There is a round plastic "Bulb Housing Cover" the you will see the wires going into, you need to rotate this cover COUNTER CLOCKWISE and it will slide back about 4 inches. POOR Design on Subaru's end, you need small hands to reach around the cover and remove and install the ne bulb.

Next Step:

Remove the BLACK Wire Connector that goes into the bulb. There is a red wire as well, but the black wire is the one to remove.

Remove the "Bulb Retention Spring" out of the way.

Grasp the bulb by the metal end and remove with a slight twist and pull straight out.

Reinstall new bulb. Do Not Touck the Glass on the Bulb as any skinoil can ruin the bulb, use a bit of paper towel or a clean cloth if you need to touch the glass.

Reattach the Bulb Retention Clip

Reattach the Black Wire.

Reinstall the Bulb Housing Cover by rotating it Clockwise.

Not too bad, took me about 3 minutes.

Is it possible to make a subaru ej253 sohc motor into the ej255 wrx or ej257 sti motor?

There is a company in Australia that has designed a supercharger for the 2.5 Rs (ej253). It makes the Rs equal to the wrx. But that's really all youll get out of the ej253. It doesn't handle more that 6psi well and the block doesn't have the same cooling as an wrx/sti block. To rebuild it with all the parts would be a waste when you can find an wrx/sti engine block for the price you would pay building up an ej253.

How do you test a back pressure transducer?

make sure you have vaccum to the transducer, i believe there will be 2 hoses coming from the throttle body. make sure that the metal line that connects to the bottom of the transducer is not clogged with carbon. if you have vaccum and that line is clear, take the hose that goes to the egr vsv solenoid off the transducer and rev the engine up. if it is good you will have vaccum through the transducer, if its bad no vaccum will be there.

Check engine light Subaru?

Check Engine light comes on due to a wide range of possible problems, often automatically disabling the cruise control, leaving it blinking. The problems can range from sensor issues (MAF, Oxygen Sensors, Etc.) to a loose gas cap, to condensation, to a loose connector on a sensor, perhaps even a dying battery, a flaky alternator or a faulty battery terminal connection. It is a catch-all problem indicator. If you are lucky, you can simply reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for a minute, and the Check Engine light will be gone and cruise control will work. If the error persists, you need to get the error code (if you do not have a code reader or accesspoint, stop by Autozone or somewhere similar and get them to read it for you) see what the error is, and fix the problem. Simple? Hopefully it's not something more troublesome, bad injector, etc.
