the hose that fits on the air filter on my 88 dodge dynasty was taken loose from the motor, I know it fits on to the manifold but I can't find where it hook up. help

Sound like broken or worn motor mounts, I had a car thatdid the same thing and the motor mounts were broken. When you have broken motor mounts and start uphill the engine shifts and jams into the transmission on some cars and puts pressure on the accelerator line on some others.

What you are referring to is a MAF (mass air flow) sensor, not a map sensor. this regulates your air/fuel mixture and if clogged can affect your emissions control system and turn on the check engine light. Sometimes you can clean the MAF sensor and the problem will go away, other times you might need it replaced./

You should be able to find a shop manual at your local library with diagnostics and specs -- make copies of the right sections as they are usually only available in the REFERENCE section...good luck :)

Pontiac sets their car alarm sensors to max sensitivity by default. Consult your owners manual on how to turn it down/off.

The correct firing order is 5-2-3-6-4-1, the coil pack is number 1-2-3-4-5-6 so just connect the spark wire #5 to coil #1 wire #2 to coil #2 wire #3 to coil #3 wire #6 to coil #4 etc... it is NOT just 123456.

P0300 Diagnostic Code - Random Misfire

Symptoms.
Engine may stumble or miss
Engine may be hard to start
you may notice no issues

Cause
Failing spark plugs or spark plug wires
Bad coil or coil pack
Failing oxygen sensor(s)
Bad fuel injector or more than one
Stuck exhaust valve
Bad catalytic converter
EGR valve or valve passage clogging
Bad camshaft position sensor
Bad PCM or ECM

The Fix
Best first action is a tune up, new plugs, wires, inspect all hoses and wire connections then reset the code. If it returns you will need to narrow it down to a system, coils and coil packs should be tested, catalytic converters for function ( do you smell rotten eggs?). A misfire that jumps cylinders could indicate a lean condition, do you have any other codes along with the 300? this will help clue you in to the source, check valve function to make sure they are opening and closing fully.
This is probably pone of the most difficult codes to troubleshoot, so start with the basics and work your way into the more expensive options, in many cases a good old tune up solves the problem, back it up with a fuel system cleaning and see where you stand.

After pulling the cover pull the cluster, look on the back, check all bulbs and replace the ones that are burnt out or replace them all.
