Your car should run 1-2mm above 1/4 as per the guage. It should not take very long to get there either. As to your low coolant light....if you are NOT low on coolant then you need to clean the sensor. The resiviour must be taken out and cleaned with soap and water. Once put back in if the problem persists a new sensor is needed. However you have to buy the entire reisiviour with the sensor.

Here's my opinion. They make a universal coolant now, perhaps Prestone or some other brand. It claims it can be mixed with ANY type of coolant... if you're not sure what it takes, go with that. Take your time flushing your coolant if it looks like mud. You may have to flush it multiple times to get all the junk out.
I bought my Saturn used. When I checked all the fluids my coolant was a browish color. I ask my mechanic he told me that who had it before put both green and orange coolant in it. He flushed it and put in orange coolant.

AnswerIs there oil in one cylinder or all of them?I had oil fouling of the #3 spark plug on a 1995 SL2. The engine ran fine and never had a misfiring problem. It used about a quart of oil every 500 miles. I would exchange the #3 plug with one of the other plugs every now and then to clean it up. The problem was corrected when I replaced the cylinder head with one I bought on eBay. However, even after my own personal rebuild, the engine still uses a quart of oil every 600 miles and has done so for about 100,000 miles. Some oil consumption indicates that there is good upper cylinder lubrication. I get 36+ MPG on the highway on short trips... I don't get concerned about oil consumption as long as the plugs don't foul and I don't have to add oil in a driving rain.
If the head gasket were leaking, I don't think it would leak oil into the cylinder. You would have a much bigger leak of combustion gasses out of the gasket. If all the cylinders are getting too much oil, that indicates rings and/or valve guide seals. If only on cylinder, it could be a valve guide seal.
Are you seeing oil fouling when you remove the spark plug or is there oil in the spark plug hole before you take the plug out? If there is oil in the spark plug hole before you take the plug out, that is a leak between the valve cover and the cylinder head and is fairly simple to fix and worked the first time I replaced the gaskets.

P0117 will set if the engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT) reads over 248F when the engine has been running for 10 seconds. replace your coolant temp sensor. the sensor is located in the drivers side of the cylinder head, just below the valve cover line, under the coolant hose.
Check your spark plus first; it could be a miss fire. If not, check your ignition coils. Pull them off and put them back on the engine. It should rev up when you put them on, If one doesn't, that is your bad one. If they rev up, iit could be a vacuum leak. Spray starter fluid in your intake. If the engine revs up, you have a vacuum leak. It could also be a MAf sensor that goes next to your intake filter. It is the size of your intake pipe so you can miss it; unplug it and drive the car. I if it does not make a difference do a difference it is not the sensor.

How would you remove the door panel on 92 Saturn?
To remove the interior door panel you first want to unscrew and remove the interior door handle, hand hold, and mirror adjustment cover. Then you also need to remove the power door lock switch which you can pop out with a flat blade screwdriver. Once everything has been removed, you want to carefully pop the plastic inserts. The interior panel is pretty much completely held on by those little plastic "push pins." To remove the exterior door panel you must first remove the exterior door handle. To do this you have to remove these little plastic pins on the underside. Once they are removed, you lift up on the handle and slide it left or right to remove. Once this is done you must also loosen the mirror by taking off the inside cover and there should be three nuts that need to be loosened. Then you must locate and remove all of the torx-head screws that attach the door panel to the door.
