What does 1994 Saturn SL2 dashboard battery warning light indicate?

It typically indicates that the alternator has failed and is no longer charging the battery. Once that happens, the battery will slowly discharge and the vehicle will no longer start.

The battery is simply an electrical storage device and if the alternator is unable to replace the electrical energy used LAST time the vehicle started, the battery will discharge.

Automotive batteries are not designed for "deep discharge", meaning that if you allow your battery to discharge too much you are causing harm.

Once the warning light comes on it would be wise for you to take care of the problem as soon as possible.

How do you fix a dim headlight on a 2002 Saturn SL2?

How to remove the gadget in front of the battery on Saturn L200 to remove the battery?

Did this last night (12-11-06). Underneath the "gadget" (I don't know what it is actually) there is a bolt that afixes the gadget to a metal bracket. The best way to actually see the head of the bolt is to look between the small crack between the "gadget" and the battery. That bracket holds the side of the battery closest to the front of the car in place as well. This bolt is VERY hard to see/get to. You'll need a wrench 1/2" size. You should reach down the right side of "gadget" to get the wrench in place. The space is really tight, and you may not even be able to see, just have to go by feel. In order to turn the wrench you may need to pull some free-hanging wires/cables towards the driver side headlight. Due to limited space for the handle of the wrench to move, at MOST, you'll only get a quarter turn each time. So it takes a long time. Once the bolt is loose enough (you don't need to completely take the bolt out), the bracket will be loose enough to pull the battery out and put the new one in.

The gadget is the fan cooling sensor, and after I struggled as above to remove the battery I read the book at Murrys. The fan cooling sensor can be lifted right up just pry with a flat head screw driver and pull up. Mine was kind of stuck but one good tug and it came right up.

Rest airbag light on 2001 Saturn sl1?

The airbag light indicates that the system has detected a fault with the airbag system. You'll need to take the vehicle to an authorized repair facility and have the airbag system diagnosed.

I highly recommend that you NOT attempt this work yourself. Airbags are extremely sensitive, and even a small static discharge can cause release of the airbag. Airbags are expensive and untimely discharges are potentially dangerous.

How long does it take for emission sensors to reset after replacing the EGR valve on a 1997 Saturn SC1 so it will pass state inspection?

if you are talking about the check engine light still being on after servicing the EGR valve, it will not go off on its own. it will need to be reset by a OBD II scanner. you can take the vehicle to autozone and they will reset the light for you. after the reset, drive the car normally to make sure that the problem has been fixed, and that the light doesnt come on again. it is a good idea to have it checked one more time before you take your vehicle in for state inspection. IT CERTAINLY CAN AND WILL RESET ITSELF AFTER AWHILE OF DRIVING

Where are the fuses for shoulder belts on a 1993 Saturn?

they are behind the panel on the passenger side of the console on the back of the panel it shows the # 5 and says Igni..... when the fuse blows it affects the seat belts the speedometer and odometer and the tac at least on mine it does and I am trying to gind out why mine blows fuses all the time Those seatbelts are also called passive restraints and some of the saturns have their own fuse for those. They will blow fuses if starting to seize up. They need to be lubed as part of an ongoing maintenance with something like wd40. The fuse for the seatbelt motors is located on the interior fuse panel on the fuse marked PREST. That fuse protects nothing else on the car. And no other fuse but that one is for the automatic belts. All 1991-1994's are this way. 1995+ went to fixed seatbelts.

Where is the crankshaft sensor on a 2000 Saturn 3.0 liter?

It is located on the backside of the engine block just above the starter motor. If you raise the car up on stands and scoot way underneath you will be able to feel it above the starter. don't confuse it with the transmission speed sensor which is easily viewed below and to the side of the starter

What if your 2001 Saturn sl1 will not go into any gear?

Check the fluid level. If you have fluid, you may have any of a number of problems.

Most likely it will be either a faulty hydraulic pump or poor seals in the valve body. Either way, you'll need a shop to make the necessary repairs.
