Do V6 Toyota valves tighten when wearing? Well first of all - one has to determine what exactly your question means. Do valves tighten? I have to assume you mean does the valve lash diminish. So I am guessing you are asking that when valve and seat face surfaces wear - does the lifter gap (or lash) get smaller (or diminish). The answer is no. First off - valve and seat face wear is very very minimal. Any wear that could occur here is exceeded by the wear to the lifter/shim/valve stem end. Most experienced technicians will tell you that no adjustment or shim replacement should ever be necessary. That is correct. Unless you have extreme case like trying to get half a million miles out of the engine.

If valve seats were ever replaced, and the inserts were not completely seated at installation, then the lash could diminish over time as the seats fully bottomed in the bores. But you never presented that as the case.

The speedometer cable on your car is near the starter motor on th back of the engine. You'll have to remove your battery and air intake assembly to get at it. It can be reached from the top but it's actually easier to remove the bolt that holds the metal securing cover from the bottom of the car when it's jacked up.

You'll nee a 12mm wrench to get it out.

Be sure to use axel stands or another means of support when working under the car. Paeo owners are rare and much too valuable to the wold to loose.

It is telling you that there is a problem with the airbag system. It is not likely to suddenly inflate but it probably will not work in a crash. Also if the problem is in the module it may keep the other air bags from deploying as well. Need to have it checked out at your dealer.

Depends your route, but anywhere from ~13 hours to ~16 hours. The biggest "if" is traffic in and around Washington, DC, if you are going that route. Traffic there is terrible and hard to predict - interstates become parking lots for seemingly no reason, other times you can coast through alright. I typically head over to Cleveland on I-80, then cut south on I-77. This intersects with I-64 in Charleston, WV, which makes a good stopping point at around halfway (~7 hours from Detroit to Charleston). I-77 and I-64 are together for a bit south of there, then I-64 jogs east and will take you directly into Norfolk, VA.

Shifter is blocked by a device attached to the brake pedal. If the brake pedal is not depressed it wont allow you to change out of park. There should also be a bypass button next to the shifter, in case the cable to the pedal breaks.

I had the same problem with my 2000 GXE...it just died suddenly..I used a hand held scanner and it turned out to be a camshaft position sensor about $ 80.00.It's very easy to replace,it's located on the front cylinder head. Looking at cylinder head (near the radiator)follow the camshaft location (with your eyes) towards the left,you will notice it on the side ,it only has one bolt and one wire plug. very simple fix. I tend to agree. I have a '95 3.0L V6 SR5 4WD and towing a 3,000 lbs. pop up I borrowed from a friend was dragging it down HARD through the mountains of Colorado.

If its an automatic, check it with it running and add fluid through the dipstick tube. BE SURE NOT TO OVERFILL. If it is a manual, use the fill plug on the side of the transmission.

there is no dipstick in the V6 automatic.It is a closed system

i went through this delimma with my 04' 4runner. i have the 4.0 V6 Engine and it turns out this engine has a TIMING CHAIN and not a timing belt!

my mechanic told me the chain does not need changing unless it is rattling or making noise. i consider this GREAT news and $1,000 richer!

if you have the 4.7 liter engine, then you DO have a timing belt and I would recommend buying a timing belt kit from eBay or amazon.com. this will save you big $$ over getting it from the dealership or from your local mechanic.

Spray lubricant on hex fitting of antenna(mounted on fender) Unscrew fitting.Follow antenna cable back thru fender wall.Unplug where it mates with same size cable. Reverse for new install

an antenna is used for transmitting and receiving signals with the use of electro magnetic waves. without the antenna there will not be any communication between one end and the other end. so, antennas play an important role using the EM waves. these em waves take energy from conducting electrons and transmits the information to the other end.

Disconnect the battery first.

Then there are 2 bolts holding the starter to the transmission case. Take those off. Then slide the motor out so you can get to the connections on it. Remove these and carefully remove the starter. Reverse the order to reinstall.

Some things that help. Remove the wheel and place the car on a stand so you have good access. Then there is a panel to keep debris out of the engine and give you access to the starter. Remove this also.
