
The thermostat is located next the the timing belt on the left side of the engine. It is under the vent cap that norally is on the radiator.
How do you tell if you have a blown head gasket on a 1999 Plymouth Breeze?
A blown head gasket will ultimately leave water deposits on your oil dip stick. If your oil is clean on the stick but you are having oil leak problems that seem to be coming from the head, check the cam sensor. This is often mis-diagnosed as a blown head gasket and is simply not the case. The cam sensor is located on the right side of the engine just below the head. They seem to have a history of cracking with these engines as was the case with mine.
How many quarts does a 1998 Plymouth Breeze transmission hold?

How do you change the factory speakers in a 1996 Plymouth Breeze?
To change the front speaker simply pry off the cover using a flat screwdriver or equivalent, next unscrew the three Philip screws, then pull the speaker plug out.
To install new speakers just revers the process. You'll probably have to cut off the factory plug so you'll also need to know which of two wires is negative and positive unless there is some kind of adapter plug that connects the factory plug with nonfactory speakers.
For the rear: first pry off both plastic side panels (where the rear seat belts runs from) and pull them down to the side along with the weather striping, next fold down the back seat and pop off the plastic molding, then pill up the rear deck cover (it may be best to pry it up from the corners) the rear speakers are now accessible; remove the four Philip screws then unplug the speaker wire. To install; reverse, the same rules apply as with the front speakers.
NOTE: the panels are fasten with pins, they look like plastic screws. When you reinstall them make sure the pins are lined up with the holes the just pop it back in. The weather stripping just pills right off and pops right back in.
Where is the fuel filter located and how do you replace it on a 1997 Plymouth Breeze?
It is in the fuel tank, you have to drop the tank to get to it.
Actually, it is not in but above the fuel tank. Unfortunately you still have to drop the tank completely to get to it. Very poor design by Chrysler. Then, again, they want you to bring your vehicle to them and pay them to fix it as opposed to being able to make this a simple fix like they used to be.
AnswerIF YOU CANNOT SEE IT JUST IN FRONT OF THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL UNDER THE REAR FLOOR PAN, THEN I WOULD SAY THAT IS IN THE FUEL TANK..CHECK WITH THE DEALER FOR THIS AS I THINK THAT MANY POPULAR CHRYSLER PRODUCTS ONLY HAVE ONE THERE.Actually, its not in the tank but above it. You will still have to drop the tank completely to get to it.
Answerit is actually on top of the fuel tank and not in the tank....I replaced mine on a 98It is the same on a 1997 Breeze.
AnswerQuestion: 1996 Dodge Stratus 4 cyl mileage: 42000. I got a new fuel filter but I cannot find where to install it. Do you know just where the fuel filter is located on the 1996 dodge Stratus? Mahalo for any information you could provide.Answer: The fuel filter is located close to the fuel tank.
I would imagine that it is placed above the fuel tank, as it is in the Plymouth line, as they are the same company and body styles. The Dodge came with more options but I'm quite certain that when it comes to placement of fuel filter, fuel pump, etc., there isn't any design change. If you can not locate it under the car behind the back driver's side long the frame, then it will be above the tank, which requires a complete tank drop to access the fuel filter.
AnswerI know for my 1999 Breeze I'll have to drop my gas tank. It's likely the same for your 1997It is the same on the 1997 Breeze
