The hazard lights flasher is located directly behind the fusebox. The blinker flasher is located toward the center of the dash. You must take off the lower plastic piece right above the pedals, then the smaller piece around the steering column. You will then see the flasher located behind a flat metal piece of the dash frame directly above the gas pedal.

It becomes one of those things in which the more you do it, the easier and faster it becomes. Prepare yourself about 8 hours for your first run at a cylinder head.

The 1st thing you want to do is get yourself a Haynes manual for your specific car. It has all of the steps in order to do anything you want to do to your car. It will also tell you what materials you need. HIGHLY SUGGESTED ($15 or so. WELL worth it)

Make sure you have EVERY tool required. The Torque Wrench is probably the most important tool for the head bolts when you are putting it back on.

Make a list of all of the parts you will need. A head kit is a good safe idea but you will not need every piece. The Haynes manual will help you out to let you know what you need. Go to your local auto parts store and spend a bit.

This is also a prime time to replace the coolant and oil in your car so pick up some oil, a filter, and some coolant.

The next thing you want to do is get a bunch of little boxes to put parts in. Every time I don't get boxes to put my parts in, I ALWAYS lose one or two pieces. DO THIS to save your self time and hassle. Furthermore, label the boxes as you go with a black felt pen.

Take pictures of what you are doing with a digital camera. Take LOTS of shots of under the hood especially where you are going to be removing parts. You will thank me later for this one.

The rest is fully explained in the Haynes manual. Follow every step and don't skimp on any steps.

Out the back side of the valve cover (that thing with the oil cap in the middle of it), on the right side of it. Don't pull the one on the left backside, as that one goes over to your air filter. Just pull out, and replace; do not pay for this repair, as it is just too simply done.

The easiest part youll ever change. Do it yourself. locate therm Unscrew cap and drop it in screw cap back on shouldnt cost you more than 15 bucks.

Does it shake and stall when decellerating or at anytime? because mine seems to do that but its only when decellerating at a stop light or stop sign or whever and it dont always do it.. only after long drives. (1992 Pontiac Sunbird). It might be a bad EGR Valve.

I just replaced the thermostat and gave the coolant system a flush and replaced the prestone. Seems to have done the job.

If the smoke is white or has a kind of sweet smell to it the it's a problem with your cooling system, (the green liquid is antifreeze). My 92 did the same. I simply parked my car openned the hood then started it (be extremely careful if antifreeze is spraying out or a hose busts you be burnned. I wated for my car to begin to overheat, I looked for where the smoke is coming from, if it is coming from your tail pipe then you probably blew a head gasket. If its coming from the engine compartment then the best step is to look for the leak, in my case my upper radiator hose split and then sprayed onto my exhaust manifold causeing the smoke. That would be a quick $15 fix for a new hose(autozone). If it tends to come out of the right side of the engine then it maybe your lower radiator hose again $15. If not then your water pump probably went out. The leak would be from the left side of the enine and would generally not smoke. A $50 do it yourself fixer or $250 mechanic fixer. Change your oil afterword, if it's a blown head gasket there may be traces of antifreeze (the green liquid) in your oil. If so you need to replace your oil, if it was just a hose, I would change my oil anyways since you probably over-heated your car, brakeing down your oil. - Tony G.

follow the hose from the radiator top to the radiator fill cap....undo the cap and you will see the thermostat sitting right there...pull up on the metal kind of handle and the thermostat is out!! lane

if the starter is TRYING to start the engine check to see if your getting fuel. if it doesn't then check battery connections, starter, fuses. if no fuel check fuses, pump, and filter. if it is simply not firing check plugs, distributor cap and rotor, and plug wires. HOWEVER if it ISN'T turning over, but the starter is turning the motor then check the TIMING BELT.

Reset button? What are earth are you talking about? My best guess, is that you want to know how to reset the computer. The easiest method for this is to just unhook the battery, and leave it unhooked for a few minutes. This will erase all of the learned memory. Reconnect the battery, and the computer will relearn everything it needs as you drive it. The only other thing I can think of is the trip odometer, the reset is a push button right next to the readout. Hold it in for a second, and it'll reset. If you're referring to something else, I need more info.

I had to replace this part in my 93 sunbird. Its a pain to find. There are two flashers on the lower left side of the steering column. Those are not the ones your looking for. There is another flasher on the right of the steering column. you will have to reach your hand up on the right side and feel around for it. its not visable. You will find it though, just keep feeling around.
